New to our 5th wheel and this is very helpful as a first time owner with zero knowledge except for my owners manual.

Thanks for the tips. I believe I've neglected my TV antenna. Heading out to lube it now.

Hey Ray! We have the exact same 5th wheel hitch in our truck. I have never seen anyone else who has that one until now. Old school...

Ya, same age as the truck from 1994. :)

You know, simple maintenance like this twice a year will definitely make your equipment last a lot longer without problems!

You should look into a pullrite hitch. I used to have a reese trailboss and couldnt stand it anymore the bucking and jerking was horrible. Got my pullrite with the wrap around jaws and no more bucking no more banging has a lot head articulation so it wont get in a bind on uneven surfaces

I like the DSP hitch I have, very simple design and works well. I've actually just installed a Lippert Air Ride pin box. It has a built-in air bag and shock absorber. Will have a video out soon demoing it. It really reduces the stress on the hitch and trailers frame.

+Love Your RV its all in personal preference i like the articulating head and wrap around jaw. And im debating on putting a mo ride pin box on mine

So old post I know haha, but question, whats the reasoning of polishing the head of the hitch? Also how do you keep it from getting rusted up or gunked up?

Helps it repel water, protect the powered coat and work smoothly. Lately I've been using two other products that I find work really well - www.loveyourrv.com/update-on-my-fluid-film-boeshield-t-9-reviews/ Cheers, Ray

Hey Ray! One more question - is that a Leland pin box? I have one on my 5th wheel and want to upgrade to a Reese Goose Box. They only make them for Lippert pin boxes though.

@10:30 the cable retaining spring is similar to the one my 2005 Skyline Nomad that went missing. Would you happen to have any information on a source for the item. I have tried a Lippert Flex Guard kit that has become popular, however it does not fit well. I have yet to locate a dealer or RV outlet. The springs in the hardware stores are much too stiff and much shorter.

It is too short and does not extend enough. Thanks

Maybe not use a wire brush because it will scrape paint away and cause rust, try nylon brushes.

Mike found out why our slide isn't working! Ugh!! When will we get to just chill?? We also need to lube everything. Our 5th wheel has been in storage for over a year without maintenance. (We just got it)
