I'm amazed that they made a radio station that consists of only five tracks, and somehow all five of them are absolutely godlike and never get boring. Edit: And *three of the five tracks were made by the same group.* (Inner Battle was also made by Slyder under a different name.)
Slyder became the rock band "Shiny Toy Guns", which had a song featured in Burnout Dominator. Their song "You are the One" is basically a redo of "Neo".
I really hope the next generation gamers don't forget what a revolution this game was. in my opinion GTA III is the most important game in the history of gaming
I love trance as it is, especially from the late 90s and early 00s, and when I bought this game back in 2002, I instantly fell in love with Rise FM (mostly because of the Slyder tracks!) - Honestly can't believe it's been nearly 20 years since I bought this game... A lot of nostalgia from this!
Yesterday is gone forever. Maaaaan, right in the feels with that early 2000's nostalgia! I think a lot of us stayed up all night with Rise. I remember pinning the map to the wall right next to my gaming area. Then EQOA came out, Socom 1 and 2 and i stopped playing SP games for YEARS. Finally just got back to appreciating them again. Just in time for the remasters and San Andreas VR!
I’ve been going thru my old trance cd’s and putting together a Spotify list for nostalgia reasons. Then I remembered RiseFM being my absolute favorite station in all the games. It’s 2023 and this will forever live in my heart.
I think the joke about the DJ getting his ass fired went over many of our heads...sheer brilliance by Rockstar to add that in. "...and I'm followed next month by 'DJ Pink Slip,' what's up with that?!" Genius.
fuck N ride with hookers while driving in ridiculous high speed performing insane stunt jumps over ramps when while getting chased by the cops while listening to this awesome radio station, now that's what i call an awesome game experience.
Each station was like 25-30 mins long, and are more iconic than any other video game's radio station. I think it's because they used lesser known tracks that went with the style very well, so you co relate the two, to each other.
Being born in 1998 and never being able to enjoy what once was... that actually was. Trance clubs, jungle DnB... this was all a thing, it all seems like a heaven or lost city of Atlantis now. I played some GTA 3 when I woke up at 4am, went for a jog to the bus stop and RiseFM at pre-dawn has a BEAUTIFUL aesthetic to it! On my way to the first day of my new job in a career I'm dire to pursue.
"Neo (The One)" in radio, driving blue Banshee with max speed on west expressway of Staunton Island, intense rain, gray sky... Something what you never forget... Best track in whole GTA series...
There is something melancholy in this song - Slyder - Score, even when the game came out and I was 12 years old this song penetrated to the depths of my soul, I did not understand why and now after 20 years that flew by like a blink of an eye, the chorus is like a cry of youth, now as never before you feel the transience of life listening to this masterpiece.
"Mission is just about over. My car is smoking. I have 100 cartels chasing me. Plus 300 cops that have decided to join forces with them to kill me. Thank goodness the garage is just around the corner"! 11:08 starts playing. "Eh, a few more laps around the city won't hurt".
I swear this was literally GTA3's version of Mario's invincibility music. If that played, you were untouchable. If @11:08 played... Euphoria kicks in and makes you untouchable (well... Hopefully 😅)
I guess it goes pretty quickly when your a child playing a game where you can beat random people and cops to death on the street in broad daylight leaving them in a pool of blood, or run them down or shoot them, your choice.
This was the game and the station that brought electronic music to my ears as a young boy in a cornfield. I may never fully understand the nuance between each individual subgenre, but the memories of driving laps around the city at night with this playing in the background, the rain spattering the screen, and the streetlights coming into view and then fading back out will forever be with me. Truly an amazing game, an amazing time, and an amazing station.
Man, Slyder really struck gold getting two of his songs into GTA3. They are awesome (if somewhat crude) trancers, and the selling price of the very limited vinyl run is in the 50s of US dollars...
11:11 just goes to another level and still makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up now, epic! Listening to this during lockdown remembering when times were great
this mix is crazy tbh rise fm is what got me into mixing house and edm hearing that early New Jersey garage house & 90s underground NY garage trance this station is classic.. 🔥🔥
I was just getting into Club music when GTA III came out. I didn't even know what the genre was, just the beat, and the sounds. I couldn't describe why I loved it so much; it just resonated. I had just moved out from my home (Active Army) so this was right when the club scene, EDM, and Techno music was moving from underground into mainstream. Hearing it on this soundtrack was a major part of my young life. What a hell of a time to be alive!

11:09 Nostalgia is over 9000 with this one!!
Jump in the banshee, rise fm, full speed, drifting round corners, drive bys in China town, triad’s shouting “somebodycallamedic”
Memories 🥲
AND THE WINNER BY KNOCKOUT IS
for real
Я просто поражаюсь, насколько рокстар правильно подбирают музон к каждой игре. Это щедеврище. Таких бы радиостанций в реальном мире
Zero Qwerty ага
Только к гта 3

@@Усилитель-х3о а как же "Скажи мне мама, сколько стоит моя жизнь?" в GTA IV с гопником Машковым?
@@dimkahon6065 но в гта 3 она подобрана слишком хорошо.
Stayin up forever, with Rise!
