In fact, Owens stayed at the best hotels in Germany with all the other white athletes at a time when the US still had white only hotels and colored motels. When Owens was walking past Hitler's box, they waved at each other. Owens received a signed framed photo of Hitler (all the athletes got them). The German crowds loved Owens and cheered him wildly. sorry for the long comment but hope this helps, it's from a biography of Jesse Owens One popular tale that arose from Owens’s victories was that of the “snub,” the notion that Hitler refused to shake hands with Owens because he was an African American. In truth, by the second day of competition, when Owens won the 100-metre final, Hitler had decided to no longer publicly congratulate any of the athletes. The previous day the International Olympic Committee president, angry that Hitler had publicly congratulated only a few German and Finnish winners before leaving the stadium after the German competitors were eliminated from the day’s final event, insisted that the German chancellor congratulate all or none of the victors. Unaware of the situation, American papers reported the “snub,” and the myth grew over the years.
Bill Burr is the best, some good videos to watch is when he and his wife ( who is black) watch documentary on elvis, the helicopter story, never okay to hit a woman, or his podcast where he talks with his wife they are all hilarious. Dave Chapelle and Bill Burr are the best stand-ups. Competition isnt even close! I believe Bill wrote for the Chapelle show, too. You guys do a great job, btw! Really like your reactions.
I feel, just as an observer, that when the gentleman in the middle hushed the gentleman on the right and didn’t let him finish his thought, that after that, the gentleman on the right seemed to have a little trouble staying in the moment, it felt like his mind was somewhere else and he was trying to react without actually hearing what he was listening to. That’s just my observation.
My Dad ran track and field back in the late 50's, his event was 120 yd high hurdles and 180 low hurdles. At State he ran a 15.0 for the 120 high hurdles but lost by a tenth of a second, however in the 180 yd low's he placed first with a 19.9. Not bad for a white boy from the Chicago burbs.
Jesse Owens and Luz Long showed the world how deep the human wish to connect and interact and learn from each other is imbedded in all of us and what strong bonds and friendships we can build if we just decide to trust the voice inside of us and not the ones build outside trying to dictate our desires. I use to run track in high school and I got what you were saying about the divide a couple minutes in. I ran sprint & long distance and long distance was majority white, sprint was majority black. Then the races in the middle like the 400 that is long for sprint but short for long distance were pretty evenly divided & mixed up. But track is such a unifying sport so it’s never really talked about when you’re at events. Not as much judgement in track as in other sports. I did notice that much.
There are sports like running where black people are better in general and there are other sports like strongman contests or weightlifting where white people are better or ping pong where asians are better etc..You can't say that someone particular is better in everything because there are many different fields and varieties..But yeah in general it seems that black people do better in activities that require good lower body strength and white people do better in activities that require good upper body strength..Of course this is not always the case and there are exceptions also.
1) You're too young to remember "Jimmy the Greek" (real name Jimmy Snyder). He got fired in 1988 from his job on TV talking about the NFL for saying that it's because of breeding practices during slavery that so many African-Americans are superior athletes. 2) You're absolutely right about track athletes. At the Olympics, most of the white people who win medals run middle or long distance races. As a white guy, I say "so what?" I just root for the Americans. It's the people who think this is a problem and try to figure out why that say stupid things or have hate in their hearts. On the other hand, as Bill Burr said, the "good" people can become so afraid of saying the wrong thing that they deny what is obviously true.

A touching Jesse Owens story is his friendship with German track star Luz Long who ran in '36, too. When Owens won, the two men hugged in front of Hitler. Luz died in 1943 fighting for the Nazis, and his last letter to Jesse asked him to "someday find my son... tell him about how things can be between men on this Earth."

One popular tale that arose from Owens’s victories was that of the “snub,” the notion that Hitler refused to shake hands with Owens because he was an African American.
It was actually the american president FDR who snubbed Jesse Owens
@@vederianl9723 And, from what I've read, Owens became an instant celebrity to the Germany people. Cheered and welcomed wherever he went.
