I don't understand why ppl keep saying he destroyed her life, he did not destroy her life b/c he was a young kid, he was of age but he was young and he had no control over her life. She was a grown woman despite what was going on in her personal life the network gave her an option which ppl fail to recognize. She chose what she wanted to do even though they cut her salary she still had a job again she chose and b/c she made a wrong decision she should have accepted responsibility instead of blaming a young adult kid. Noone can bare another person's burdens her hardships were her hardships to go through. She was not an uneducated black woman she was very smart her downfall was that she held a grudge and had animosity for something that was not meant for her to have and this festering anger she held kept her from moving on. Again it was not meant for her and in life if there's a job that you were terminated from or you resigned whatever the case may be you move on you find another job and move on. She had the characteristics of a disgruntled postal worker who lost his job and held on to all this anger just to come back and shoot up the place but would blame everyone except herself for her decisions. That's just my opinion
She could have received the blessing that was being given to her. She needed that time to get herself and her family together. Those reduced hours could have given her an opportunity to be a mother and wife. Then get back on track. No blame, just trying to share a different view.
Hmm never really saw it this way. I think that's because perhaps her pride and dignity didn't allow her to accept less than what she and her family deserved. There was a strength and integrity in that choice. But she probably did not expect to end up with absolutely nothing and never work again. In that sense, Will's words did have power. His actions directly affected her pay cut based upon something he was feeling but wasn't true. I guess Janet held to certain principles about not accepting that deal, but she ended up with nothing in the long run. Will moved on and made millions and never looked back to help (as far as we know). I do think he is partly responsible. To your point though, I see what you're saying. Perhaps if she'd dealt with the pay cut she would've at least had time to build a reputation and maybe recover what was lost some time in the future. Maybe she wouldn't have lost her home or would've been able to support her children at least which seems more important than pride. This has been ugly for 30 years and all of the mudslinging got them nowhere. So I guess she has a part to play too.
People are simple folk. Will comes out crying a lil bit and everyone forgets that he wasnt the only one who had trouble with her. They forget that she only responds to publicity that paints her positively which mean Will had to play her story out just to get her at the reunion. They forget that she isnt actually a mother figure for him, she is a co worker who plays a side character on his show and that he was within his right to surround himself with the kind of people that fit his business direction.

My heart breaks for both of them. I hate that so much anger festered for so many years. I hate that this ruined her career. She's a talented woman and he's a talented guy. Is everyone?? 😢 What a messy world we live in.... I'm so glad they talked. I'm so glad they apologized to one another. ❤
Will Smith was not the producer of Fresh Prince. Young, Black and Talented still won't give him the power to fire her.She made some choices that lead to her downfall!! Will made a mistake but who isn’t ? What makes me an awesome man is what he did at the end !!!!!!! Thank you Will!!!!! What a great lesson for all of us. I’m pretty sure this type of thing is normal in Hollywood but Will got the gut to face and ask forgiveness to one person he did wrong.
when she said "why did you have fear of me" i felt that in my spirit. honestly, Will would never admit it but he was intimidated by a Black woman (which says more about him and his internal biases and trauma with maternal figures than it says about her).
Money won't fix me or my problems it's just comfort I can't cope with when my life changing and people get angry with my life but thanks everyone in my life and glad I meet everyone and got to share my life with role modals that help me be better person
I hope Will gets himself healed. He’s got a lot to face, it seems, and has made his own cry for help just recently. I hope his karma is to be treated with the goodwill he’s struggled to portray all these years. Clearly part of his karma is being shut out of his career for some time, like Janet was. Karma has such a tricky way with things.
I don't really agree with Janet. If people at work don't know what personal struggles you're going through, how are they supposed to support if you don't communicate to them? Instead, she lashed out at them which is unprofessional.
Maybe because in the 90s, people didn't play up being a victim like they do today. Everyone today is a big victim, its sickening. She obviously came from a generation that sucked it up & didn't cry about her personal problems like everyone does now. People act traumatized by the most ridiculous things these days.
@@n.m.3760 I was only responding to your suggestion that she should have told the cast about her problems at the time. Furthermore, she wasn't playing the victim in the years after Will Smith did her dirty, she was simply putting him on blast so people would know that he isn't who he pretends to be. Theres a difference. He deserved to be called out. She was setting the story straight since he maligned her to everyone in the industry they worked in, which cost her jobs. She had every right to tell her side. That's not being a victim, to tell your side.
If she stopped talking to people on set then that was a problem. I feel bad that she was abused by her husband but the cast didn’t know that. She obviously didn’t tell them. And they weren’t psychic. They most probably thought she was a rude bitch. So of course she needed to leave. She probably made everyone around her miserable. I do think Janet has narcissistic tendencies. She thinks everything revolves around her and she does not acknowledge her own faults. Does she even think what her cast mates had to put up with by her not talking to them? They must have felt hurt and confused. But everything is about her problems.
I’m so glad that they made peace with each other.

