(Some may believe that it is the Snow Elves "Comeuppance") My only thought I could come up with which like you say (Some of the other arrivals may have been either just Adventuers etc) is that Ysgramor must have been some bit of Royalty back home so of course they would pledge to aide him... Otherwise wouldn't have they just locked him up when he returned or even just executed him?? I like how Elder Kings 2 handeled the Tsaesci. Where they look like normal men, but once they partake in the "consumption" of another person they take on more snakelike qualities. Which would explain the mixed reports of some seeming like normal men and others more like a snake.
I have a highly theoretical theory that Im curious what u think the feasability is, or if you can think of sources Ive missed (either supporting or competing) Is it possible that the Alduin we see in Skyrim is not the Nord god but instead an imposter? I was rereading some lore recently when I noticed something in Mysterious Akavir, a reference to the "black dragons" the Tsaesci supposedly tried to enslave (and likely eat if they are vampires) and it made me think about Alduin, a Black Dragon. Now first it should probably be explained what the mythological Alduin is: he is the Nordic variant of Akatosh (according to "The Alduin/Akatosh Dichotomy" and "Varieties of Faith" (ESO version was used), its also backed up by the Dragon God section of "The Monomyth") Is responsible for eating the world (ending the kalpa) Takes dragon form the most important part of this is that he is a god, being in control of time (a myth highlighting this is "Old Knocker" from the Songs of Wulfharth, where Alduin is able to de-age the nords to 6 by "eating" their time) we can also be pretty sure that the Nord gods do exist in some manner as we go to Sovengarde and meet Tsun in person. Now for the "Alduin" we meet in Skyrim: He (to my knowledge) never actually claims the title of the world-eater, while he does refer to himself as "Alduin" the closest he gets to claiming any power over time would be "Zu'u unslaad! Zu'u nis oblaan!" (I am eternal! I cannot end!) at the end of the game He is referred to by himself as "Firstborn of Akatosh" which goes against the more common and likely true belief that Akatosh and Alduin are the same being. Paarthurnax calls Alduin "The Eldest" and "a brother" now there is actually a slight issue with this, Akatosh is himself a dragon, yet supposedly Alduin was the first dragon, implying either Alduin was made by Akatosh before Akatosh existed, is Akatosh, or this is a simple oversight in the writing department, that or Alduin was instead the first dragon to be made to walk on Mundus (or fly i guess) implying an inherrent inferiority to the god that has previously been established Now this brings into question: what else could Alduin be? I believe that the Alduin we meet is simply the oldest of the dragons on Mundus, he is not the Nordic god Alduin, instead taking that name and lying to mortals and other Dovah, claiming to be a being of divine nature to control others (also explains why other dragons would choose to follow him despite their dominating nature, perhaps fake Alduin uses his false title to threaten to eat the world if the other Dovah step out of line) I also believe that Alduin's origins come from Akavir, that he was a Black Dragon that fled north towards Kamal and eventually Atmora instead of into Ka Po'Tun, he then arrived to Atmora where the other dragons may have already been (I don't particularly care about their origins for this theory) and used his age (Im assuming for this all dragons were birthed in the same place before scattering at various points in time, thus would likely all know him to be the eldest dragon) to claim to be their father, the real Alduin. And afterwards used his claimed godhood to threaten other dovah into submission, allowing him to use his dragon cult to dominate Atmora and later Skyrim. However even if anything else I've said makes sense it means nothing if I don't explain the recycling of Alduin's soul at the end of Skyrim, but I believe I have an answer: The real Alduin/Akatosh was deeply frustrated at the imposter Alduin for taking his name and claiming to be the true world-eater, so Alduin/Akatosh took Alduin's soul to be tortured rather than absorbed by the last dragonborn
Nutbrown redish in fall and winter and a more redbrown color in spring and summer, enough to be considered ginger but not enough to be called carrothead 😂
considering every trace of the men of Akavir have been just that, men, I think it would be safe to bet they are just men and maybe the snake part is something of a metaphor. Such as them being "as cunning as a snake". Brown. There are even notable Akavir such as the world boss Sword Master Vhysradue and Proconsul Beloren-Kaie who shows up as a very human ghost.
