It's called an Ebow. Don't ask me how it works because I haven't got a clue all I know is it can makes some epic sounds in the right hands. The Edge's hands for example.

Thank you Alan. I used a Timmy overdrive pedal but just with a tiny bit of gain to emulate amp natural breaking. Guitar was tuned standard but I know U2 play it live Eb. Sorry I don't remember the bpm.

Hi Adam, it's just an easy lick to go from Am to F. So you play Am and then like a pentatonic lick, bending 2nd fret in G string and letting the G sound, after bending 2nd fret in D string and letting the D ring and finish on the F chord. Sorry but I'm not good with tabs. Hope it helps!

The device he uses to prolong the notes at the start is an e bow. Google them they’re about 50 to 100 quid 👍
Or you can use the wammy bar if yer guitar has one, saving you sone money

Yes, it's called an ebow and basically it's a laser hitting the string and making it vibrate so it will sustain.
@@RobertBisquertGuitar It's electro magnetic induction not lasers, I believe. Think the blue is just a light to help show you where the string is
