Thing that some fans gloss over or sometimes forget (like I almost did) is that Brandon Rouths Kingdom Come Superman......is basically the original Christopher Reeve version of the character from the Richard Donner films. The musical cues were there, the easter eggs (This is the second time i fought a doppelganger of myself" line was a reference to Superman III the junkyard battle scene). I really like the ending with shots of Reeve and Routh kinda looking at eachother with acknowledgement. Very well done!

When I rank the different takes on Superman, I don't ever consider Reeves cause his was a portrayal of the Silver Age Superman with one off powers. Love his Superman but his was a version before the classic superman. Tom Welling is my favorite classic superman. Henry Cavill is one of my favorites for his darker, more down to earth take of the character. The rest can't really compare to these versions(I consider Routh with Reeves, but I love that he plays the Kingdom Come version)

This is really emotional. And in my opinion this is why Brandon Routh will forever be the true Superman. No other individual managed to play the role of Superman as well as he did, for me anyways. Some people may disagree and say Christopher Reeves is the one true Superman, and back in the 20th century that may be the case. But for the 21st century so far I personally believe that Brandon Routh is the best Superman. He just seems to fit into the role so well. Don't get me wrong, Henry Cavill and Tom Welling both played the role well, but Tom Welling was more of a Clark Kent than a Superman. And Henry Cavill is more the Man of Steel, a champion and a superhero. Brandon Routh comes closest to fitting the actual role of Superman, the ideal of the character that made Superman who he truly is.
Great tribute really honours Reeve & Routh who I personally love as Superman. I think it’s the Reeve’s about him but he just oozes the character to me. That moment in Part 2 of Crisis when he suits up for the first time & the classic John Williams score played was so so good. I cheered. Got to say not liking the hate I’m seeing in the comments for Tyler Hoechlin though. He might not have the physical stature of Routh or Welling but he is a great Superman in his own right & I can’t wait to see him in his own show (which he deserves) the way he has handled everything that comes with never knowing when they will be able to have you or not. He also has great chemistry with Bitsie Tulloch. Don’t understand why it needs to be a competition. Why can’t people just appreciate what positives each actor brings to the part!

There should have been a enemy other than Luthor or Zod that Superman should square off against. Bryan Singer should have used Darkseid or Brainiac.

Every time I tune into this channel, there’s something to choke me up. Every time. I grew up on Christopher Reeve’s Superman so videos like this go straight to my heart. Outstanding.
This version of Superman really helped me, especially when he said, " even in darkest times hope cuts through, hope is the light that lifts us out of darkness" that quote helped me so much, because I have bad days and that quote helps me realize that there is always hope, especially when the world doesn't have hope. We need to have Hope, because Hope is Stronger than fear.

Jeez Brandon is a tank in Crisis. I would personally love to see him get a Kingdom Come show or even a movie. They have allowed an extraordinary Movie like Joker to be made which kind of exist's on its own outside of the Shared DC Universe, so why not another Superman Movie away from whoever they cast as the new Superman? Not gonna be Cavill because he's that much older than Yawn...Robert Pattinson but whomever that may be. Amazing video, very well done. I always wished Brandon Routh would get a second chance to be Superman and he proved what I've known since 2006 that he was a great superman in a not so great superman movie. Regardless of what heppens next, he got his much needed redemption.
Superman Returns was not only the first superhero movie that introduced me in my childhood but the first superhero movie I watched before MCU and the Avengers. Seeing Earth-96 Superman was a canon from Richard Donner's Superman movies(except 3 & 4 but with a few references such as the Junkyard Fight Scene) that starred the late Christopher Reeve made me smile. He endured the painful loss of Lois Lane and other people he close because of a tragedy was a parallel from the Injustice universe where that Superman turns to the darker path, killed the Joker(who also destroyed Metropolis) and became a regime tyrant while Earth-96 version did not and endured the pain & loss. It's too bad that the idiotic writers ruined him and replaced by Lex Luthor(Earth-38).
I don't care what people say. Brandon Routh will always be my Superman. I grew up watching Christopher Reeves' version of Superman, but I never enjoyed the effects nor how the Suit looked. But with Superman Returns, even though the story is argueably the most Deus Ex Machina crap you'll ever live through, it was the first "REAL" Superman experience for me. Brandon looked amazing as Superman, and imo, even better than Reeves as Clark. It was a sight to behold. Now with Kingdom Come Brandon Routh Superman, I just miss him as superman. Henry Cavil argueably has the more buff and "True-To-The-Comics" body etc. But Routh makes me see the man other then the super alien that has the potential to blow up the entire galaxy....

Brandon Routh's matured experiance as an actor, and his continued passion for playing Superman shined bright during his Crises scenes. Easily the best parts of the latest crossover in my opinion. Cavill has been solid in the role.. but Damn watching Routh again truly had me wanting to see him in one more film with his interpretation of the character.

