i mean... understandable mistake, seeing the entire game so far has been all about zorah magdaros, and someone who doesnt know iceborne starts by entering the winter wonderland, it seems the true base ending would be the dlc.

@@TheBlindWeasel the regular diablos we hunt could either be female or male, there is no increased chance for a male or female. As sweet tooth said, Black diablos are indeed females, and the only guaranteed females we can hunt.

I never understood that reaction to the Palico doing that. After having owned many cats, you can give them all the affection and love in the world. Only for them to decide, nah they like that other person more than you.

Always glad to see players who are new to Monster Hunter in general plays a Monster Hunter Game.
World was my first and I didn’t even wanna play it at all, I only wanted to stick to CoD and Overwatch. I still play it from almost launch until this day. I’ve beaten it at least 6 times now from ps4 to pc and it’s still fun. Definitely worth a try for everyone.

i think the hammer is really op in the early game with the ammount of stuns it does
i remember starting mhw and the first difficult opponent that i encounter was the rathian too
first time i fainted in the game it was only then that i try to understand how to use my weapon Charge blade
turns out it was a mistkae choosing it as the starting weapon since it wasa the hardest to learn
i didn't start doing my combo and understanding the phials until the high ranks
not really this game is extremely easy

(Ive played every single one my first game was tri) But man clutchclaw made it where theres essentially 4 fun weapons gunlance,greatsword,hammer,and longsword because all of them either require 1 clutchclaw or none i hate that mechanic so damn much love the idea if the open world aspect in the maps cant wait for wilds but clutchclaw makes it suck

It should be clarified that hunters aren't humans. They're what remains of the ancient civilization's artificial race of genetically engineered super soldiers.
They just look human.
It'd be more accurate to call them the mostly stabilized descendants of wyverian homonculi. (This is also why they and the palicos have similar lifespans)

0:03 no those games are only similar in the concept of a weakling defeating the impossible threat with high skill ceiling, their gameplay are completely unique to each other
I dunno, as a souls player coming to monster hunter I definitely felt right at home with the gameplay. It has pretty big differences of course, but the combat and its mechanics were similar enough for me to adjust quickly.
@@KogasaTatara514similar ENOUGH. The idea alone that you're a fragile mortal taking on a god level threat is "similar enough." Similarities are: you have to play carefully by not attacking when the monster is, unless you know you're safe. Differences are: number of unique weapons, weapon depth, sharpness, dodging limitations, enviromental hazards to use against the enemy, where the difficulty comes from, the idea of a hub location/quests, and a large number of things I can't think of right now. Having experience with Souls games may make you better at it, unless you think of it as one. You have a LOT of items, and aren't forced to just "play better" to win. You have chances to recover and restock before the next battle. Monsters don't heal, for the most part. You win by being smart, not just by being untouchable, though that certainly is nice. Experimentation is at the heart of this game's ideals. "What happens when i do this at this time? I get a knockdown." If the idea that Monster Hunter is like a Souls game helps, then use it. But i will have to adamantly disagree.
@@barbedfungus3877 and this guy said they were completely unique. If it was similar enough for me to catch on quickly clearly they're not "completely unique", that's all. Some key mechanics, like dodge rolls with invincibility frames, and a bunch of weapons types with their unique movesets, are enough for me to say "oh yeah, I know how this works". I didn't say they were THAT similar, or that a majority of features and mechanics were shared, or anything like that.

@@KogasaTatara514 Really? As someone who's favorite combat of all time is MH, and worst I've had the displeasure of playing is any From game made in the past 15 years, I have trouble seeing similarities beyond basic surface level vague concepts.
I mean, MH is all about finely tuned gameplay, while most modern From games feel like they were never even playtested.

For those who don't know your not supposed to defeat the rathian at that point just distract it then run that's why she was being so annoying because it was trying to tell you to stop fighting and focus on the actual mission

Watching you fight the Rathian when you were specifically supposed to avoid it was hilarious.
Tip;
You can tell if a monster is enraged when it's heartbeat (seen below it's icon in the bottom left corner) is erratic and showing an orange pulse. If it's calm, the pulse will remain blue and less chaotic. You can use this to your advantage to stagger the monster into a nearby barrier and knock it(when calm), and to inflict damage to its head since you're a hammer main. The direction you send the monster in is whatever direction it's currently facing, so time it right. Also, be aware when you're attempting this, as when you try to knock it over for the first time, you only get 3 chances to control the movement of the monster before sending it into a wall. Try any more and the monster will roar and stun you, causing you to fall off the monster's head, and angering the monster. Also, if you had recently knocked the monster into a barrier successfully, and it isn't angered, you can attempt it again, only that now you'll only get 1 chance to change the direction, after that it's either send it or get stunned; and if the monster doesn't hit a barrier in time while it's being sent in a certain direction, it will recover from it, and make the notion pointless.

@@randybellwood1778 This one especially was bad because the “cute girl who eats a lot” was forced onto us. For some, it was because she wasn't customizable. For me it was similar when I found out you could once but also because I hate the “skinny girl who eats everything and everyone thinks she's cute” shit. My palico also hugged this total stranger, she has a weapon for no reason apparently and she is a really stupid sympathy bait character. It depends on the navi-type, Navirou in MHS wasn't as bad as he was MHS2 along with Ena who are just two abusive friends who do absolutely nothing but compare me to my grandfather and then shame me for a mistake that wasn't my fault instead of actually helping. Some characters and storylines are too hamfisted and The Handler was one of them but that's every token “pretty girl” and I hated being the only dark skinned female and getting to pick how she looked even if she had to be female would have made the experience better for me. I never got far in World, so I was happy to give Rise a go and I like it so much better.
I don't mind her TOO much, I just wish she wouldn't pester me so much on hunts.
Plus, she can never replace she who calls me "doodle". The same way that Poogie can never win my heart from Moofy.

Were you intentionally playing on hard mode by not eating meat?
Usually you go to the canteen before the hunt so you can get the passive bonuses, after your first faint or a Time you have to eat in order to get your health and stamina back. Cooked meat 🍖 can be made ahead of time you can hold 10 at a time and your health and stamina will deplete as your hunter gets hungry. That's why you keep easily getting knocked out.
If you forget to go to the canteen before going on a hunt or you go on an expedition you can have your handle or cook you a meal at camp.
i didnt really capitalize on the meals until I got to HR, thats why I take so much damage from monsters sneezing it me 😭

Typically how I would do it is I go to a canteen and get a meal for the buffs, usually go with chef's choice cuz options are limited until you get the whole ingredients list.
As soon as I load into the hunt I just Chow down on some cooked meet to top it up. If I see my health is depleting on my stamina is depleting I quickly run away eat some meat and then go back.
Keeping your Hunter fed is just as important as keeping your weapon sharpened, play should probably just change it so hammers is instead of being sharpened your tightening all the bolts that are being shaken apart.

Something that will help you greatly when playing Monster Hunter in general is when you run away from a monster and push the button to roll you'll actually do a Superman dive which has invincibility frames

25:10 you know, you could capture the monsters instead of slaying them. The objective is to "hunt" the monster, this includes capturing. Capturing is mostly easier than slaying too, you generally only need to slay elder dragons and you haven't faced many yet.
