In my experience anyone in the grip of an addiction be it drugs, alcohol, gambling, compulsive spending, gluttony etc., is best avoided like the plague. Their "habit" will take primacy over everything else and they will probably try and ease the shame and degradation they feel about their behaviour by getting you to participate in it.

Man, well said… it takes over them so bad, a crackhead can get on a store to steal something, but steal just barely above for their next fix. The urgency for the next fix is so high that they just need to go and buy the next shot as soon as they have enough for it.

I disagree about the no friends red flag. I'm a highly introverted person who only spends a few hours per week socializing at the most - and I have no close friends outside my immediate family. My family isn't obligated to spend time with me, but some of us get along very well and so we spend time together (others not so much!)
In spite of my introverted nature and lack of outside friends, I have been complimented multiple times on my public speaking ability and I have very good relationships with the people I do business with and my employees. I would rate my social skills as above average, but I just enjoy spending most of my free time by myself instead of socializing.

One red flag for me: a guy who has a reputation for being a "nice guy" but nobody really knows him or anything about his background. Some guys are very good at putting on a good show in public but when it comes to being alone with them another side emerges. I'd also have to add, guys will stick up for guys EVERY TIME. The ones you want to ask "how well do you know him" are his female friends, not his male friends. If he doesn't have any female friends, or again, nobody seems to know anything about him (and I'm not talking about someone who's just moved into your community) be very careful, especially if the general consensus is that he's a nice guy. What are they basing this off of if they've only seen him in a public situation like church?
Now, I know your channel is mainly directed towards younger viewers, but as a senior, I have to say there is another red flag, and that is when you combine a significant age gap (he being 10 or more years older than you) with significant health problems. There are guys out there who are looking for "hospice wives". Don't be one of them. These guys are deliberately looking for younger women with assets who will take care of them. Run!

Right so I have mixed feelings about this. Firstly I completely agree, you have to be pretty ruthless with distancing yourself from toxic influences, however I think what makes someone a toxic influence is a bit deeper than if they take hard drugs or if they still have friends from below a certain age. What counts, is things like genuinely wanting to see you succeed, courage, resilience and humility. I know good, authentic, hard working, humble successful people who love snorting cocaine and popping pills every weekend. On the other hand, I also know, pathetic, judgemental, insecure, narcissistic, self righteous, condescending idiots who think the sun shines out their ass who have maintained all their friendships over time have immaculate finances, dont do drugs, and generally waddle around lauding their trivial successes over everything within a 100 mile radius. My point is, while I generally agree with you, I think its important to take this with a pinch of salt and not be super judgemental, because for me, being overly judgemental, is the worst red flag of all.
Forgot to mention, I am a deeply spiritual person, and have noticed God tends to use, outcast's, rejects, losers and weirdos to do great things. Often its the weird guy with no friends and poor finances who is crowned king. I believe greatness often hides in the guise of weakness. And I really don't want to be the fool who underestimated the next Bill Gates or Albert Einstein.

Every person (especially women) should read “Why Does He Do That?” By Lundy Bancroft. It is THE book about domestic abuse. It dispels stereotypes about what people assume domestic abusers are like and anyone who might even know someone who could be in that situation needs to have a grasp on what to do to help. Recognizing early signs can save your life.
I appreciate your blunt but not particularly judgmental perspective on this subject. You don’t make judgments about someone being a worthless person if they have these “red flags” but are realistic about what that could mean for people to get tied up with them.

Second, it is completely ok to live with your parents, over most part of history it was considered normal. And when they get older you can help them out.
Third, I agree that drinking in public can be dangerous but having a friend you regularly drink with is one of the best things in life. I don’t want to live a sober life, if you can’t handle alcohol that is your problem.
And last but not least, I do not give a damn about the financial situation of a man if he is loyal and fun to be around, I’m not a woman.

      1) I said talking about the ex is normal. You heard something else entirely, for some reason.
      2) It's 2024. If you aren't taking care of your parents, don't be 30 years old living at home.
      3) Again, you really didn't listen. I didn't say anything about light drinking. You really didn't listen, despite this long comment.
      4) That's cool if you don't. Just know what it symbolizes.
This comment sounds more like YOU have these traits and got triggered. Because you mistook a least 3 of them.

@ I don’t like people who use the word ,triggerd’. It’s mostly people who insult others and then, when those people react, use that name. It’s like me saying don’t deal with black people (I don’t say that, just to be clear). Does that trigger you? See.
I just don’t like stereotypes. I am 41 and live with my parents. Can you imagine how often I get insulted because of that, as if I do anyone bad. I just like my parents and I am happy to be around my family. I once moved out and hated it, just sitting alone in my apartment. The house we live in is big, no one has a problem with that.
And I like to sit in my basement and drink beer. It just makes me happy. Again, I don’t hurt nobody. I listen to music and talk to friends who moved away. It’s peaceful. A lot of great thinking people did it like that, Churchill, Schopenhauer, Bukowski, just to name a few. And Iike to do it alone, mostly. Because most people are not the kind of human being I want to be around.
And than we come to relationships. Most women I encountered had some sort of mental illness. I don’t date for 9 years now, because of that. When I was in my 20s we had no modern internet, so I didn’t know about things like BPD. Sad story. But if you are a man in 2025 and don’t see that something is very wrong with women in our current culture you must live under a rock. Again, you are shaming men here for women’s issues. Yes I know some women who are nice to be around, but they are A a tiny minority and B they usually also lack awareness of basic knowledge of modern men’s issues.
Wich brings me to the main thing I don’t like about this video.
Male shaming. Misandrist talk is everywhere these days, and I am not even talking about feminism. No it’s the Jordan Petersons, the Andrew Tates, you and basically everybody and his grandma. The only message men ever get is work hard, don’t have fun (video games, drinking, watching tv, etc.) or in other words: be the status object women want. You, your thoughts, your feelings, they don’t matter. It’s always just about gaining status. Think about that. Channels like City Crusher opened my eyes to this, and I can’t close them no more.
Yes I do live with my parents and I drink and I have problems with women (if you don’t have problems with modern female behavior, than there must be a will in you to not see things as they are).
But I also am a very skilled pianist and composer, I produce music in my own studio wich I built in our basement. I make music videos, and I am a natural bodybuilder, go for long hikes and I cook excellent meals. I am also very well read and a sharp thinker. I have an acting degree, I wrote a book, I am interested in religion(s) and I’m very much into literature and philosophy. So I think I’m quite an interesting guy. More interesting than any guy I know to be honest. But according to your video, I’m just a walking red flag.
I am NOT saying this to defend my life here. What do I care what some stranger on the internet thinks about me.
I just want to open men’s eyes when it comes to the status message. We are not work horses, we are people.
Of course you are right with drugs. Dudes who do illegal drugs, are violent, or even criminal should be avoided.
And I don’t want to hate on you here. I get where you’re coming from and that you want to be a good example for people. The world is cruel, a man has to be sharp and strong. I just don’t like stereotypes and the internet discourse is full of them.
So peace and respect to you and your mission, but please consider thinking about my point of view.
      Greetings

I’d argue that marijuana is addictive. I would consider it a red flag if a person smoked every weekend to “blow off steam”, much like people going out for drinks every weekend is a huge red flag in my opinion. It’s been scientifically proven that consumption of alcohol even twice a week wrecks health. Now, on the other hand, OCCASIONAL use of mushrooms can even be beneficial. In my experience, people who don’t want to grow (afraid to take a look on the inside/afraid of their “shadow”) tend to steer clear of them because they don’t like introspection and say they had “a bad trip”.
    Great content by the way!
