Failed my first attempt ran out of time on the last station. Passed my second at 9:22. Here's what I fixed: Stair Climb - Hold the rails for the warm up Hose drag - Run with it Tunnel - keep hand on the right wall FORCED ENTRY ( IMPORTANT) : Hit it dead center! It doesn't have to be that hard just hit the middle! Dummy - lift him as high as you can before pulling Good luck 💪
@@vugibson no but I was told it's 60 steps per minuet. What's your suggestion to "save time"? I can't say where I went for fear of retaliation BUT that gigged me at the ceiling pull. I was under the impression everything flowed with the time
For the dummy drag, do you recommend sitting the dummy high up then turning your back towards the dummy , grabbing the handles to walk forward? 🏃♂️Can you do this instead of dragging the dummy backwards? I stopped 4 times on the dummy drag and ran out of time.
Do you have access to a rescue dummy? If yes, you can try it that way and see if you like it. In my experience, that is not a comfortable method and the candidates who have tried it that way during a test do not like it.
@@vugibson ugh I wish I did, but I do not have access. Do you know how I could practice with a practice dummy? Or what can simulate it? I figured I'd try it out because the traditional method just kills my legs. Maybe I'm not leaning in enough. I noticed that the dummy doesn't hit the candidates knees in the video. However the dummy always hits against mine. Then about a quarter of the way there I get so tired and I have to stop. For some reason I can't continue straight throuvh without stopping. And I would say I'm pretty fit :/
@@jameswillson2000 There's a variety of ways to simulate the drag. A friction sled would good great if you could find one (cross-fit facility); rigging some straps on a tractor tire (something close to 165lbs). Heavy punching bag could be another possibility.

The vest is 50lbs. You will wear this throughout the entire test. Remember, you must wear 75lbs during the Stair Climb: 50lb vest plus two, 12.5lb sleeves (one on each shoulder).

Congratulations on your test, and thank you for providing your suggestions.
In which state did you pass?
Texas
@@clintonjames8721 Interesting. Again, we are glad if we were of any help with the test - good luck with your application(s). Have a great week.
@@clintonjames8721 why lift him as high as you can? Curious. I have mine april 7th
Great video to get you prepared and know what to expect before testing.
Glad that you enjoyed it and hopefully it helped you in your test.
After the 20 second warmup count to 180
Thank you for the suggestion. I have a question: were you able to see the display monitor during your test?

@@turtledude553 Counting to 180 is not a bad idea - keeps your mind occupied during the climb, regardless if you can see the monitor or not.
@@turtledude553 What do you mean by "save time." Do you mean throughout the test?
@@vugibson yes because I got to the very last section and ran outta time
Very helpful video

Whats the stop time of the cpat? I got bounced at end with 10:20 AGAIN
Each site may do it differently. Did they tell you at which point the clock stops?
@@vugibson I was wackin away at the ceiling and they called it at 10:20
At our facility, the watch stops when the candidate completes the final pull (last bang of the weights).
@@vugibson how many times do you have to push up and pull down?
@@turtledude553 Event 8: 3 pushes + 5 pulls = 1 set. Event requires 4 sets.
