Jaquie, so happy that the medical marijuana is giving you noticeable symptom relief for your gastroparesis. Thank you for sharing your update with us and hope that all goes well at your 7 month follow up appointment! 🙏🏻🤗❤️
That sweater! I love it! EDIT: OMG IT'S ON YOUR STORE YAY EDIT 2: I'm really glad you're finding GI relief. I felt so strongly for you in your vlogs when you would be up all night vomiting and dry heaving. Also being solely dependent on your tube feeds is no good so yay benefits there! Thank you for the update. :) EDIT 3: I don't have anything else to say, I just like editing hehe
Jaqiue, I have been following your journey for a year now and I would like to say how much healthier you look in your videos since you have been able to eat! Congratulations on your continued progress!! ♥️
I am so happy that you are being helped with your GI issues! It must be pretty amazing for you to be able to enjoy food again! I’m truly happy for you! I pray that you find pain relief soon! ❤️
I’m so proud of you. I knew you could do it. Isn’t it amazing to have an appetite and also be able to digest it! I know it’s not perfect, nothing is, but when you’ve spent so many years battling staying nourished, and then you can, it’s life changing. I haven’t had much pain relief either, but it’s easier to manage because I’m in a better head space. I was a lot more miserable when I hurt and was hungry but not hungry. Now I feel happier. You seem happier too, with the exception of that darned hospital stay. 😘👍🏻💚
I've experienced the same thing, awesome results when it comes to GI issues and almost no pain relief. I'm still VERY grateful for it. Thank you so much for sharing your experience and helping to end the stigma.
I am glad you are doing OK, can you help me with the recommendation of oils to use for my health issues cancer and liver, alzhiemer, please help me guide me to a company I can trust , and let me know the name of your oils, the milg.and where can I trust to buy , please help me my name is amalia benitez, live in illinois
As with all things, what works well with one body, won't work the same with another. You may never see pain relief benefits from mmj, but the other benefits you're experiencing are still worth the journey💜.
Jennifer Mac Entee A consultant can apply for a special licence but it's hard to get. It's hard to get even if you have one of the 3 listed conditions like that girl Ava in Cork has. But it's still possible to apply for this special exception licence. I'm considering asking for it as I've a lot of pain and I've tried everything for my stomach issues and they don't want to put my body through J or GJ placement but we're out of options and the HSE won't grant licences unless someone has tried every other med. May I ask what condition(s) you have?
Yea. It’s awful here. I’ve got EDS, POTS, fibromyalgia, costochondritis and probably many more things that I’m not even aware of because the system is so bloody shite here and at least in the states and the uk and I’m sure other parts of the world, ye have a team of docs who work together. I’m in chronic pain every day. I do take cbd but it doesn’t kick it. I ended up in a and e yesterday again. Pneumonia and pleurisy in top of everything 🙄 it should be legalized here. Big bloody pharma 😡
In Illinois you don't need to have a specialist to get Medical Marijuana. You do need your primary care physician to send a form to the state saying that you have one of the diagnosis that allows use of the products. The person pays $250 for 3 year application fee. They are sent a "License" type card to get into the dispensaries to obtain their supplies. Those supplies can be switched as needed to determine the best product for their symptoms. It has been a big help for my husband with his pain. He uses an ointment for his knees and can be pain free for a day. He also has pain in his hands. If the pain is not to bad he does hold off taking the product so it will last longer. It is expensive to be part of this program but if we had to pay full cost for our prescription medication that our insurance helps pay, the cannabis would be a cheaper product.
i experience the same relief for my fibromyalgia nausea and i also find it doesn't do much for pain, however it does minimize the pain i experience from my muscles cramping. but as that's just one part of my general pain experience it's not an overwhelming improvement. but it does help me function a whole load better. like you said though, the nausea relief is amazing, so glad it works for you as well. the inhalation situation is interesting because the effects do vary depending on the method of consumption, and i do know several asthma patients who vaporize cannabis, but obviously trust your doctors and your gut instinct. and the availability definetely needs to improve everywhere, such a shame your insurance doesn't cover it. hope you're having a great day x
Hi Jaquie, I am so happy the medical marijuana has been helping you so much. For opening it, try a rubber cloth over it. I use that for opening jars and it really helps. I continue praying for you and your family. ♡♡♡
I agree that money is always an underlying force, but think the actual drug abuse and impairment issues drive the hysteria that prevents rational thinking about the many benefits demonstrated today. Prohibition of MJ helped create the drug cartels that have devastated Central American countries. And our choice to pour trillions of dollars into prisons rather than treatment for addiction has failed. While I appreciate that the state of Florida is taking a cautious approach to evolve the application of medical usage, it is frustrating to have 50 different state laws. Can Jacquie take her MJ medication out of state?