She was hurting! Lost everything! So that was her defense! I hope Will compensate her! Yes forgiveness is great! But give her the money you took from her
This was so sad. I'm glad she got closure.
My heart breaks for both of them. I hate that so much anger festered for so many years. I hate that this ruined her career. She's a talented woman and he's a talented guy. Do we ever _really_ know someone? What they're struggling with ? What their demons are? And then the whole Jada thing....is she a narcissist? Is Will? Is everyone?? 😢
What a messy world we live in....
I'm so glad they talked. I'm so glad they apologized to one another. ❤
Well, she would’ve most likely disappeared like the rest of the cast after the show ended anyway
This shows you the CHARACTER behind the IMAGE of Will Smith.
Will should give Janet some money!
How do you know he didn’t give her money? Do you want him to announce it all over the world and humiliate her by doing so?
Period
Will Smith was not the producer of Fresh Prince. Young, Black and Talented still won't give him the power to fire her.She made some choices that lead to her downfall!! She should have thought of the consequences of her actions. Did anyone know who she was b4 Fresh Prince? She was offered contracts that she refused. What would have happened if she didn't refuse those contracts
For what???
He did I heard he gave her 5 million
Wow...
Very nice what he did...forgiveness is so powerful...
What a strong woman to sit afters years with him together and give him a chance to speak...
👍🏼
Man.... I didn't know there were so many things going on behind a show that kept everyone's life happy ... This is sad... I've always wondered why Janet changed .... Now i know why
I miss this show so much as a kid 💯
I’m not gonna say that I didn’t like the other one but the original was just that original and she was the fit. Iam in my feelings that they couldn’t have fixed it back then and very sorry for her that she went through a lot
I cry every time I hear Janet’s pain and Will well am sorry but he needs to Write a Big Cheque for her quick time - he took her life crush her dreams. Happy they made up they both needed it but Sad because hugs and kisses is not gonna really help Janet financially 🥺
1st aunt Viv all day, the dance episode was epic👏👏👏🌺🌺🌺
So Proud of you Will. Such a sweet soul and Beautiful man ☺️☺️🤗🤗❤️❤️
Awesome! Now, if she will accept give her some money 💰
I agree give her some compensation she did really make the show exciting and I’m impressed by Will for giving her peace of mind and showing real emotion about the wrong he did to her I was in tears watching this
I agree, a few million is pennies for him. It wont buy time, but would be a reasonable gesture in addition to the heartfelt apology. 👍🏽
Money for what???
@@anuncolonizedmind6296 he ruined her career.
She’s way too classy to take his money.
I’m so glad they got a chance to work it out.
I'm so glad that will and Janet forgave each other for things in the past and moving forward with their acting careers
Yup. Really liked the show with her in it
I'm happy he's strong enough to admit that and take responsibility. ❤ I do hope he compensated her with some dough though...🤑
Naah. He’s clearly not a good person
This literally felt like a 7 1/2 min intro... i was literally waiting for the "documentary" to start, then the "intro" ended.
He was rlly young then and it was before literally 27 years, why does he still getting hate abt that?
He ruined her life
Their dynamic happens ALL DAY -- EVERYDAY in the World. Life ain't fair. Keep it moving.
Someone explain.(I still love Will Smith ,Still think he is very underappreciated.)
It's such a pitty she has only one life and after 30 even if Will had given her the world it would have matter almost nothing. She was past by .
How does one apologies and ati make it ALL ABOUT THEMSELF
That’s will for ya.. 😂
I mean: He was the star probably...but looking back memory lane, all others were very close behind him and stars as well in my eyes.
Since it’s 2021, this show is 32 years old now

@@amiyahdavidson1892 oh right
when she said "why did you have fear of me" i felt that in my spirit. honestly, Will would never admit it but he was intimidated by a Black woman (which says more about him and his internal biases and trauma with maternal figures than it says about her).
Pain is there it never leaves
Money won't fix me or my problems it's just comfort I can't cope with when my life changing and people get angry with my life but thanks everyone in my life and glad I meet everyone and got to share my life with role modals that help me be better person
I hope Will gets himself healed. He’s got a lot to face, it seems, and has made his own cry for help just recently. I hope his karma is to be treated with the goodwill he’s struggled to portray all these years. Clearly part of his karma is being shut out of his career for some time, like Janet was. Karma has such a tricky way with things.
I didn’t like the new aunt viv but the Janet Hubert aunt viv is the bomb !
I think it's a Lil bit of both but she didn't realize how much power this kid had
@@kleeamd8274 but she did play the victim big time for decades. She was crying for years at how the cast mistreated her.
Word cut deep be kind and love each other the world needs a break
The entanglement changed him.
😂😂😂
Will really messed up her life.
@Banx he was a young man with money, the world and everyone's undying affection at his feet. I can forgive it.
come on guys he was a teenager everyone goes thru a phase
Yup
He ain’t that bad man
He was on top of the world thinking about nothing other than what he earns and who laughs at him
She and her agenr messed up her life. She was difficult to deal with. Will was just a newbie kid making boss moves. He had no idea what was going on
@Brfans Review he was in his mid twenties...
Janet will always be the world's aunt Viv
She deserves a movie part in MIB or something to make out for everyting
Wonderful story. Powerful!
He was a young kid. Please let it go.
Letting go healthily happens after working it through.
@Japhya Senorta Thank you!
