      50$ for Amplifierboard+ 35$ for PSU for minimal working configuration.
      System of 2*300 for speakers + 1*600 for sub (really 2*100+1*200 for 8Ohms) + 600W psu + 3*22k mf kenwood capacitors + some relay and dc-dc for soft start and wood for box has price lower than 200$.

    Really good idea to use a tube preamp with cheap chinese d-class noisy amplifier witch supplyed from a switching psu ... I thin those tubes are only "light up" the preamp and inside hase some opamp witch doing the job ... And please make the video name correct: 600W energy drain Amplifier with 60W musical output...

    While I think what you made is cool in some ways.. I need to critique a few things.
    1) This is a video on how to build a project housing, not how to make an amplifier.
    2) Your soldering joints are questionable. I saw very little flow and it didn't look like the contact surfaces were preheated. I wouldn't be shocked if a bit of vibration over time broke one of your joints.
    3) The larger higher current connections have large holes in the middle for a reason. Soldering a u-shape connection to them is probably not ideal. I imagine there is a better connection method.
    4) External power supply?? I think that defeats the entire purpose of what you did. A good unit would have the power supply contained with the amplifier section all in a single enclosure. I noticed you didn't really show much about that, as if to give the impression that the entire amplifier is right here in this psu enclosure, but it's not, because it requires an external DC PSU to work still..
    I think you should be a little more honest about what you're doing and you should work on your soldering skills before demonstrating to others or you will give them the impression that this is fine.

      The 600 watt power claim is suspect as well. There are many of these off brand boards floating around. Check here on TH-cam for the TPA3116 "100 watt subwoofer amp" No where near what it's claims are.
      Note that as of today, no one has run the TAS5630 on an Amp Dyno.

    • @НиколайЩепетов-в2ш
      @НиколайЩепетов-в2ш 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hifi and coolers sound - bad compromise.
      If amp used for home speakers, active coolers and small box - not good idea. My custom box for tas5630 amp has inner size about 28*42*18 sm., 2 big holes on left and right side for design and heating, 600W PSU (china meanwell 48V at defaul allow box) internally included. I see that radiators on amp boards no have overheating in passive mode at power levels of home usage. But PSU has a locally overheating >55 celcius degrees and their cooler runs for 1min periodically, in a passive mode, even with no sound from amp boards. Internal PSU radiator has minimal contact with they box, and passive power dissipation for this surface is unsufficient.
      Only modification for increase surface of contact of inner psu radiator with upper side of psu box, append radiator from motherboard on outer upper side of psu box, drill whole in upper side of amp box for passive heat dissipation from this radiator, has solve problem of coolers sound.

    i would say it looks nice, but the reason why that amp had such huge holes for the wires, is cause it probably needs lower gauge wire, as well i didn't see you put any insulator between the bottom of the board, and the full metal case?

    I would consider sending the wires through the holes rather than soldering on the surface as you did.
    Why was an adjustable board with a display and controls secured inside with no access when the case is closed? Even if its a one time adjustment it would add value just with the look.

      Well you did put a lot of work in so I won't say lazy but I know the feeling when building.
      One other suggestion. In future show the board fully before you start using it in the build and put a basic text description below so its clear what is is and why you are including.
      You may loose people if they cannot follow at the time. Few will go through the description and links to piece it back together.

    I'd Love to see it clamp 600W LOLOLOL maybe a couple hundred but even that would be generous. Even if it could produce that kind of power the supply he's using only outputs "10.5a @ 48v" which physically limits him to 504w RMS, thats at 100% unrealistic efficiency not even considering the amount of energy the amplifier itself is using to convert that power back to AC in the form of music. Cool project but I think calling it a "600w amplfier" is a little far fetched.

      Those D class amplifier are very effective compared to A AB B classes. And this amplifier board uses a TI chip and the datasheet says 300-W STEREO / 600-W MONO PurePath™ HD ANALOG-INPUT POWER STAGE.

    • @SzDavidHUN
      @SzDavidHUN 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Didn't check the required heatsinks sizet, that could be a BIG problem, but the system will capable of 600w for leats that few seconds before the thermal safety options kicks in, or something el, but only if the psu is capable of 600w.

    • @OpSic66
      @OpSic66 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      @SzDavidHUN - Spec sheets are one thing. Check youtube for the TPA3116 subwoofer amp dyno. They claim 24V/>38w(8ohm)/>75w(4ohm)/>95w(2-3ohm) it struggled to hit 83w @ 25vdc. So stating 600w is poor practice. Safely they could claim 550w and we'd be happy to see it over shoot the target. Poor marketing.

