Don't solely rely on video advice. If you have a persistent flaking scalp go see a dermatologist IN PERSON. They can test you for fungus or sort out if it is something like eczema, medication side effect, overly dry scalp (ie habits that could have increased it, change of product, maybe a new product has something that is causing your skin irritation, etc) DO NOT just use strong anti fungal shampoo or products if you aren't certain or pretty certain that it is the cause. Sometimes what fixes fungal dandruff makes other conditions like dry skin/scalp or eczema to be worse. Honestly I think it is just better to get it checked if you have the ability and resources to. Especially cause if it affects your scalp you get a good chance of it possibly affecting or in the future affecting the rest of your skin. Don't use TH-cam or Tiktok for end all advice (yes I know the irony of that last statement but at least i am basically advising you to see a specialist than use the TH-cam equivalent of the WebMD self diagnosis)
Sadly not all dermatologists listen nor know what they are talking about. I was told to continue using head and shoulders shampoo, which did nothing, no anti-dandruff shampoo had worked. I shaved my hair off and started using Eucerin Very Dry Skin Advanced Repair Cream and have not had any flakes in about two years. What I'm saying is most will just default to "What works for most work's for all" mentality or the whole "What the common diagnoses is, is what the issue is for anything similar" mentality.

So diets high in certain saturated fats cause sebum changes, specifically the increased content of various fatty acids. These inflame the skin, causing increased skin production(flakes). The fungus malassezia (also known as pitryosporum) then moves from being on the surface into the lower layers and create more inflammation. So antifungals are masking the problem. Its your diet, and to some extent, your microbiome. It gets worse on antibiotics, for example. Malassezia is on everu human's skin, but the diet screws up the balance. More fiber, more fruit (especially citrus), less garbage food.
See a dermatologist. It may not be fungal dandruff but eczema, dry skin, or something else that could be as easy as switching products that could be causing irritation and dryness. Dandruff shampoo can sometimes worsen it if it is eczema or something that reacts similarly.
I’ve been having dandruff problems for years now. I used Nizoral anti dandruff shampoo and it never worked. Dandruff is not caused by yeast....maybe its one of the reasons but a majority of the people facing dandruff just have a dry scalp and the danruff is just dried skin from ur scalp.
I used rice water back in 2019 and my hair has never been the same since, extreme dandruff came after that and years of shame, I was so embarrassed but thanks to that shampoo my dandruff has almost disappeared ❤️❤️❤️
Super secret...treat derm issues from the inside. eg.Cut back on sugars and simple carbs...that's JUST an example. You can topically treat these issues, but KNOW and treat the cause. Some yeast and fungal products are STRONG. Some dermatologists will not tell you about them because the application is precise. Make sure you go to the RIGHT specialist. Make sure you know EXACTLY what your condition is. Treat chronic problems holistically.
Does that mean the clipper the hairdresser is using is now infected with that yeast, and if it's not disinfected, the next client will also get contaminated with this yeast on his scalp?
Absolutely not. That's a very wrong response. The yeast that causes dandruff and later, seborreica dermatitis, is common on everybody hair. When dandruff happen, the scalp is reacting to the inflammation that the yeast causes, which could be numerous things.
I had this my whole life. I stopped drinking milk. A couple months late I was shocked that it was 99% gone. It has been 4 years or so and has never come back. I'm happy.
Dandruff isn't necessarily caused by yeast as yeast are really present on our skin. Dandruff happens when the yeast on our scalp feeds on the oils present on our scalp and this causes dandruff. Yeast isn't necessarily a bad thing cos it's part of our skin.

Moisture is a real bitch. Hence why some guys balls' smell bad. They don't dry off properly.
This is not an option if you have thick curly hair. Twice a week is too much shampoo for curly hair people, hair will become dry and brittle, and air drying hair is the only practical form of drying hair unless you want to frizz up your hair by towel drying or using heat everyday.

Remember the good old saying common sense ain’t so common…😂 its like no matter what ppl be will never learn or listen

I shaved my hair off and started using Eucerin Very Dry Skin Advanced Repair Cream and have not had any flakes in about two years.
You can use it but it wont cure it completely. It just reduces the effect. I have been using one from 4 yrs.

What I did was squeeze 3 tbs of lemon juice with 2 tbs baking soda and massage the mixture in my scalp and wait a few minutes and when I washed it off nothing was there. It’s like it naturally disappeared. Do that twice a week.
Dandruff is not caused by yeast....maybe its one of the reasons but a majority of the people facing dandruff just have a dry scalp and the danruff is just dried skin from ur scalp.

Holy shit thank you so much, I’ve been trying to deal with dandruff for years
Does that mean the clipper the hairdresser is using is now infected with that yeast, and if it's not disinfected, the next client will also get contaminated with this yeast on his scalp?
You're exactly right, this is called cross contamination/infection
Everyone has this yeast on their scalp. Dr Dray recommends washing your scalp every day.
No, because this yeast is naturally occurring on everyones scalp. The people who get dandruff just happen to react to it
Absolutely not. That's a very wrong response. The yeast that causes dandruff and later, seborreica dermatitis, is common on everybody hair. When dandruff happen, the scalp is reacting to the inflammation that the yeast causes, which could be numerous things.
Hairdressers are legally required to disinfect and sanitize tools in between every client though, so this should never be a worry