This was the best way to bring back Routh's Superman. Companies just want to make money instead of actually going deep into the character. I personally liked Superman Returns, it was a good way to see what happened after Reeves's Superman, but it wasn't a good movie because there wasn't much to do with that character. Routh really wanted to play Superman, the Superman from Returns and the CW gave it to him. Of course, they can't say that this is that Superman, but it's nice to see the subtle hints put in. It's sad that Crisis on Infinite Earths isn't movie quality, but that's what you get with the budget.
The Kingdom Come costume is way better than what James Gunn has just served up for his new Superman movie in 2025. You should have gone with this one, James!

Great tribute really honours Reeve & Routh who I personally love as Superman. I think it’s the Reeve’s about him but he just oozes the character to me. That moment in Part 2 of Crisis when he suits up for the first time & the classic John Williams score played was so so good. I cheered. Got to say not liking the hate I’m seeing in the comments for Tyler Hoechlin though. He might not have the physical stature of Routh or Welling but he is a great Superman in his own right & I can’t wait to see him in his own show (which he deserves) the way he has handled everything that comes with never knowing when they will be able to have you or not. He also has great chemistry with Bitsie Tulloch. Don’t understand why it needs to be a competition. Why can’t people just appreciate what positives each actor brings to the part!

Also said the Superman Returns storyline serves as both a remake and a sequel that would honor the characters history and the popular films by Richard Donner. So it's not a direct sequel.
@@guyhaskins3829 Singer's first mistake was he put it in 21st century timeline and not the 1980's where it should have been, so the environment around him should be about 1985-1986. Singer's second mistake was having Lex Luthor in the film even though Kevin Spacey did an incredible job as Luthor, it's been played into the ground. Thirdly, there was hardly any action. There should have been a enemy other than Luthor or Zod that Superman should square off against. Bryan Singer should have used Darkseid or Brainiac.

This version of Superman really helped me, especially when he said, " even in darkest times hope cuts through, hope is the light that lifts us out of darkness" that quote helped me so much, because I have bad days and that quote helps me realize that there is always hope, especially when the world doesn't have hope. We need to have Hope, because Hope is Stronger than fear.

Jeez Brandon is a tank in Crisis. I would personally love to see him get a Kingdom Come show or even a movie. They have allowed an extraordinary Movie like Joker to be made which kind of exist's on its own outside of the Shared DC Universe, so why not another Superman Movie away from whoever they cast as the new Superman? Not gonna be Cavill because he's that much older than Yawn...Robert Pattinson but whomever that may be. Older Supes with the weight of the world and his past on his shoulders reforming the Justice League is much more interesting to me. More Routh please WB and CW.

Amazing video, very well done. I always wished Brandon Routh would get a second chance to be Superman and he proved what I've known since 2006 that he was a great superman in a not so great superman movie. Regardless of what heppens next, he got his much needed redemption.

Superman Returns was not only the first superhero movie that introduced me in my childhood but the first superhero movie I watched before MCU and the Avengers.
Seeing Earth-96 Superman was a canon from Richard Donner's Superman movies(except 3 & 4 but with a few references such as the Junkyard Fight Scene) that starred the late Christopher Reeve made me smile. He endured the painful loss of Lois Lane and other people he close because of a tragedy was a parallel from the Injustice universe where that Superman turns to the darker path, killed the Joker(who also destroyed Metropolis) and became a regime tyrant while Earth-96 version did not and endured the pain & loss.
It's too bad that the idiotic writers ruined him and replaced by Lex Luthor(Earth-38).

I grew up watching Christopher Reeves' version of Superman, but I never enjoyed the effects nor how the Suit looked.
But with Superman Returns, even though the story is argueably the most Deus Ex Machina crap you'll ever live through, it was the first "REAL" Superman experience for me.
Brandon looked amazing as Superman, and imo, even better than Reeves as Clark.
It was a sight to behold.
Now with Kingdom Come Brandon Routh Superman, I just miss him as superman.
Henry Cavil argueably has the more buff and "True-To-The-Comics" body etc. But Routh makes me see the man other then the super alien that has the potential to blow up the entire galaxy....

Brandon Routh's matured experiance as an actor, and his continued passion for playing Superman shined bright during his Crises scenes. Easily the best parts of the latest crossover in my opinion. Cavill has been solid in the role.. but Damn watching Routh again truly had me wanting to see him in one more film with his interpretation of the character.

This was the best way to bring back Routh's Superman. Companies just want to make money instead of actually going deep into the character. I personally liked Superman Returns, it was a good way to see what happened after Reeves's Superman, but it wasn't a good movie because there wasn't much to do with that character. Routh really wanted to play Superman, the Superman from Returns and the CW gave it to him. Of course, they can't say that this is that Superman, but it's nice to see the subtle hints put in. It's sad that Crisis on Infinite Earths isn't movie quality, but that's what you get with the budget.