There will never be another 2000-2001 or the feeling of playing this on a ps2 for the first time as a kid but the nostalgia gives me chills and brings me back to better times always
I remember the first thing I did as a kid was beat someone with a baseball bat and I felt bad
MSX FM and RISE FM are the best GTA 3 Radios
Moving shadow.com don't stop the body rock
Ye rise fm and game fm two best in gta history both in the same game
Also really love the K-Jah radio in GTA 3
Peace and pleasure my people! Noting else
The faint background melody that starts at 10:15 is so good.
I'm amazed that they made a radio station that consists of only five tracks, and somehow all five of them are absolutely godlike and never get boring.
Edit: And *three of the five tracks were made by the same group.* (Inner Battle was also made by Slyder under a different name.)
idk who Slyder is but he is a beast
@@SrbijaSrbima1312 It's two men, they still make music under a different name I believe.
Thanks for this interesting fact... Absolutely love these tunes.. The Raving Lunatics have a good remix of The One.
This still bangs today! Phew!!!! Thy last track could still be played as of right now. Such great memories
Socom 1 & 2 🐐(especially 2) hopefully it gets it's long overdue remaster 😭
Socom 1 was the shit
I’ve been going thru my old trance cd’s and putting together a Spotify list for nostalgia reasons. Then I remembered RiseFM being my absolute favorite station in all the games. It’s 2023 and this will forever live in my heart.
Damn how I miss the days when trance was in the mainstream radios.
I think the joke about the DJ getting his ass fired went over many of our heads...sheer brilliance by Rockstar to add that in. "...and I'm followed next month by 'DJ Pink Slip,' what's up with that?!" Genius.
My first GTA game ever. Love that Banshee in the auto showcase.
Yo kids, wakey wakey!
Do a barrel roll!
StraightEdgeSoldier[X] I have done a barrel roll many, many times! Trust me! :-)
fuck N ride with hookers while driving in ridiculous high speed performing insane stunt jumps over ramps when while getting chased by the cops while listening to this awesome radio station, now that's what i call an awesome game experience.
"this is my legendary 3 deck marathon session! And I'm followed next soon by DJ Pinkslip! What's up with that?!"
Your tuned into rise!
Gta 3 to była grą niepowtarzalną, podobnie jak jej fantastyczny soundtrack
Each station was like 25-30 mins long, and are more iconic than any other video game's radio station. I think it's because they used lesser known tracks that went with the style very well, so you co relate the two, to each other.
До сих пор помню,как я жену Сальваторе Леоне до ночного клуба под этот музон подвозил.
Под эти все саундтреки можно спидранить игры очень подходит
11:08 16:56 The best techno hits in the GTAIII game. Classic 👍
True
+1
Until you accidentally cross into saint marks
omg or having to exit the vehicle for any reason during the song
12:06 Goosebumps! What an epic track. Real trance, that's what it all is about.
I can totally imagine a nightclub in the late 90s/ early 00s playing songs like this!!! And I dig it 😂
Thank God I grew up to this
Same
Rise FM was the best radio station!!
2001: I chase the police in the game
2020: the police chase me in real life
lol you crazy cool man
Wait really!? OOF 100
Nostalgia..
keep the nostalgia guy off of my game I prefer AVGN instead
Such childhood memories :D Where does time go?!
it flew :(
***** "Time has no meaning anymore!"
I guess it goes pretty quickly when your a child playing a game where you can beat random people and cops to death on the street in broad daylight leaving them in a pool of blood, or run them down or shoot them, your choice.
Sky Vettel who knows....
straight.
Okay, guys! It's November 2024 and it's still rocks, down mine spine all right with the shiver!
11:09 + Banshee with max speed + rainy day + Staunton Island west highway = One of best moments ever in GTA series!!!
I'll take your Banshee and raise you with the Infernus. :)
I’m 28 and I’ve been listening to Rise FM for the past 16 years. Even have it on my iPhone. Yes - it has changed my life that much.
2022 still rockin this dope track 🎶
This kind of music can stand the test of time meaning it will still sound good in 2099
Rise FM....broadcasting liiiiive from the Planetarium...the 24/7....365 off-the-hook stay-up-forever party venue! Weeee make your dreamssss come true
When you get Banshee... And - riiiiiiiiiiiiiiise!! :)
Most of the tracks are from him, he got 1 or 2 tracks here under another alias on Rise FM too xd
@@HugoHakvoort R.R.D.S. is that alias. So there are three tracks in a row by the same dudes: Innerbattle, Score, and Neo (The One). :)
11:11 just goes to another level and still makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up now, epic! Listening to this during lockdown remembering when times were great
Same :)
Same for me )
What a time to be alive. I was so free back then.
Same here!
this mix is crazy tbh rise fm is what got me into mixing house and edm hearing that early New Jersey garage house & 90s underground NY garage trance this station is classic.. 🔥🔥
Reminds me of the good ol days, doing SPANK and partying at the warehouses in Portland by the docks...
🤣
Be careful, the police are doing narcotic raids.
Rise fm is a legend
Almost 20 years later... still amazing.
STAYIN UP FOREVER! WITH RISE!
15:20
20:48 What a transition. Smooth as hell.
11:11 - That is just amazing.