Brenda Shelonko No, it is a federal offense to take your medical Marijuana over state lines. You can go to jail. It is the reason I am still on opioids for chronic pain. My specialist team is 1000 miles away and I could not take it with me when I see them.
Hi Jaquie, in Germany it is even harder to get the recommendation for medical marijuana! But I got it and it really helps me with nerve pain and balance issues. I am having MS, secondary progressive form, which means the symptoms I am having are getting worse slowly but steady. As I am dealing with lots of neuropathic pain and RLS the medical marijuana helps so much with that. Before I got medical marijuana I took several opiotic drugs to get through the days, which wasn't quite good for my liver , and it wasn't working really well. So my neurologist recommended medical marijuana form e and the process was long, but when you have enough reasons (proven by several doctors) then you get it pretty fast. I use the drops also. I don't like smoking and I am having very sensitive skin, so the creams don't work as well. Glad your GI issues are so much better now! You look absolutely amazing! Have a wonderful day, sincerely Britta
Thanks for all the info. I find that the idea of medical marijuana is a subject surrounded with a lot of misinformation; people don't seem to understand the diff between recreational MJ and medical MJ. Your honesty about this subject will help others, I'm sure.
3:05 "I've done a lot of tweaking" 😂 Just kidding Jaquie, I'm glad you're seeing benefits and you've piqued my interest in medical marijuana for myself.
Talk to your dispensary and tell them that you pain is still not being helped. They should, at least mine did, tell you what dose you should be at. That should help.
I've been using MMJ for 1 1/2 yrs or so. I have chronic Lyme disease plus co-infections. I'm in a lot of pain 24/7, have nausea, depression, anxiety, asthma, CVID, the list goes on and on. My Lyme doctor highly recommended I try MMJ. I finally broke down and tried it. I live in Florida too (Winter Garden, in back of Magic Kingdom). I've tried several dispensaries, I like Trulieve for certain products but I prefer others for quality reasons. I take it orally (capsules), I vape it daily and use topical. I find vaping really helps my pain and so does the topical on my joints. I started with oil but moved to capsules cause I can cut the dose that works for me, much eraser than taking it in tincture form. There are tons of different strains, I've tried so many that have helped me in different ways. I recommend you try different dispensaries, they have different quality products. I try to go for ones that don't use cutting ingredients, they work best for me. If you have any questions or need help feel free to msg me. I'm almost an expert on MMJ at this point. It's like you need a degree and it's so confusing, especially in the beginning.
Isn’t God amazing? So many plants and herbs can help with our illnesses it blows my mind our society makes it so chemicals are preferred over plants I am so glad it’s helping you xx
I'm from Canada, so Marijuana is about to be legal country-wide & I'm excited to see other people benefit, especially when they thought negatively of marijuana beforehand. I've been using Marijuana for months to help me quit abusing alcohol, then I used it for the medicinal factor from an *illegal-ish* dispensary. I got my medical marijuana prescription a few weeks ago! I just got a 1:1 tincture as well and I'm excited to try it out! Indicas usually give me anxiety, and I prefer the energy from Sativa strains (since I deal with my body feeling weak & feeling unmotivated w/ sleep issues!). I suspected Cannabis to work well for you, and I'm so glad it has!
Hey Jackie, I was wondering if the reason some people get such good pain relief is that the MJ helps in the gut with absorption of their conventional pain killers. You have already moved your painkillers to IV and J-tube (bypassing the stomach) so this might help explain the lack of analgesic effect for you. So glad you are getting the GI effects though. Cheers Kath
Cheers for the munchies! They truly are all powerful. Lol. But seriously, I'm so happy you and so many others have benefited from this wonderful plant. It's here naturally for us to use. The stigma around it is awful.
Glad it's working well for you. As for inhaling/smoking MJ, it's considered the least effective form of treatment. Taking MJ orally or topically is far more effective.
Give a watch to Christina Doherty on TH-cam. She has EDS as well, with SEVERE joint instability. Christina uses a product with cbd oil and emu oil. The company is called TheraMu (I think) and Christina seems to find relief from pain in some of their products. Worth a check out I think.
It’s great that this has helped you. I have a hard time opening the little dropper bottle, too! I find the CBD oil works best for calming my restless legs in the early evening.
