Don't ever feel like you need to apologize for ! Whether it's a contrary cat wanting to get into an off-limits closet or a big, dramatic dog sigh, they are never an unwanted interruption. It makes your videos a bit more homey with the animals. 😁

Yes!! My favorite part of videos is when I unexpectedly see their adorable pet pop up!! It's such a pleasant surprise, I didn't go into the video knowing I'd see cute animals, and came out excited that I did!
I really apreciate that you didn't include your palette and Heather's in this ranking.. They are absolutely gorgeous and deserve the top spot but acknwoledging your bias towards them says a lot about your honesty and I really like that

I am still dying that people were coming for you over Essence, lol. It’s such a meh brand and you are 100% correct in saying that cheap makeup can still be not worth the price! When BeautyBay goes on sale they’re practically paying you to take it, and those shadow qualities are insanely good!

Haha, yes, I agree about Essence! I wouldn’t say the brand is completely bad, but eyeshadows are not really it. Not all of them, but I wasn’t surprised, when Angeschka dissed the given palette. Hopefully, they someday will get better.
TRULY like the only essence thing that i routinely buy is their mascara because i will be DAMNED if i spend over a tenner on a product you replace every six months

Ever since you said "People who think Pat McGrath shadows are the best don't shop indie brands", I've really had to step back and think about it. I love the sparkly goodness and the great mattes I have from indies so I'm inspired to shop PM and ND. My wallet thanks you. 😂💜
Unfortunately a lot of indie brands are hard to come by in Europe, but Oden's eye is high on my list to try. That's one that won't cost me half the cost of my products on top of the actual price in customs.

I love the Colourpop Mandalorian palette! It's my go-to when I need a neutral palette that pairs well with my cool skintone. Totally understand why it didn't work for you, though, and I hate that it had hard-pressed shadows. Mine doesn't, but that goes back to maybe having consistency and quality issues. My amethyst palette is perfection, too.
I love this palette too! It is a perfect murky color story that makes my hazel eyes pop!
Just started your ranking after finishing Heather's ( I started hers before work and watched in 3 parts). It's so interesting to see how you ranked the same palette so different and your reasoning. It's clear how much you love mattes and how Heather could take full baths in shimmer and sparkles😂✨

I CALLED SERENITY BEING #1. It's my favorite palette of the year too. I suspected it would be good but I didn't think I'd be blown away by the matte formula like I am. If they can keep it up, it might be my favorite matte formula.
Hela is my fave, but I only tried 2 this year, lol (nearly no-buy year!) Love the quality and your color story on that one! 😍 I hope Odens Eye rereleases those x-mas palettes next year!
The Sydney Grace in memory of Mel Thompson bundle was amazing, I thought it was better than what ND produced! I enjoyed the ND Retro Glam too, but the SG/MT was better and I definitely really enjoyed the bundle. Chefs kiss for quality and the diversity of her shade selection!
I didn’t purchase the retro glam, but I did pick up Mel’s bundle from SG and I LOVE IT! So nice to see so many people loving Mel’s bundle more! ❤
Holy heck, you tried like 2 palettes a week?! That’s impressive and alarming. I thought that releases slowed down this year but I’m guessing a lot of indie brands launched more.
yeah it's been intense haha. the up-side of having it as a job is that I can really plan out how to try things and sometimes wear more than 1 look a day :P
I think the fact that she gets PR from colourpop is a part of that too haha at least one release per week from them

Colourpop was a big let down this year. They definitely changed up their pressing or formulation and it made me hate their recent palettes. Got rid of All Amethyst, Troublemaker, and the Avatar palette because their shadow quality was not great. I loved the Limoncello or Plush Like Me quality so I know they can do great
What? Avatar is great quality! But I agree that 2021 releases had better ideas. Limoncello and Lush Life are still what I think are their best releases and quality. I didn’t buy too much from them this year bc I’m on a low buy, but the HP 2 release was also amazing quality! And I had to get the new Aurora Struck- that’s basically my dream color story.

