This game was location tested in arcades in 1992. In arcades in 1992, you may have heard of a little game called *Street Fighter II* which completely dominated arcades of the time. Along with other 1992 hits such as The Simpsons, this game had no chance to make enough money in location testing to compete.
It was location testing to be exhibited at the American tradeshow but unfortunately put on hold, due to Street Fighter II being a huge hit and Guardians of the 'Hood is determined to release.
There is a trackball version that exists as a prototype, but it is still undumped. Collectors really don't want to see their unique unreleased arcade games have their roms dumped.
Anyone know why some of the sprites (like the 4x4 tile ones at the beginning, some more right before the end and the projectiles in the final boss fight) are glitching out like that with the weird animation? Part of the story? GBA cart version weirdness? Either way, great game great run, thanks guys :)

I can't believe this game didn't get released, it's incredible. Amazing runs.
I would say that the publishers got attacked by madness!
I played Marble Madness 1 so much back on my NES. Have the urge to grab it tonight from my attic and will play it again.
This game has serious early 90s MS DOS energy.
Lez goooooo WHEN'S MARBLE
I can’t believe I’ve never even heard of this before, this was so wild and fun and what a wonderful energy from the couch and runners
The game was a Prototype. Only recently Dumped and Emulated in MAME.
The Site Tests, did not really go well.

Super fun! This is the first time I've seen this game all the way through. It's so creative!
Amazing run!!
That was fun to watch!
So much fun to watch!
This was such an exciting race! I loved the energy, had no idea that Marble Madness would have such a passionate community, ha ha
So much crazier looking than the first game on NES.
Dayum!!!!
The Marvel heads see what you did there.
Why was this game not released? Looks great
The prototype did poorly in test arcades and Street Fighter II was the hot new game.
There's a II?!

Does anybody play this with a proper trackball? Seems like something is missing...
There was no trackball version
