There's an easy way to rank Lovebites songs. Your favourite is whichever track you happen to be listening to at the time and every other track is a very close second.
Love Bites has about 60 original songs, but actually there are extremely few songs with solo parts for bass or drums, and one of those few songs is "Hammer of Anger. It was chosen as the opening song for this revival concert, partly because it was the first time a new member, FAMI (bass), performed, and partly because a fan suggested it.
There are several songs that I would use to introduce someone to Lovebites, and this is one of them....just love their 'thrashier' side! This is actually an older song of theirs and my understanding is that in the earlier days Midori was a faster, clean-picking shredder (hence the 'crazy shredder' nickname), however Miyako's fast piano fingers 'tap' really well and that's how they sounded pretty evenly matched in speed from the beginning! These days they are both really adept in all the styles....both amazing!! Love this band!!🤘
Miho referred to the "Hammer Of Wrath" as a thrash metal song with some Arabic elements. It is often their opening track of their live set lists, as it helps them to focus their sences. From the album Awakening from Abyss Lyrics: Miho Music Miho and Mao
LOVEBITES - The Hammer Of Wrath lyrics: What's the worst way to die? Burning to death, or drowning? Everyone laughs in derision There's no hope at all Why is the world rotting away Howling in pain, they slowly die All of the sorrow is murderous The insanity (Burn up) They're calling me (Burn up) It's do or die (Burn up) Get ready for hell (Bring down justice to the wicked) Don't look away from the mistakes Open your eyes, and see the truth When lightning cracks the blackened sky Listen to the screams of distress It's like a bad dream but it's not No way to get out, a living nightmare Bring down the Hammer of Wrath Who will be the next to burn? God only knows the victim Everyone knows they are innocent All the hope is gone In despair they pass away There was no hope to begin with Even the angels are giving up Looking down on us Will this night ever break dawn (Bring down justice to the wicked) SOLO: midori / mi-ya [miyako] What's the worst way to die? It is hard too not just dive into this band completely. As you can tell by the small sample size you have viewed so far is that this band isnt capable of producing a dud. Some songs lean Power, Some lean Thrash,Some lean 80's Ballad Metal,etc.... they not only have a pulse on what is and what isnt Great Music of past days but they are spinning the whole gambit into their own New and Fresh Style. The band is Tastefull,Classy and will tear the stage up with technicality,Speed and Performance not seen quite as much in the West. They are Ultra High energy.
Imagine coming back from a two+ year hiatus without any live gigs, with a new bandmember, and opening your first show with THIS...???!!! They say they get nervous before shows, but if so, they aren't holding back at all.
This song is simply a killer track. Thrash with a twist, modernized as you stated in the beginning. To my ears, they have never done any wrong, and I can't say that about past favorite bands of mine, Led Zeppelin and Opeth, both of which have songs I simply do not like at all.
General suggestions for LOVEBITES... * Holy War - Edge Of The World - A Frozen Serenade - Swan Song (with Chopin intro) - When Destinies Align * Set The World On Fire - Break The Wall * Shadowmaker - Raise Some Hell - Epilogue (another "E" song, next to "Edge Of The World" and "Empty Daydream") - Glory To The World - Rising - Winds Of Transylvania (VLADLOVE version) * Thunder Vengeance - Don't Bite The Dust - Dancing With The Devil - The Awakening / The Hammer Of Wrath - Nameless Warrior [OMV] - Liar - We The United Live album 2CD/DVD/Blu-ray from August 23rd, 2023, of March 11th live concert [Trailer] Knockin' At Heaven's Gate * The Hammer Of Wrath (live 2023) (first promotional video) * Nameless Warrior (live 2023) (second snippet) * Judgement Day (live 2023) (third snippet) * Liar (live 2023) (forth snippet) Live album 2CD/DVD/Blu-ray from December 20th, 2023, of March 12th live concert [Trailer] Knockin' At Heaven's Gate - Part II - Stand And Deliver (Shoot 'Em Down) (live 2023) (first promotional video) - Swan Song (live 2023) (second snippet) New stuff (LOVEBITES 2.0, with new bassist Fami) - Judgement Day [OMV] - Stand And Deliver (Shoot 'Em Down) [OMV] Other new stuff from new album (audio and release party only) - Soldier Stands Solitarily - We Are The Resurrection - Lost In The Garden - Dissonance - My Orion - The Spirit Goes On - Wicked Witch - Victim Of Time

Congratulations to all your excellent reactions to the best band in metal history. If I may allow myself a suggestion, you should react to another Japanese female group, Némophila, which I consider, and this is only my opinion, as the only group which, currently, bears comparison, instrument by instrument, with Lovebites. Some of the best titles: Zen (!!!!), Change the world, Dissension, Raitei, Aces high (IM cover), Walk (Pantera cover), Adabana (!!!!), Whole lotta love Rosie (AC/DC cover), Shimi (!!!), Zersubo Billy (!!!!) and so many others.

Yep - they are indeed amazing.
One of my very favorites from them, I enjoy it as much as the first time no matter how many times I watch this performance.
My favorite Lovebites song is usually whatever one is playing. It's sort of crazy.
Thank you for the reaction! More Lovebites on the channel :)

Another grand reaction. Cheers.
That drum pattern Haruna lays down along with Miyako's rhythm when they go into half time is soooo tasty!