We are so opposite with the matte/shimmer thing. I prefer shimmers. I am absolutely in love with a full glitter sparkle face, i love fallout glitter eveywhere, lol! Mattes make a good backdrop for the sparkle! 😁❤️🎨
Finally! Been excited for this video all year round! I had a feeling Cosmic Brushes Serenity Palette would be your #1! I definitely enjoyed it as well! As a Natasha Denona collector myself, My Dream Palette is actually my favorite one of all she has ever released. I personally would have ranked it higher than #16. I regretted not buying the holiday palettes from Oden’s Eye when I had the chance! So beautiful! Can’t wait for another year of watching you try on new eyeshadow palettes! ✨💕

I think Oden's Eye REALLY underestimated the appeal their Christmas palettes would have. I know retailers don't want to be "stuck" with a Christmas palette after the holiday glow has faded, but a high-quality well-curated palette with a flexible color story will be a perennial favorite regardless of seasonal appeal. I hope that at the very least, they'll bring them back next year. I know I'll be using mine year-round, and I'd love to grab one for my daughter, too, who would also use it year-round. The Christmas Day palette is a beautiful fall/winter color story, and the Christmas Eve palette is something I'd even wear in the summer.
I agree, well at least with the part of it where Oden's Eye releases the palettes again! I didn't have the money to purchase them when they came out but I would love to get the Christmas Eve one and I don't care what time of year it is. Maybe they could do something like crowdfunding where they have people put in their payment info but it only charges if there's enough people interested that they can make the palettes. That way they're not out a bunch of money for palettes that aren't selling and the consumers that wanted one but were unable to purchase one at the time could hopefully get one this time. It should work for them so they don't make them unless there's enough people committed to purchasing. It seems like a win/win to me. What do you think?
I have been begging them to bring those palettes back on every single one of their IG posts. I seriously regret not buying them. The color stories are phenomenal, and I don’t care if they are Christmas or not, I want them and I would use them year round. Hopefully we can convince them to bring them back ❤

It would be a lot of work, but a collab with 2 or 3 creators or a subscriber poll using the bracket/playoff system would be great! They could do big brands vs indy brands & the brackets could be neutral, rainbow, most unusual/innovative color story, collabs, etc.

This was so satisfying to watch! I'm not ashamed to say that I have 90% of the palettes you mentioned, LOL!! It was such a great year for palettes. I've never purchased so many, haha!! Luckily, the ones I don't have were in your bottom 20 anyways, LOL! I think if I were to rank all my palettes, we would have similar rankings. But it would be so hard. For me, it was the best year of releases I've ever seen. Again, I loved watching this. Thank you! I know you spend a lot of your time for us, and I appreciate it.

I love Sugar Drizzle’s MILF (Man I love Frogs) along with Trick Roar Treat. Everything Oden’s Eye is amazing! Got your palette, the Solmane, and the Holiday palettes. Will need to go on a low buy for at least 6 months to make up for the late year purchases 😅

I found you this year and have enjoyed your videos. Started rebuilding my makeup collection this year from where it was annihilated from lack of use for the 2 previous years. Once my Black Friday Oden’s Eye palettes get here, I will have 9 palettes (2 quads) - 4 of which I purchased based on your recommendation. The 2 I do have from your recommendation are really nice and I appreciate the input. I’m now on a no buy bc I’m at a good place, but I am still interested in your reviews next year. Let’s see what gets put on the market 😊

Edit: The Colourpop Shell Shock palette is supposed to look like a seashell. The browns are the outside of the shell and the sheer iridescent colors are like the shimmer abalone colors on the inside.
I bought the Serenity palette before seeing your number 1! It's just gorgeous! I also bought the Hela palette when they started Black Friday lol, I was not missing out on your palette!!
I'm so glad I was able to get my hands on the Serenity in the fourth restock. I was side-eyeing it for a long time but kept forgetting to jump on the site before it sold out and then finally I decided I wasn't gonna miss it, set an alarm and was able to get one for myself. It's suuuuuch a good palette, so good that when I showed my friend who isn't into makeup, she audibly gasped when I showed it to her. I love it so much, well deserved top spot.

When pallets are shiny, i cover them with washi tape. I can see the colors better! I did it bevause i like to play with makeup when i have a migraine. shiny backgrounds makes it totally impossible to work with it. I washi tape as i need to. It may not be feaseable if you have a large collection
It is absolutely adorable when Angie opens a palette that she truly loves and all you hear is, "Uhhhhh!" That noise is like mine when I am overwhelmed with yummyness in a palette and/or eyeshadow color! Angie is the BEST!!!!!

The Glamlite Hershey’s collab upsets me because Hershey’s did this exact collection with Etude House, a Japanese Beauty Brand. The palettes are exactly the same, down to the shades in the palettes and the palette component design.

