Is it possible to install the 10th scale diff from another Traxxas in the mini max? Maybe the front or rear diff from a Rustler 4x4 VXL or the 4x4 vxl Stampede? They both handle 3s with ease
Its only wheeling like that on 2s and 3s because this truck has no center differential. Its a stupid direct drive setup which will kill your diffs and plastic center drive shaft. These trucks can't handle power even though traxxas has said these trucks can handle 3s but obviously they can't. They have weaker planetary style differentials, which aren't as strong as spider gear differentials.Traxxas has said these trucks can handle 3s but obviously they can't without upgrades.
@ exactly! I plan to keep mine as a 2s mini basher. But honestly, if traxxas planned to say it could handle 3s, then build it strong enough to handle it before you start selling it.
But this car was supposed to be designed to handle the upgraded power.. They even advertise the upgrade to the vxl for this truck. If it wasn't a viable option then don't advertise it as such.
I just feel dumb sometimes. I thought when i saw the vxl 3s system offered by Traxxas for this truck that Traxxas designed and built that it would be designed to handle the vxl 3s system. Thank you for telling me what Traxxas really meant by vxl ready 1/10 scale drivetrain. In all seriousness i was wondering how this particular review would turn out. Very lucky you conveniently didn't have the correct parts. Makes perfect sense why you didn't bother. We all know how much you despise trips to the hobby shop. I'm glad it all worked out to plan.
There isn't hardly anything released for this RC yet, it's a brand new chassis along with all new parts and a new sized battery tray being reviewed before the release date. Give it some time.
In Order to use the 3S system you must get the aluminum driveshaft is shorter than the standard driveshaft to accommodate the optional 10758 slipper clutch or 10760 and 10760R center differentials. When using the aluminum driveshaft, you must also use differential pinion gear 10762. You must have the 3S drivetrain to use the 3S system..A TSM is also a give you must get to upgrade to 3S as well
Dang man, you didn't even try 3s Can't lie, kinda disappointed. From what I saw, on the other peoples videos of the 3s conversion... where people landing really hard while "on power". Of course it's gonna smoke the diff when that happens. Thought you might would have done something different.
Mark, just wanna let you know that Jon, Marshall and Mike took it to the La Habra skate park. I asked them to send it so I can see what's weak. After 3 battery pack, nothing came back broken. I rarely say this, but I think Mini Maxx is the best RTR from Traxxas up to date. We used stock motor/esc and swapped the tires with Traxxas Anacondas.
Mark, honestly, as much as this “Mini Maxx” being a complete FAIL in comparison to all the other RCs in this “Mini” category and as much as I’ve been hating on Traxxas vehicles although I do still love my TMaxx(nitro converted to 4s electric), my nitro Rustler (converted to 3s electric), my 1/10th Summit (which is really 1/8th scale), my UDR (which is all metal. I absolutely love Trophy Trucks) but I’ve stopped buying from Traxxas for several reasons which out of respect to all my fellow RC’ers who love Traxxas I will keep my reasons to myself BUT I will get the Mini Maxx because I’m pretty sure that what I have planned will work. That’s all I’ll say about it because this truck needs to be on 3s and not this 2s nonsense while every other mini RC is clocking 45-55mph on 3s and loving it. Once I get it I’ll let you know when I get it and when I’ll start its transformation. Great video brother.🙂👍💯

For me personally, 30+ mph is plenty fast enough. No 3s needed for me. If I wanna drive 3s I’ll bust out my stampede VXL or 3s Arrma granite. 😌 Nice vid, mark.
Bottom line... some cars aren't designed to be over powered. This is one of them. Nothing wrong with that.
But this car was supposed to be designed to handle the upgraded power.. They even advertise the upgrade to the vxl for this truck. If it wasn't a viable option then don't advertise it as such.
They are trash
You should feel dumb all the time!
Mark didn’t do his intro?!?!
Looks like the slash and rustler diffs fit the mini Max. Pretty sad it can't take 3s that Traxxas claims.
Arrma is destroying traxxas these days and I’m here for it 🎉
V x l three speed control should only be used with center Deaf
They write vlx on the box though... Typical expensive traxxas toy.
In Order to use the 3S system you must get the aluminum driveshaft is shorter than the standard driveshaft to accommodate the optional 10758 slipper clutch or 10760 and 10760R center differentials. When using the aluminum driveshaft, you must also use differential pinion gear 10762.
You must have the 3S drivetrain to use the 3S system..A TSM is also a give you must get to upgrade to 3S as well
So like 600$ later it might handle 3s. No thanks. Lol.
Did you post to the wrong channel?!
Dang man, you didn't even try 3s Can't lie, kinda disappointed. From what I saw, on the other peoples videos of the 3s conversion... where people landing really hard while "on power". Of course it's gonna smoke the diff when that happens. Thought you might would have done something different.
Tomley never landed it on power and had 3 rear diffs $hit the bed in a pack and half=trash
Complaining you get too many free rc cars? Lol dude it take 10 min to destroy one, you dont have ten minutes a day?
Hard Flex lol 0:01!
Why do you always say" I'm not gonna lie? Does that mean you normally lie? 😁
Gahlee!
Yeah people are complaining it killed diffs on 3S, like you said it was not intended for 3S out of the box , there is center diff and other hop ups to make it handle 3S...but people think it should handle it out of the box....I think out of the box it's fine the way it is..More power means more money with any R/C I don't care what it is...
Traxxas says it's vxl 3s ready out of the box
@@mavsgarage5245Nowhere does it say it's 3S ready out of the box, they do talk it up, but doesn't say 3S ready out of the box, unless I missed that...
@@andyb9994I never said it was 3s ready, I said it was vxl 3s ready. It says it's ready for the vxl 3s system to be dropped in out of the box and that the system is no problem for it, look on the website
@@andyb9994even if it dosent say it 9n the box its a giant turd in the eyes of every person who has been disappointed with Traxxas and their lies, the (70+mph) garbage then you get it home and in tiny print (with optional speed gear and battery) traxxas is digging its own grave slowly. The fan boys are dropping off just as fast as they dig that hole.
@@JordanColeman-r8wOnly reason Traxxas is digging a hole in to put money in, bro they sell more models than anyone!! Period
rear diff junk
If the TRX10760R diff hasn't been fitted.. you didn't RTFM... you needlessly broke the truck. But I guess it creates short term content. Very noob you know
Another money pit lol
More junk from traxxas
can you buy me a mini max
This was a very poor model design and way too much hype surrounding its release.
Now we know that it will require extensive upgrades to do 3s 😡
So, why not just buy the Maxx v2 in sale and have 4s and heavy duty parts with no upgi🤔🤨
Thing haul ass
I would say he is somewhat Traxxas under payroll and FB. He is not being real and can't say the true bad things about it, specially the overpriced disappointing Slash buggy and Mini xmaxx.
