Dude, totally. These stations were the most fun and unique collection of songs, DJs and bits. It always felt so off, dangerous yet comforting. Some times DJs seem to perfectly cue up a song, and other times it's a crapshoot whether or not you could connect the dots between their planned bits verses the song that is about to play or just finished playing.
I downloaded all the GTA2 radio stations and put them on a CD to play in my car. I would give rides to friends who never played the game and they would usually end up saying something like "Wow! When did the radio get so cool?" HAHAHA

I feel like I'm the only person who listens to this religiously , this radio station just feels so real and not just in a videogame, am I the only one?
I do and I agree. I wish the new GTA 2 would have radio stations similar to the ones that were in this game. The only difference is it should be a mix balance of in house artists and original songs with the insanity that made gta 2 awesome.
If I'm not on a phone/device with a .wav file of the stations copied straight from the game directory, I'm def streaming from YT religiously. Crazy to think for 20 yrs now!
You're definitely not the only one. When I got this in the early 2000s I used to just put the game on, get in a car, and listen to the stations. It really felt like the radio stations I could tune into in those days more or less.
As a New Yorker I wholeheartedly agree with you. I remember the radio being like this in the 80s 90s and early 2000s we have so many different radio personalities so I definitely felt like GTA was calling out to me but then again anyone who is born in the 80s a teenager in the 90s in a young adult and the early 2000s knows.

Crimea was the name of an area of the Residential District (or the Industrial? I don't remember) in GTA2. Ironically, they kind of prophetized something that really happened in the real Crimea.