Most interesting, I have an interest in the study of early hominids and their ancestors and contemporary cousins. So, I then started to apply the principles to Tamriel. what if in the early times when the Nords were new arrived and the snow elven still pur but in an early stage of development. A period of Glacial expansion forced even the Snow elves to migrate south in small wondering tribes, at some point in the northwest of Tamriel the Snow elves encountered a small tribe of Bosimer on the tundra, joining together they moved towards the coast and found a complex of wide canyons that benefited from a slightly warmer climate due to a warm sea current that helpt keep the land at an alpine ecologie, with warm summers allowing farming but cold but survivable winters. Over time they inter bred and became the people of the Wolf after the White wolf who led them to their refuge. Amaki the protector and guide of the people became their chosen deity. Later the entrance to the canyons became blocked by glaciers and isolated the people of the wolf. Existing through a mix of seasonal farming and hunter gathering. I admit a direct steal from Native American mythology, but it fitted the narrative I was looking for. I did a role play as a member of the people of the wolf called Uncus the Wolf Dreamer, but that's a whole other story.
Lore is the soul and core of ES and any Bethesda game. Remember everyone that the algorithm demands your tribute for more from Imperial Knowledge, like and subscribe and comment. The Nymphs being not present in ESO is pretty obvious, NSFP and likely the alliance war on top of daedra being active and all manners of drama means they are isolated until things calm down. They are sort of like fantasy hippies running nudist colonies in Elder Scrolls.
27:35 Is this character's (the shapeshifting woman) name spelled Soling? If so, there *could* be a reference to her in Skyrim! In Bleak Falls Barrow, as you approach Arvel, he calls out for a few people, one being a 'Soling'. After you enter the room, the wounded giant frostbite spider descends. Definitely not a lore point, but just a tidbit that connected in my head. :) And also could be wrong!

(Some may believe that it is the Snow Elves "Comeuppance")
My only thought I could come up with which like you say (Some of the other arrivals may have been either just Adventuers etc) is that Ysgramor must have been some bit of Royalty back home so of course they would pledge to aide him... Otherwise wouldn't have they just locked him up when he returned or even just executed him??
The only reason I mention this is cause at one point I didn't even know Snow Elves existed and I mayyyy or may not have an Afinity towards them lol.
Also love the Videos been watching on and off for a few years now, one last question what is your accent?
Cheers!
What is the player is a changeling because we can morph in to any race and pick that race
Any chance we can get a massive evolutionary tree of Nirn's races at some point? I know it's incomplete and that evolution on nirn works a bit differently than evolution on Earth, but I'm really interested in what the farthest back common ancestor of the races we see in game would be.
Honestly learnt a lot from this video, thank you! A sandy kinda blonde.
The sinistral elves or left handed elves fan arts réf hair are surely because of the gerufid from ocarina of time
Thank you YT homepage for the hookup
it would be cool to see an immortal or spiritual Lilmothiit character in the future. the race still being extinct, but there still being one legendary one left alive.
Cliche, tbh. Nothing new under the sun, I guess.
@ fair, but how else would they be able to introduce an extinct species character? i guess they could always go to a previous era in the elder scrolls universe but if they didn’t want to, it would be cool to see the spirit of one as a character. i’d much rather see them as a playable race tho
That was all very interesting
Someone made a neat music track called "Last of the Lilmothiit", for an oblivion mod project that was never completed, if I remember correctly. I still visit Newgrounds now and then to listen to it. :)
I like how Elder Kings 2 handeled the Tsaesci. Where they look like normal men, but once they partake in the "consumption" of another person they take on more snakelike qualities. Which would explain the mixed reports of some seeming like normal men and others more like a snake.
my cat likes these videos and she watches them with me lol she is very very old so it's good we found something she likes other than The Muppets
yaaa a new zork video!!
I have a highly theoretical theory that Im curious what u think the feasability is, or if you can think of sources Ive missed (either supporting or competing)
Is it possible that the Alduin we see in Skyrim is not the Nord god but instead an imposter? I was rereading some lore recently when I noticed something in Mysterious Akavir, a reference to the "black dragons" the Tsaesci supposedly tried to enslave (and likely eat if they are vampires) and it made me think about Alduin, a Black Dragon.
