I remember recently transgender people tried to cancel Dave Chappelle for making jokes about transgender people. Dave literally makes jokes about everyone, and as everyone can see, he probably makes jokes about white people the most. I am white and I dont care one bit because Dave is funny as hell. There is a difference between a comedian making jokes and someone saying hateful stuff in a serious manner. Comedians get a creative pass on that stuff, especially when they are as funny as Dave.
Dave was friends with a trans MTF comedian that loved his jokes, was inspired and encouraged by him, and when the controversy happened defended him. She was called a traitor, fake trans, doxxed, and harassed until she killed herself. By the people that "cared" and were "helping" and "defending" trans people. That's how I know the people hating Dave and parroting it for likes don't give a damn about actually protecting or helping anyone. Just like 95% of the other times anyone these days is outraged.
I've stopped watching certain TH-cam channels, no longer go on Twitter and stay away from news and gossip sites. No TikTok either. I figure if it's important enough, it'll somehow get to me ... I even take a TH-cam break in the summer, and sometimes I'll shut my phone off all weekend. I highly recommend doing something similar. When the only lens you look through is what you actually see in person, the world looks a lot different. It's amazing how it improves your mental health, especially when you replace it with something outdoors or some kind of activity (for me it's mountain biking)!
As a 44 year old white woman I love Dave Chapelle & Bill Burr. Especially the truth they speak! It's nice to see you young men on this journey appreciating great music and comedy that could be long forgotten, however you are the ones who will keep it alive✌

Most great comedians speak straight facts, but the way Dave in particular delivers it, it's just pure gold!
He lives in a town near me. When we had a mass shooting a few years ago, Dave brought a bunch of artists to our downtown for a concert, raising money for the victims' families. He is a good man, as well as a hilarious comedian. He even did outdoor shows with a lot of comedians during the lockdown.

Bet a lot of these people love laughing at jokes about stereotypes/races but as soon as it's about them they get all up in arms about it. None of them would make a comment about him saying only poor white people go to walmarts etc. It's not like real life when people make fun of others, you have to specifically seek out these shows and if it does offend you then simply don't watch it 🤷.
It's hard not to say Chappelle is the best with his stand up + Chapelle show. He has bits and skits that will stand the test of time - baby on the corner, racial draft, clayton, rick james, prince, wayne brady - he's a genius. But Bill Burr's line "they lifted their Gucci booted feet and crossed over the oppression line" might be one of the greatest lines of comedy ever written.
I LOVE comedy. I've watched so many comedians over my 58 years, and I can almost see the joke coming. But with Dave, I quit trying to figure out the punchline a long time ago, because I never see it coming.
