    Doris, the 98 year old woman, reminds me so much of my grandma, who’s passed. I miss her so much. It’s comforting to see how kind all of y’all are, especially to the elderly. Thank you! 🥰

    Wow! I swear Jane looks 20 years younger with the dark hair. I did love the lavender vibe, though.💜

    I love Jane and all of the staff seem sooo nice! If I had life to do over again I think I'd move across the pond and have my nursing career at Barnsley Hospital. If I were to choose nursing again...which I wouldn't! lol I loved my elderly patients that I chose to focus my career on. They are precious, and precocious!

    some nurses are angels; I've been in hospital for over 3 weeks and I caught a chest infection here so I'm on supplemental oxygen and overall having a rubbish time, and these two nurses came and made me two ghosts out of bandages to make me feel better lol.

    I wish they would set time limits at our local hospital's ED. Last time I was there I waited 6 hours shoved in a back corner on an empty hall with empty beds yelling for help. When they finally came and roughly pushed me into a room I waited another hour and a half just to have the Dr. come in and yell at me that I was a waste of time. I don't go to the ER unless I'm in severe shape. I will never go again, but just pass away at my home. Screw SHMC in N.V. TN, USA. They will never get another penny out of me!

      Same at Kaiser. Awful. But here, in Oregon, we were seen within 20 minutes, and they did all the tests. My husband thought he was having a heart attack, but he had just pulled a muscle. I am usually very happy with my current medical care. I fight with my doctor a lot, but I get excellent care. And I’m ridiculously healthy 💝

      Canadian here. I know that you have heard fairy tales about Canada's health care system. It's in Dire straits, and I don't mean the band.
      I've done the six and a half hour wait in emergency. And had an over worked struggling doctor apologize deeply and profusely for making me wait with my awful pain and condition.
      There are also not enough doctors outside of Southern Ontario. It's frightening. I live in Toronto, so it's OK for me. But my brother and sister in law in Kelowna, BC, don't have a doctor. Kelowna is a beautiful place, but the doctors aren't coming.
      Too much stress on the system, not enough funding.

      @@SandraNelson063 I'm so sorry to hear that healthcare is not what it should be for Canadians. I believe the healthcare crisis is a worldwide disgrace. I hope to be wrong about that.

    Wow , the hospital workplace in the UK is definitely a lot more 'easy going' than here in the USA. A charge nurse would not be able to say many of the things Sister Jane says or show any of the physical contact that she shows. Definitely speaking about a well known celebrity in the Dept is also a huge no no. This ED definitely looks like a fun place to work though.

      I wish we had only 4 hours wait time in America! I went in by ambulance and was there 7 hours. 5 hours waiting on test results!

      Dickie Bird will have signed consent for this! In fact, it will have been planned jn advance as this was A and E and he was at the hospital for a follow up appointment. Wish people wouldn't romanticise the UK with no real knowledge 🙄 also we often wait upwards of 8 hours in A and E. Why would it be different here than the US in that regard? The only difference here is that luckily it's free.

    I've been watching this series since it started & love it. The staff at Barnsley A&E have become like family to me. They are all amazing people & they seem so much nicer & caring than a lot of emergency personnel I've dealt with here in Canada. I know they say a lot of things differently from us & i love listening to them but i just want to know one thing. They are always saying to their patients, I'm going to do this, "Is that ok?" & I'm going to give you this, "Is that alright?" I don't understand why they always say those things. Of course it's ok! It's not like the patients are going to say, no, it's not ok. They came to casualty for help, to get better & it's the doctors & nurses who know what to do, not the patient, so why are they always saying/asking that?? It's just something I want to know why, because they say it 4 or 5 times with every patient.

    I wonder if they have discovered HOKAS? All the doctors and dentists in Springfield/Eugene wear them. They are stupidly expensive but possibly the most comfortable walking shoes I’ve ever worn. I have to wear them everyday to amortize the cost, but I think of them as a health aide. They have little rockets in the heels that push me forward. They just enlarged their line and the gorgeous colors are making me drool. 🤪😎🤗

    • @Emnotreal123

      Wouldn't you want someone whose caring for you to have clean clothes? Traveling to work via, bus, tube, bike, walking .. dirty and germ laden areas. No hospital health care worker should come in their work uniform.. ( jmo)

    • @danaw23
      @danaw23 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      It’s because of a variety of reasons including pet hair or other allergens staff could bring from home as well as unnecessary smells like fabric softener sheets that can cause problems for patients with breathing issues or migraines. Plus it’s a perk for staff not having to take home scrubs with not only all bodily fluids but infectious diseases.

    • @katis7673
      @katis7673 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's a European standard that people only change in and out of work clothes to not carry anything in, and vice versa not carry anything out.

      @@danaw23I would still take my scrubs home in a plastic bag and wash them at home. All that laundry that goes in together at the hospital with sheets, blankets, pillowcases with all those bodily fluids in them.