I'm so happy with the results you are getting. Its not legal in our state but a friend of mind has FM and she gets tremendous relief from smoking weed. I'm sure it depends on the type of pain you have. I tried it once with her and it didnt help my pain. Only made me giddy! Lol. I never liked pot when I was younger (70s & 80s) and really don't like it now. Good thing it didnt work anyway.. lol. Way to go Jacquie
Have you tried the body rub? my grand mother uses it on her hand for when she knits. Its like a muscle relaxer that you rub on the skin, maybe you could look that up.
So glad to hear things are better, Jaquie. I also have MCAS and nausea is my most severe symptom. I keep trying different marijuana blends, ways of ingesting or vaping it, and I still have had zero luck. I presume you are on many meds. Do you worry about the MM interacting with any of your prescribed meds? This is a worry I have. Any advice would be so appreciated.
I'm so happy that you finally tried the medical marijuana! I was very positive that it would help you. In my case to help my chronic pain I do have to have stronger THC which I usually only use at night; because of the "high" feeling. Like you I don't like the impaired feeling but if it helps my pain so I can comfortably sleep through the night it's fine. As long as I'm not impaired during the day. So I actually have the exact same formula as you for my G.I./Gastroparis. I have the one to one formula drops. Then for my pain and anxiety I get a high dose of THC In the form of a cartridge for a vape pen. Now I felt very strange about using such a thing. I have never smoked a day in my life. Not anything, let alone Marijuana! I was always so against it. Honestly I still am if not used correctly. I was so embarrassed I didn't want anyone to see me. I still won't do it in front of my 2 youngest kids, youngest being 21 & 20 lol. Ok but back to topic. The inhalation works extremely fast and very effective. Yes I agree with you 100% about the Indica. I can't do the Sativa; especially because I have PTSD/anxiety. So sometimes If I'm having a bad day I will take a few puffs of the vape pen but not enough to feel impaired. That's another reason I like the vape because I get the high TCH but I can regulate the dose by how many puffs I take. I think it would be something for you to have on hand and use at your discretion. I also went through doc M.J. and I order from Tampa and have it delivered to my door. I live in Lee county. We do have a dispensery in Ft. Meyers, I live in Cape Coral. This dispensery wasn't open yet when I first started; and since it's so new it's more expensive. So it's easier and cheaper to get it delivered from Tampa. Well I know u rambled a bit but glad you have success for G.I. issues. Hope you consider the vape pen and try the high dose T.H.C. for your pain.
It is so frustrating to get any kind of medical mj in Texas. You can only have severe epilepsy to get some with THC. Over the counter stuff isn’t working.
Good Morning Jaquie, thank you for explaining about the medical marijuana, i always wanted to know how does it helps with pain? The only pain medications i take is hydrocone, but when i am in the hospital they give me morphine for my pain.
Jaquie thank you for doing another update! 😊SO glad its helping your gi issues!!! I have a question, we can email if its better, but i knw uve had chronic constipation n impactions too, does mmj/cbd help w that too? Or is it more the nausea, ability to eat without throwing up as much ect? i have massive chronic constipation n ive lost count of how many impactions (bc of my stage 4 endometriosis destroyed my colon but also lots of factors.) Basc we are at our wits end so idk if itd help something like that but id very much appreciate ur(or anyone using mmj/cbd for these issues)opinion on if it can help w this type of gi issues. I know everyone is diff, im just curious ur exp. But either way im so so happy for you!!! 😊💜
My recommendation for your digestive issues is to eat sourkraut for it has the bacteria your gut needs.Thank you for shariong it has helped me. Us Floridians...
I tried that since my doc recommended it too, but it gave me horrible GI spasms and cramps. I am looking into other natural pre and pro biotics though!
Can’t u buy CBD oil in a regular store legally that sells bowls and stuff? Please respond. I’m trying to help my mom. I need to know if there’s a difference between CBD from a dispensary vs a smoke shop.
Have you ever had any adverse effects using the medical MJ with your dysautonomia? I've tried it a few times and each time, I've had an almost immediate flare up(hr above 160 and pre-syncope symptoms). This has been with both thc and cbd and is slightly better with indica, but still happens. Anybody else experience this?
I'm sooooo happy for you! I've never tried it, but would consider a trial if they ever offer it here or if I move to somewhere it can safely attained. How does it work legally when you are traveling?
