    Best all in one for sure. And I haven’t encountered a single issue when using it. Beat Jump isn’t the best, but apart from that just a solid piece. Worth the weight and price.

    Great video! I never owned/played any of the Pioneer media players, and the XZ is my first Pioneer device. Seems like I made a good choice. Cheers!

    I own one myself... Wish the decks would light up red when a track is playing & its missing key shift/sync but other then that its a 10/10

    The XDJ-XZ is the best sounding Pioneer DJ equipment I have heard.

    I think I’m going to splurge and get a model 1. I got burned with my Allen and heath db4 and them dropping support for it on Mac. You’re right use gear on stand alone. Wave forms are pretty but if you know your music it doesn’t matter. We shall see what traktor brings to the table in the next few months.

    How can you compare mixer & standalone system? It's a different stuff. And XDJ-XZ has a poor quality (I've got one for 1,5 year and mixer-section has some problems). Also master-cue is located inconveniently (yes, i'm using channel cue and master). And you can't use 4 channels just with XZ... So, i've sold it and don't regret. Now i have 2 xdj-1000mk2, 2 plx-1000, 2 cdj-500s (i love them) and djm-900nxs2.

    My friend got one a few weeks back, after waiting 9 months, i was straight round to his place to check it out………………when using it in serato mode, seems to be a delay when scratching with the jog wheels, exactly the same as my old cdj 2000s when in hid mode, put me right off. Cant understand why there is such a delay when all the denon sc players run in hid mode are flawless. I nearly sold my djm s11 se to get the xdj xz, so glad I hesitated and tried one out first

      If there is delay then it could be the computer and what the audio buffer is set at.

      @@TheDJLab its an i7 quad core macbook, 16Gb RAM, 500Gb SSD, buffer is set to 5ms………….its only ever pioneer gear in hid mode that does it for some reason, could run 2 sc6000m players in hid with no problem at all n they have the moving platters to take into account. I only got like a quick 10 minute go on it, will need to get a proper fiddle about with the settings etc, cause its a controller that def has my attention otherwise!

    Great video! Was curious about the cdj 3000 w the xdj... I'm in the middle of getting an extra cdj player and wanted to make sure it will work w this unit (xdj). Thanks!

      Cdj 3000s work . But not advised.. no digital input on xdj-xz and touch cue preview will not work. . Get xdj 1000 mk2

    Hi, first thanks for your great informative videos, I appreciate. I would like to ask about your experience with the gear concerning audio quality, which for me is one of the most important factors next to ergonomics and usability. A lot of people are complaining about Denons Stand-alone Prime series (which I experienced myself - flat, muddy, just not really good). I would like to know how you would compare analog out sound quality of CDJ2000nx2 vs. CDJ3000 vs XDJ-XZ. Thanks. Today I am using a DDJ-400 with Rekordbox and with external sound card Apogee Duet 2 which sounds very good (better than Pioneer DDJ1000 and a lot better than Denon Prime gear), but I would like to upgrade to better usability of FX control (DDJ400 very limited). Thanks again, Rob

    This would be my choice platform but the faders are garbage and can’t be replaced easily. Otherwise I think you’re spot on.

    I got molded plastic PA cabinets, I installed commercial movie cinema woofers & tweeters into the cabinets, I get tons of positive feedback regarding quality of sound, (great for weddings). My PA system can be turned up loud, but won't damage peoples hearing.

    The last thing any sound engineer wants is the DJ having master EQs on the outs - they will be fighting a never ending battle and needing to continually retune the rig. as a DJ you cannot even hear the FOH sound from where you are, so this is a crazy feature that is just going to cause problems.

    • @TheDJLab
      @TheDJLab  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not every dj is in a club or festival with sound engineers

    • @AlexAlcyone
      @AlexAlcyone 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@TheDJLab if there is no sound engineer then how can the rig possibly sound ok? If the DJ is ALSO running the rig then they will want to tune the rig at the rig not on the DJ mixer. Either way, you cannot even hear FoH from the DJ position. Booth EQ, certainly tho.

      @@skamarfire speaking as someone who has been both a DJ and has done sound for hundreds of shows... some DJs are cool and understand gain staging, clipping etc... but generaly it's a battle to get them to not wreck the sound. Believe me, if they can redline it and F it up, they will.

    Great video.
    Btw what do you mean that there is no digital support if you connect cdj3000?

    • @TheDJLab
      @TheDJLab  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No digital input on xdj-xz yellow plug. When I tan cdj 3000s on digital input on 900 nexus 2 vs red/white rca it was night and day difference in sound. So running 3000s is too expensive and makes no sense. Touch preview in 3000s also only works on v10 and 900 nexus 2. A useless trick as far as I'm concerned.

    How does the crossfader hold up for scratching? I play dnb but also hip hop and would like to use 1200s with this as well. Wish it had Magvel but it is what it is. Would consider it but have not been able to tell if it can take not a beating but regular use..

    Can anyone confirm how the FX section works with Serato? Does the NXS2 not receive BPM info for FX? You have to manually tap everything?
