A few months back I bought my first controller with paddles. I had no interest in it at first, but the second I realized that I could map A in Octopath Traveller to advance the text boxes, it was all over. It sounds like such a dumb use but for some reason pulling the paddle is 100 times better than mashing the A button.
I didn't even know you could shut off the menu music 'till you mentioned it. What a game changer. What an absolute life saver. Such an infuriating sound track too, and it's finally over... Thank you Tim Rogers...

I played a lot of Videoball last weekend. And you might be interested to know that one of my friends, who isn't a gamer and is generally bad at every competitive game I've ever seen him try to play, is only good at two games that we've ever played. Killer Queen and Videoball. He's observant and that concept of the single screen omnipresent information both games use is right in his wheel house. Even if his reflexes aren't amazing, he doesn't miss a thing. Also, just so I'm not that guy who seems like he didn't watch the video, I'd like paddles on the back of the controller. I have medical issues with my hands and even playing normally for an extended duration can be painful, so I'm all for easier, more comfortable control inputs than stick clicking and the like.
I know right? Premium content like this on a channel like Kotaku is the last place I'd expect to find this. I'd always avoided Kotaku videos because of their social justice warrior reputation for their written articles (and I'm liberal myself).

I hope there's a new Mirrors Edge game for next gen with ray tracing. I've been playing around in Catalyst and the amount of shiny surfaces that don't have real time reflections breaks my immersion bones. DICE already has (some of) the technology with that battlefield game (5?) and Mirrors Edge seems like the best type of game to show it off.
