That was super insightful and relevant, though. Could you maybe name some tennis shoes that have the best toe protection?

Fully agree with Doc that Nike had THE shoe with the GP Turbo. It is criminal what they’ve done with that line. Just go back to it, Nike!!! It’s one of the best shoes ever made!!

It was too narrow for many… like me. Needed to provide it in a wide version

@@peterookotai6965same. Toe box was too small for me and ventilation wasn’t that great.

I have played for almost 20 years in basketball shoes because I am heavier. Base, botton of the line, tennis shoes do not provide enough support, or cushioning to get me around the court. Taking the 5 cent insole out of a brand new shoe is always the first thing I do, replace them.
Finding a durable shoe on that score is somewhat tricky, so I have resorted to sourcing last years models. Less expensive, do the job, and that makes me happy.

hey @FootDoctorZach - wasnt able to get this question in, in time. what services to recommend for re-gluing? I have two outsoles that have bad glue on Nike Breathe Cage II shoes. Do you recommend a cobbler or repair service for this type of repair?

People are so in fear of being sued by the brands , that it starts to make the consumers pissed.off .
Interesting that everyone is so energeticly aligned , that no one corrects each other . WAVE EXCEED TOUR 6 NOT 5 is currently what he liked . The 5 is the one he did not like because he is heavier .
Comfortable responsive foams with a low weight support system which allows for protective long use dynamic function , is key .
He does not personally need more than a few shoes because he tests all the shoes for awhile , then moves to the next , so he does not need more shoes for himself .
When he does personally use a pair for himself then that's a true winner for the ego or health , along with personal performance .

Stop looking for support in tennis shoes. Supportive tennis shoes stop you using your foot muscles. Since I switched to barefoot shoes, I’m playing my best tennis and have strengthened my feet at the same time.

All asics tennis shoes are far too narrow. The solution speed caused my plantar fascilitis. The new Djokovic shoes are horribly narrow. I can only wear the WIDE fit version of the gel resolution 9. People need to vote with their dollars and stop buying narrow shoes, they're horrible for feet

Disagree , asics are the best I’ve worn ! Maybe it suits those with regular width footed players of athletic build

entirely too subjective… Asics may be too narrow for YOUR feet, perhaps, then, try another brand. As it happens, Asics is one of few brands that offers larger sizes, and for many, they fit very nicely.

@@bullettooth7211 I am of an 'athletic build' I coach and I still play, if you think your build determines your shoe size then you know even less about this subject area than I first thought. Let me educate you a bit as you clearly need it. ASICS ARE too narrow, particularly the solution speed and the court FF3 vs the court FF2. Even just looking at them visually you can see they taper too much near the toe box, squashing your feet, reducing and restricting movement, not allowing them to relax. Your toes are supposed to splay out when you walk, if you look at populations who don't wear shoes, they have little to no foot problems. I have worn Nike, Adidas and babolat and started wearing asics in 2020. I didn't even consider width until asics and they gave me these foot problems, before then I had none, after I stopped wearing them I also had no foot problems, when I started wearing them again, they came back. I also know of 7 people off hand (some very good players, coaches, former professional footballers & athletes) in my circle who are either friends, acquaintances or clients who say asics are too narrow and make the same observations as me. But I guess we must all be wrong and now we can go back to asics after hearing it from you, or may be I can change my athletic build to an even more athletic build (I probably have a better body than you) and then I'll magically be able to fit them.