It’s the opposite for me. My stomach issues aren’t helped but my pain is more manageable with the cbd oil. Have you tried rso oils for pain? I use an rso oil 8:1 cbd to thc and both the cbd and rso oil together really gives me pain relief.
I find it so interesting how much and in what different wants the medical marijuana can help a person! Was anyone in your care team against your use of it?
Thanks for explaining how you ingest your medical marijuana. I did not know if you smoked it Vaped it or had it in a liquid form that you put under your tongue. And as you know marijuana gives you the munchies. So I am so glad that you're eating that is like such a big win for you. I'm glad it's helping in other ways too. I agree with you as far as pain management is concerned it does not really work for me for pain management. but I will say when I do sativa strains I feel more inclined to be productive which obviously means I don't feel as much pain. so it works on that level for me. I know you can't do sativa because it makes you feel too impaired to wired. Thanks for the update I wish all 50 states made it legal for people to use as they need to It's a lot better than alcohol.
Not the best for chronic pain, , I got more relief nausea, I have reduced meds down from 4 a day, to 1 to 1/2 at night so I’ll take that, I thought it would help my pain more too
Hello Jackie I'm also using medical cannabis. For close to the same reasons as you. If you want to message me about what I use or what you could try, I'd love to help.been using for about 6 months I believe
I wonder how Jeds bosses feel about this. Marijuana is still federally illegal even if it’s legal at the state level. I personally think marijuana should be legal everywhere for anyone over 21. I personally don’t partake in the consumption of cannabis but I think it should be a personal choice. Just curious as to what his bosses think about it.
Iam so glad to hear the medical marijuana is helping you at least a little. My advice would be to eat it buy some edible forms and eat it !! That Will help with your pain !.
Jaquie, so happy that the medical marijuana is giving you noticeable symptom relief for your gastroparesis. Thank you for sharing your update with us and hope that all goes well at your 7 month follow up appointment! 🙏🏻🤗❤️

I'm so happy you encouraged your buddy Janiece to start taping a little bit. I missed her. You are an awesome friend.

I can’t imagine the relief you must experience! I am so happy for you!
I've experienced the same thing, awesome results when it comes to GI issues and almost no pain relief. I'm still VERY grateful for it. Thank you so much for sharing your experience and helping to end the stigma.
I am glad things are going well good to hear the medical cannabis is helping I hope you find some medication to help manage the pain love you Jacquie

Horray for cannabis!!! So glad you went through with the medical marijuana! And even happier that you're seeing results 💚🍁
crazy that its not legal in all 50 states. So many people benefit from weed.

They need to legalize medical marijuana in NC!!! I could use the help with my stomach issues
Glad you found something that works for you..amen 👌
It's legal in CA but my pain mgmt dr. Won't refill any opiates if you test positive. Total b.s.
I agree with you. It has saved my life. I’m struggling today.
The sativa makes me very anxious. I use Indica also.
The price is worth the help.

The only reason I don’t have a feeding is because of medical marijuana. God bless weed😂
I tryd the drops i had no pain but i kud not sleep so not for me but i am so happy its helping you
Seeing my first Rheumatologist here in Florida today. Really nervous.
Cannabis doesn't help my pain either and the CBD had it worse. High CBN was a miracle for my insomnia when it was available.
I can’t seem to find the right one. Im using more for anxiety and Tourette’s syndrome so maybe I can stop moving for once.
What is the product name? I heard 1:1 ratio but want to make sure I ask for the one you have there, thank you!
Not the best for chronic pain, , I got more relief nausea, I have reduced meds down from 4 a day, to 1 to 1/2 at night so I’ll take that, I thought it would help my pain more too
What is the name of the company that your CBD is from? What is the name of it? Please. Thank you.
Hello Jackie I'm also using medical cannabis. For close to the same reasons as you. If you want to message me about what I use or what you could try, I'd love to help.been using for about 6 months I believe
Can you recommend something to help me with my gi, pelvic, stomach issues?

I so glad CBD helped you to eat more!
❤️❤️❤️
Thank you your insight can really help me figure what to do for my mother in law who has chronic illness
It isn't illegal since I obtained it through the state's system and purchase at state approved dispensaries. There is no concern because it is legal.
See if you can find the cbd charlottes web. It really helps with fatigue and bone pain ect
Iam so glad to hear the medical marijuana is helping you at least a little. My advice would be to eat it buy some edible forms and eat it !! That Will help with your pain !.
Come on over to California and you won’t have to deal with all the bureaucratic nonsense!
