Not "completely private". All messages/comments/dms are seen by the owner of the account. Even if the owner was not in the conversation. Even if it was deleted. This is closer to company property at a place of employment. Easy to track and collaborate for work and all can be viewed/logged.

dm's are ~NOT~ visible by anyone including owner of account

I'm in charge of onboarding a whole bunch of people who don't know how to use anything like Slack. This is the best tutorial I have been able to find that is simple enough for them to understand! Thank you so much :)

Thanks! This is the clearest tutorial I have found for showing people that are not very tech savvy.

Solid little tutorial, bummed that you haven't created any follow-ups! Clear, well laid-out, give us some more!

Hey there Austin, could you provide a downloadable PDF version of your flow-chart? Also I watched a lot of videos and yours was the only one that was EASY to follow. THANK YOU

Can you delete a message once it's sent? If so, how?

Are you still actively creating these videos? I loved this practical video (most of the others I saw were too quirky, sales-y, or start from admin sign-ups rather than user-perspective use. I would really like to see your next few videos, too, but I don't see any.

In a busy office environment, all we really need is the instant messaging, because we're already slammed with emails from our computers, texts on our smart phones, and phone calls. And live humans dropping by unexpectedly. :)

I joined a slack group. One of the channels for newcomers has a few pinned items. I click on the pin and it shows the items on the right side of my screen. They're blocks of text someone had written, but I can't see the full post as it is displayed on the right side of my screen. I click on them but they don't expand. How can I see the full text without scrolling all the way back to when they were originally posted?

This is confusing. The first words of this video say it's the 2nd tutorial; but the title on this page is "Slack Tutorial 1: Slack Basics"