Now first it should probably be explained what the mythological Alduin is:
he is the Nordic variant of Akatosh (according to "The Alduin/Akatosh Dichotomy" and "Varieties of Faith" (ESO version was used), its also backed up by the Dragon God section of "The Monomyth")
Is responsible for eating the world (ending the kalpa)
Takes dragon form
the most important part of this is that he is a god, being in control of time (a myth highlighting this is "Old Knocker" from the Songs of Wulfharth, where Alduin is able to de-age the nords to 6 by "eating" their time)
we can also be pretty sure that the Nord gods do exist in some manner as we go to Sovengarde and meet Tsun in person.
Now for the "Alduin" we meet in Skyrim:
He (to my knowledge) never actually claims the title of the world-eater, while he does refer to himself as "Alduin" the closest he gets to claiming any power over time would be "Zu'u unslaad! Zu'u nis oblaan!" (I am eternal! I cannot end!) at the end of the game
He is referred to by himself as "Firstborn of Akatosh" which goes against the more common and likely true belief that Akatosh and Alduin are the same being.
Paarthurnax calls Alduin "The Eldest" and "a brother" now there is actually a slight issue with this, Akatosh is himself a dragon, yet supposedly Alduin was the first dragon, implying either Alduin was made by Akatosh before Akatosh existed, is Akatosh, or this is a simple oversight in the writing department, that or Alduin was instead the first dragon to be made to walk on Mundus (or fly i guess) implying an inherrent inferiority to the god that has previously been established
Now this brings into question: what else could Alduin be? I believe that the Alduin we meet is simply the oldest of the dragons on Mundus, he is not the Nordic god Alduin, instead taking that name and lying to mortals and other Dovah, claiming to be a being of divine nature to control others (also explains why other dragons would choose to follow him despite their dominating nature, perhaps fake Alduin uses his false title to threaten to eat the world if the other Dovah step out of line)
I also believe that Alduin's origins come from Akavir, that he was a Black Dragon that fled north towards Kamal and eventually Atmora instead of into Ka Po'Tun, he then arrived to Atmora where the other dragons may have already been (I don't particularly care about their origins for this theory) and used his age (Im assuming for this all dragons were birthed in the same place before scattering at various points in time, thus would likely all know him to be the eldest dragon) to claim to be their father, the real Alduin.
This is some serious wishful thinking on my part but i hope they bring in one or two of these lost races back in the next game to play as
Can you make a video on the camonna tong specifically?
You should make one over the laws of physics and how they work in Elder Scrolls
I know it'll never happen but I've always wanted the lilmothiit as a playable race
The dark elf on the thumnail 👀
My mind is about to expand in lore and wisdom.
considering every trace of the men of Akavir have been just that, men, I think it would be safe to bet they are just men and maybe the snake part is something of a metaphor. Such as them being "as cunning as a snake". Brown. There are even notable Akavir such as the world boss Sword Master Vhysradue and Proconsul Beloren-Kaie who shows up as a very human ghost.
Dark brown.
And I had no idea there was ever conjecture that the Tsaesci look human. I had always assumed they were purely serpentine.
Heyyy, have you ever considered uploading to Spotify? I’d love to listen to your videos more often and learn more about my favorite game

Is this character's (the shapeshifting woman) name spelled Soling? If so, there *could* be a reference to her in Skyrim!
In Bleak Falls Barrow, as you approach Arvel, he calls out for a few people, one being a 'Soling'. After you enter the room, the wounded giant frostbite spider descends.
Definitely not a lore point, but just a tidbit that connected in my head. :) And also could be wrong!
It would be so nice to see sea elves return to attack sumerset isle along with redguards, and nords as the altmer invade The Empire.
Imga Apemen enjoyers are winning today.
Long black hair almost down to my waist, been growing it out for 5 years now.
Reddish brown, great video
I'm not sure there are any sources beside that one book, but how about video about were-creatures of tamriel? Becoming were-boar in Daggerfall was quite an experience and if I remember correctly, there are supposed to be were-sharks and.. was it were-lions?
"Have you heard of the High Elves?- HERG, GAH, ouhf"
Fire intro
Me who found this as I’m making a elderscroll dnd game and just spent weeks making a ton of races for them
“Ahhh shit here we go again”
Back to the drawing board I got more races to make
Anyone else just hit the thumbs up as soon as this guy's videos start?
Calling me out 😂
naw only retards named kevin do
I wanna see the fox people, the wolf people and the bird people one day soon.
Brown! I wish we could see more of the other continents in the elder scrolls
