But net migration has nearly tripled since BREXIT which was the whole point of leaving. To end free movement. It's gone from 250,000 to 750,000. And illegal migration has nearly tripled as well. From 28,000 to over 70,000. Brexiters can't stop crying about it. 😏

This debate perturbs me a little.
I voted to remain and probably still would, although following the vote I gained significant sympathy for the leave side when, during late 2019, the so-called 'liberal democrats' (among others) attempted to ignore the result of the referendum and remain in the EU (which was neither 'liberal' nor 'democratic').
However, I'd like to think that aside from some lunatics on the fringes of the leave side, there was never any suggestion that we would not have 'relations' with the European Union. They're a handful of miles across the sea, and they're our biggest trading partner.
Wanting to have good relations with the EU but also not wanting to be governed by them are not mutually exclusive concepts. There are hundreds of countries in the world who have good relations with the EU but who aren't part of it. Switzerland has good relations with the EU and it's surrounded on all sides by it.
The implication by the governor was that Brexiteers didn't want to have cordial relations with the EU is an unfair characterisation of the large majority of leave voters. I quite enjoy having coffees and barbecues and a friendly chat with my next door neighbour, but I don't want them to move in with me.

I remember the recent interview with Lord King. The interviewer nodding along to everything he said. A brilliant financial wordsmith. Personally, I disagreed with a third of what he said. There were statements made if I recal, about mortgage and loan responsibilities with relation to the working classes, but little said about the Toxic Debt situation in the US in the early noughties, and the crash of 2008. And the banking and finance industry's responsibilities there-with. Having worked across the glode in the casino business, I have been at the forefront of financial expanse and decline. Baku and Malaysia being a case in point. Financial experts, in my opinion, often wax lyrical on rather limited topics. If it does not come out of Wall Street or The City, it does not get a mention.
However, psychotherapy teaches us that there is no reality, only perception. So I could be wrong. ❤