Brilliant reaction video! I think Jessie Owens deliberately gave them a 5m head start knowing he'd cruise by at the end! :D
iirc Jesse Owens was the first athlete to run the 100 yard dash in under 10 seconds?
appreciate that intro man, Been down bad mentally and that intro is quite uplifting and inspiring. Ty
YALLL NEED TO DO BILL BURR THE PHILLY RANT!!!!....ITS WHAT MADE HIM A LEGEND
cheers for that vid at the end, never seen that before.
Bill Burr is the best, some good videos to watch is when he and his wife ( who is black) watch documentary on elvis, the helicopter story, never okay to hit a woman, or his podcast where he talks with his wife they are all hilarious. Also his roasting people videos are great. Even his visits to Conan O'Brian are classics.
Bill burr does a podcast and his wife nia is on a lot. I listen from TH-cam. Its hilarious
Dave Chapelle and Bill Burr are the best stand-ups. Competition isnt even close!
I believe Bill wrote for the Chapelle show, too.
You guys do a great job, btw! Really like your reactions.
I can’t take my eyes of the guy on the right. When you see he clearly doesn’t want to laugh, but does a few times. Respect
Damn you guys run track as well, I like this channel even more now
My Dad ran track and field back in the late 50's, his event was 120 yd high hurdles and 180 low hurdles. At State he ran a 15.0 for the 120 high hurdles but lost by a tenth of a second, however in the 180 yd low's he placed first with a 19.9. Not bad for a white boy from the Chicago burbs.
Owens is Golden. Forever remembered
Jesse Owens and Luz Long showed the world how deep the human wish to connect and interact and learn from each other is imbedded in all of us and what strong bonds and friendships we can build if we just decide to trust the voice inside of us and not the ones build outside trying to dictate our desires. Great story to check out, you wouldn't regret it.
Hey guys! Loved how your showed the old clip at the end. It's almost surreal, but wow, he was a great athlete!!! Peace from Canada
Absolutely love you guys. Great videos, solid commentary. That background hum gota go tho, fellas. Mic to close to the PC or something? Picking up a fan? Not sure hopefully yall can figure it out.
Patrice O'Neal comedy special "Elephant in the Room ". One of the best specials ever. Also, Patrice was Bill Burrs favorite comedian. They were best friends.
The joy yu all show in this video lifted me up.
“I said rare!” Lol 😂
I’m a Caucasian dude and agree 100% with you man.
I just love ya'll! Thanks for the extra clips!
Thanks for playing Jesse Owens. I was cheering with the crowds until I passed my coffee through my nose!
Thanks for showing us the video of the races. So sweet of you. ✌🏻
It's also erroneous to simply assume these results represent ability while ignoring the relevance of interest and commitment.
Thanks for breaking down why his joke is incorrect....
Boxing requires "good upper body strength" and Black people are the only race to completely dominate Boxing for more than a century 😂
@@seigeengine Lol most races are not interested or committed that much to sprinting because they know Black guys are the most explosive in Sprinting 😂
I love the opening dose of gratitude, you dudes are the real deal. Just came across your channel but I’m loving it
Bro sitting there with 3 one dollar bills in his hand like it’s a stack of hundreds 🤣
Even when black people laugh they run thats how much deep it goes 8:47
There’s a 200m and 4x100 video of Jesse Owens. Jesse and Robinson demolished their competition in the first two exchanges.
Love you guys....feels like I am watching this with a bunch of friends. Bill is funny as shit.
Bill's comedy seems to age much better than most.
Thanks for adding the clip ..I'd never seen it before !!!!!
LoL I was homeless sleeping outside for almost five years so I'm glad you're appreciative of the blessings of a roof
Bill Burr "Some people need lotion" and "Helicopter Story" are hilarious :)
I mean, it's not really ambiguous why. It's a very specific group that consistently outperforms the rest in sprinting. We know why.
@@seigeengine You're saying what is happening, not why.
@@JPMadden Wow, I didn't know that!
@@seigeengine OK, so is the "why" a secret? Everyone might be familiar with what you're talking about, if you'll tell us.
@@JPMadden people dont want to see the obvious.. no different than south Americans comming in waves to MLB.. kids grow up hittin a fuckin rock with a stick playin baseball 9 hrs a day. Same as Korean women crushing it in golf.
Your reactions are so detailed. The fact that you put the clip from another video was very informative. Just gained a subscriber.