    • @SzDavidHUN
      @SzDavidHUN 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      These measure a kind of honest in the world of PMPO and etc when you write 1000w for a 1w rms amplifier.
      Anyway I haven't measured these things, I only know something about them like the have way better efficiency and get surprised how small they are and how good the sound quility compared to some of my other things.
      So yeah, I see people compare these to class A and other, so yeah.

    • @pjaj43
      @pjaj43 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sadly the brief shot of the power supply shows 48 V @ 10.8 A or about 518 W so at the claimed efficiency of about 88% you can't get more than 456 W out

    That power supply is a bit under powered for the specs on that amp. If the amplifier is 600 watts at 88% efficiency, that means you need 14.2 amps at 48 volts, but the power supply is only 12.5 amps, which would be fine if it were 100% efficient, but it is rated at 88%.
    Having said that, there would be no problem for most situations, because it can probably handle the occasional swing to the full 600 watts, and it is unlikely someone will be able to keep a constant 600 watts on it, but it appears you did at least some math, since a 12.5 amp power supply would be the exact right rating if it were 100% efficient, so I thought it might be good to point it out.

    It might be a better idea to use some sort of thermal adhesive to glue the thermal probe on the amp heatsinks I don't think hot glue will transfer heat very well thus not trigger the cooling fan, An even better option would to find a more modern dead PSU off ebay that has a 120mm fan mounted on the larger side so it would be blowing air on ALL the components.

    Dude, fair play to ya! Really nice work! Although I wouldn't trust the built quality nor the sound quality of that actual amp board (not a fan of Aliexpress crap), I have to say, you're doing a seriously good job. Checked some of your other videos and well impressed with your work. Keep it up, you've my subscription!
    Oh and BTW, don't mind all these "know it all" tards around here acting like they know shit. I don't see them doing any projects.
    A suggestion if I may, you should test your projects. Fair enough, you might not have a sub to test this on but what about the bluetooth speaker?

    I hate it when they rate amps in P.E.P. they should go back to rating them at RMS power per channel @ 0.10%-10% distortion.

    • @stym1e
      @stym1e 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      RMS power = Peak Envelope Power (P.E.P.) or Peak power X 0.707 . So 100W peak = 100 X 0.707 = 70.7 watts RMS.
      Only a respectable amplifier manufacturer will be willing to hang their balls out there and state the performance of an amplifier as : XXXX.X Watts of power RMS each channel with BOTH channels driven at the same time into a real inductive load (not a resistor) from 10 Hz to 20KHz with

    This will NOT give out a 600Watt RMS power. The Amp has only about 80% efficiency, so it will require a minimum of about 750Watts of Power Supply. At 48Volts the current required to deliver 600Watt RMS is about 16Amps. The Power supply used in this project can only deliver 10Amps max. Should have done some Design calculations before posting it here. Well .....about 88% of all the things on the internet are "Unreal"...... Just Enjoy the media and have a laugh.

  • @KorAllRBare
    @KorAllRBare 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Nice 150 Wrms Amplifier Module, Mind you not that you will get that many watts out of it unless that power supply is at least 200 VA, and or for 600 Wrms it's gonna need a minimum of 650VA to power it, But with such a small heatsink and fan, even if the Amplifier module is a Class D, what you've got there is a potential expensive fog machine Err-a real smoker **Hint** enclosure ain't doing it any favours :D
    Anyway I was actually hoping you were going to assemble an amplifier from scratch even one in a kit form would have been nice, Alas anyone can slap a preassembled module into an enclosure and then gussy it up.
    Still I dropped a like even though your soldering is at it's infancy..

    The temperature probe won't give a good measuring when you just glue it in place like that. You're supposed to use a thermal compound/adhesive for better heat conduct. Would have been more practical to use something like a mini ITX computer casing, so that you wouldn't have to keep the power supply and the amplifier itself in two separate and very Impractical parts.

    Please never take out a PSU board like that. Holding the board like that could've got you killed if those capacitors where charged.
    Also, please follow a tutorial on how to solder. You barely soldered the wire to the contact pads.
    Other than that, good install! Like the fact that you recycled an old PSU case.

Also for ppl here im designing a 1000watt guitar amp for sale in india only for now because my life has practically been a failure otherwise. Thinking about starting a company as soon as my audio engineering course gets over and i can fly back. #publicity

    Have a look at the size of the heatsink on this '600 watt' amp board, and imagine it running at high volume.....now imagine a 1200 watt baseboard heater and how hot that will get as it dissipates that heat. A slightly different analogy, yes, but I have my doubts as to the true power output of said Chinese amp.