Your rankings make me consider the Ace Beaute palettes. I have the Oceanic palette and I wonder how it is now that it’s been reformulated. The Palettopoly looks good.
I have both the reformulated and original Oceanic palettes. The mattes and shimmers are definitely improved. Mattes are more pigmented, softer, blend more easily, and are less prone to patchiness. Shimmers are more metallic and sparkly, but not a huge difference over the original.
Their new formula is definitely better than their original formula, but I wouldn't recognize getting the new oceanic palette if you have the old one

I just ordered from unearthly cosmetics the other day, and after check out, it prompted me to answer a question about the bigger pans. Like a poll but it didn’t show the current results of the poll but I voted in it. The question was like, “If we changed to smaller pans, would that be something you’d like?” The options were: I would like smaller pans, No don’t change the pan size, or It doesn’t matter to me either way. So maybe we’ll get smaller pans from unearthly soon! It didn’t show anything about it on the website until after I had checked out and made a purchase.
I just received Heather’s palette and it is Gorgeous!!! I missed ur Oden’s eye palette, but I did buy ur Kaleidos palette. I will try not to miss ur next collab 💕💕
Im trying to figure out how eill be my life when Christmas arrive and you stop to upload everyday 😅. Im enjoying so much the daily and long content! Love your collection and your honest thoughts. I want that Serenity palette so bad but they dont ship to my country 😢, I know without try it it’s the most interesting launch of the year, well deserved 1st place.
For me, the ISAMAYA Industrial is the number 1. I’ve done over 20 unique looks with it, and loved EVERY single one, and they are sooo easy to work with, so dimensional, layer perfectly… it’s just amazing.

I agree with you about the Gloss Gods palettes. The mattes are very dry and patchy, but the shimmers are gorgeous. I wouldn't be so annoyed about that if they didn't cost so much to ship here.
It ordered my palette on Black Friday I'm so excited I got it before it was no longer wish I could have gotten the pallet you created before that too but it's okay I will definitely book collecting your future endeavors I'm so excited

I also have the Hela palette and the Adept palette is on the way.
Angie I know you dont love geay shadow but its been a favourite of mine lately! I've got a cool undertone though so they blend pretty naturally into my skin tone and I find they go well with most of the colours I wear

Something was definitely up with the CP Amethyst and Tidal palettes. Both of mine were ridiculously soft and the Amethyst had several pans that just crumbled into almost wet lumps.
I keep going back and forth on my favourite palettes. Personally, it's a tie between Clionadh Dragonfruit and Sydney Grace's TropiColor, though I use that boring UD Foxy mini the most. 🤷🏻♀️ Professionally, All Done Up by BB has had the heaviest use. Between All Done Up and Dollhouse I don't really need anything else for bridal.

I like that my taste in eyeshadow is the polar opposite than yours and yet, here I am haha. I have cool toned skin and really dont mind shimmer everrywherreee on my eyes. 🤷♀️ Rarely go for any super bright colors but for 2023 I’m looking for a purple/lilac/pink palette. I have my eyes on Kaleidos Flowing Haze, Milani Gilded Twilight or GlossGods Vintage Glam. Trying to keep it budget friendly 😔

LOVE the fur babies! I think it's odd when youtubers that have pets who just walk in, or want to see them, ignore their pets! I couldn't ever do that. I have a Jack Russell pupper myself and WISH I could take her to work! Though I am blessed enough to work literally 3 minutes from my house and can come home most days for about 30 minutes for her. 🐕🥰. You work hard to do what you do, and be able to work from your HOME. I appreciate what you do for us and I'm sure your babies appreciate having you at home too. Also, God bless you for being someone who can and is willing to take care of animals. They do so much for us as humans. I have to say 99.9% of the time, I like them more than humans anyway...🤣
I'd love to see from cosmic brushes a smaller palette with that same quality, in different colors schemes with THE BIG FOUR: light and dark mattes, and light and dark (or bright) shimmers

I have implemented some of them. I probably need help on brush sizes. Thanks for turning me on to Glamlite and Unearthly Cosmetics this year...absolutely love these new brands that I have added to my collection! I am 54 now and still LOVE eye shadow palettes and color. I want to try some of your color combos, I am still monochromatic girl (80's kid all they way) when it comes to the eyes, but 2023 i am going to start experimenting!! Monteverde it's in Spanish so the consonants are a little bit different, but with the Swedish pronunciation you get all the vowels right so that's a much better pronunciation.

My favorites this year (off the top of my head as I haven’t spent a long time compiling a list) are the oden’s Eye Christmas palettes and the Witchcraft palette… by an indie band whose name is escaping me right now, but is available on Etsy. Probably too shimmer-heavy for your taste, Angie, but that’s where it’s at for me 😊 Very special shimmers and extremely affordable too! But I do loooove my Oden’s Eye! Yeah I am one of those people who didn't get to grab the Oden's Eye release and I was disappointed but they will have other amazing releases this year. I truly enjoyed the video and the honesty you gave about each pallette! 😘💜