I’ll tell you what hombres I watched Matthew Boling in person in the stands kick ass as a senior in high school track and take over at the Texas Relays in 2019!!!!! Yep he was the only white boy who could hold his own but dam he had it going on that weekend and he is continuing to hold his own!!!!! Just saying!!!! So says Austin Tx!!!!! 🥳🥳😎🍸
Thanks for pulling up clips of those references
This was the last Olympics before the War. So glad that you checked it out.
Just subscribed and started watching your vids...love them😎👊🏽❤️...live the footage of Jesse Owens , he is an Ohio State Buckeye also lol..those races weren't even close.🏃🏾♂️.............🏃♀️🏃
“I heard in a video hitler didn’t shake his hand” “he was that salty?”
LOL at the surprise in your voice about hitler being salty
Cool Thanks for the bonus races. That was epic!
You guys always crack me up with all your reactions. I really enjoyed watching you all react to linkin park. You all should do a reaction to Linkin Park - One More Light Live (Chris Cornell Tribute). It was a live event and really showed Chester's emotional side. This will give you chills!
My dude on the left. So glad to see you enjoying it and laughing. Middle guy broke a smile but dude on right was so serious lol. JUST LAUGH MAN.
I love when he said no. You can't be scientists but if there was a race to the microscopes you would win best line ever😂😂😂😂
That was your interpretation? There was nowhere that he said you CAN'T be a scientist.
@@DanielRamirez-iq3wv I'm sorry I was probably buzzed and didn't spell check and yes he said no I'm not saying you can't be scientists I'm just saying if there was a race to the microphones they would win LOL sorry I hope this clears it up
adding that video of the Olympics was a BONUS! THANK YOU!!!
One time I had a dream that I won a foot-race against a black athlete. It was awesome.
I couldn't tell you what kind of faces black guys make when they run because I only ever see the back of y'all. I like to think that y'all are at least breathing hard and trying. 😂
Just found you guys. Really enjoy the content. Geaux Cajuns!
Please do Tom Segura, "The First 48" and another one called "Bikes!!"
He's one of the funniest dudes ever.
Also, he had one called "Shouting Black"
The scared straight one was awesome
Dudes… I really enjoy y’all’s channel. When y’all mentioned track, that y’all run in track, I started looking it up. I’m now a track fan, never been one before! Keep doing good and thanks

Damn watching that end bit with y’all was so wholesome thanku sm for adding that onto this ❤
Fella's, you're by far my favorite group reaction video producers. You keep it rollin, honest responses and you keep it on the up. Abby Stiener ( go BBN ) is a stud..... keep it up. " wag-wan "
Excellent, guys! And Jesse Owens at the end was really great. Thank you. People should always remember.

“Luz Long” of Germany. Please cover his friendship during those Olympics with Jesse Owens. It’s effen cool.
Man you guys are awesome, keep it up.
good to see Bill makes you laugh.. and good to see how special your history is.
that's true! I never noticed that before, how slow his knees were pumping at the start. He was playing with them, he knew they couldn't keep up. I like that. He had to be smiling to himself the whole way.
Y'all are awesome
Hey man, you guys are such a great group of friends love your videos
A touching Jesse Owens story is his friendship with German track star Luz Long who ran in '36, too. When Owens won, the two men hugged in front of Hitler. Luz died in 1943 fighting for the Nazis, and his last letter to Jesse asked him to "someday find my son... tell him about how things can be between men on this Earth."
11:40 The reaction to Jess Owens wining gold...priceless!
I laugh so well with all of you EVERY time you post a video.
Great time.
Thank you
Track was started in Greece thousands of years back, so they didn't invent track escaping slavery.
Enjoyed!! Thanks guys. I've seen Jesse Owens in several videos, a phenomenal athlete.
13:23 he said “there go another one hahaha” that shit killed me
Mooney wrote for Richard Pryor. A true pioneer of black comedy.
Jesse Owens did win the Olympics in that race and the man who almost walked him down was Mack Robinson brother of Jackie Robinson. I found that out many years ago and it still amazes me.
Gentlemen love the way y’all are sharing! Neal young, cortez the killer, listen to the words! Good guitar also! He played Woodstock! Crosby steals Nash young…. Your neighbor from Texas!!
I have totally ended up binge watching. It's like hanging out when I was younger.
