Such an easy design for us to follow. I finally can weld something for myself now that you gave me a great idea. I can use it for kindling too, but I mainly want it for spoon blanks. Cleaver idea bending the steel in your vise jaws!
Great project Sebastian😁👌 I have been thinkong of making something like this for years now, but never get around to it😂 Thanks for showing how simple it is😉
Okay maybe you didn't protect your eyes the whole video but a very ingenious idea especially for those that have no aim with an axe. Probably save a lot of hands. Good job! Looking for more to watch
Is the idea of only tacking on the sharpened piece of blade for easy removal if it needs sharpening? Very simple design that seems to work great! I really liked your bending technique for making the circles. Is that 1/4" thick or 3/16" flat stock? Thanks
Something wrong with that angle grinder mate sounds a bit rough 😉 great project 😁 never thought of bending steel that way I always used 2 bolts tacked to the bench but your way looks much quicker 👍
Thanks! Yup that would be an improvement for sure. We will see how it holds up, although i wouldn’t call it a cutting edge technically because it just forces the wood apart with the. 2mm thick edge.
Nice project, but... what’s up with those tools? Sebastian you think you can get away with regular grinder and welder sounds? You have created a monster when you started your nice bird chirping sounding tools and such lol
Ha! Honestly i think that a huge part of my subscribers stopped watching my videos because they were annoyed by the sounds. Nevertheless i like to change up things but i can assure you that they will be back!
Well... I can only speak for myself when I say that I actually find it enjoyable when you play with the sounds, and I know it takes time to edit those videos and also do the work. And I would watch your videos with or without the funny sounds because i appreciate your attention to details and the great quality of your builds. I hope more people start watching your vids so that way you stay encouraged to keep making them.
@@Ollaris I dunno. Perhaps you should invest in a new mic, or else your tools are starting to get worn out. Maybe a better angle grinder is in order, because that screeching was not normal.
This is a Fake Video! The guy you see is not Sebastian! Proof: the anglegrinder is making the correct sound :D
...
Nice project!
Hahahaha!
I thought exactly the same! :) Such a nice touch I was instantly missing this :)
Finally, a TH-camr who is smart enough to wear a respirator when abrasive cutting, and proper gear when welding. Well done.
As always Sebastian, another great video!!! Hope all is well with you and your family thanks for sharing!
Yes! Thank you very much!
Cool project! My big wow moment, was how well bending the steel into the rings on the vise came out, very cool!
Thanks! They aren’t perfect but good enough to do the job.

Hello there. It's a good idea to do something from scrap materials. created simple kndl splitter. congratulations. I think it was nice.
Thank you very much!
That's a awesome device. Also loved the way you rolled the metal in to a circle with a straight edge tool 👍
Thanks John!
Nice one sebas, super functional!
😊
I wish I had 1/4 of your ability. Very cool.
Nice Job pal!!
Amazing idea, love it. Thank you for sharing your amazing story. God bless you and your family

Nice project! I like it.
Cool, looks like a good project for learning/practicing welding 😎
not all material are scraps but I love it :)
Very cool idea :)

Saucooles Projekt, super gemacht! Ich bin begeistert 😄

Très astucieux bravo salut Jeannot 🛠🙂
Cool project! Nice video too. Thanks for sharing. : )
Thanks!
Buen proyecto compañero. Muy útil. Saludos.
Hey excelente.......saludos desde mexico
if you get tired from chopping blocks you can use it as over the top bottle opener :)
Ha! 😅

Can we get the precise measurements
Dankeschön! Leider geht dieser Stahl nicht zu härten.
Astucieux beau travail .

Yes it is, but it holds up quite well and a bit of dressing it up with a file can be done with it in place. Yes the circle is 3/16 stock
nice one
Nice. A lot safer than using a hatchet.
Thanks! Yes, especially with shaking hands in cold weather!
Nice. I'm thinking you need some art on the walls of your grinding /welding /bomb shelter :)
Thanks for sharing,
Cheers
Thanks! Yeah it looks a bit plain.... but i hope to move out soon. 😉
Todo lo que realizas es excelente...
I think if you put it upside down you can use it without the hammer and its own weight should brake it, or you could spring load it
Interesting idea! I might give it a try!
Nicht schlecht😉👍
Die idee ist wiedermal klasse!!!
Aber was ist mit dem spezialsound?
Danke!
😅😂
Sehr coole Idee :-) LG Heiko
Dankeschön!
You could do some Heat Treatment to the Blade for long lasting performance.
Not really. Mild steel has not enough carbon content to be heat treated.
Thank you so much for protecting us stupid people's eyes.
Köszi a választ!
Hey I love it you are the man Yeaaaaa Boyyyyyyy :)
Hey you are a Beginner Welding you did that like a Professional Bro good job :)
Something wrong with that angle grinder mate sounds a bit rough 😉 great project 😁 never thought of bending steel that way I always used 2 bolts tacked to the bench but your way looks much quicker 👍
Yess it is! It died the next day! 😅
@@Ollaris 😂😂
Just mild steel cutting edge? A piece of tool steel heat treated would be better for this part. Nice idea and design though.👍
Thanks! Yup that would be an improvement for sure. We will see how it holds up, although i wouldn’t call it a cutting edge technically because it just forces the wood apart with the. 2mm thick edge.

NNNNNice!
Looks like you went to a lot of trouble to replace a hatchet.
You really underestimate how much work goes into making a hatchet.
Thanks for the video. You need to service your tools... They dont sound so good ☺
Ha! Yup! 😅😅

Are we just going to pretend that he didn't just use regular tools that make generic tool sounds?
Hahahahhahahhahahaha! Yup. There might be something wrong with your device....😉😅
