Moved to here in 2010, bought the house for cash, can't do that in Toronto. London is an interesting mix of housing, lost a lot of industry by 2012, slowly recovering from the recession but not bad to retire here. Trust you noted the roads, slightly cratered. London owned it's own railway till 1965, now CN. Can still take a ride electronically on the London and Port Stanley, there's a lesson in change.
I lived there in 1986 and 1987 yet still visit sometimes since then. I prefer those times more than the present. The city seemed livelier then. I miss the GM New Look buses that roamed the streets then.
Hi Mark how's Murray? I loved london in the early 70's, went back recently and it seemed souless. i enjoyed the patronage of the Forest City Gallery and that whole art scene, Rock on Ron Benner.
Interesting concept to making a before & now vid. Curious though, you born, raised & schooled here? Here's a bit of a tease, I visualized myself being you & being very familiar with streets & locations. Use to visit the Value-Mart, Wortley Roadhouse across the street & the TD Bank on the Village and travel thru Horton/Hamilton Rd. with COPPS & Burks Flowers on the right side. Tks for the past & current memories... remembered it all! I've added your album to my Spotify account. Cheers from sunny Florida.
@@MarkFavro sure no problem. Frankly no idea. I have made no intentional recommendations on utube. Only on Google to look at print news w/ LFP & read up on local news such as the obituary. Utube can be a money maker BUT it can be alot of work. Your subs are low if you have a marketable theme it can sell! My only suggestion at your level is to view similar vids & take some pointers. If it's any interest I can list what I watch if it helps in a future post. The subs range from some 50K to 12M. But thanks for designing your '82 to '20 vid. Damn. I’ve lived in London my whole life. I was born in 2001, so seeing the place I’ve grown up in and sights that are familiar to me during that time period is very cool. Sad to see it look so fun back then..
I was born here in 1940 grew up in South London went to Tecumseh school, when our kids were young we bought a house on Ridout near Tecumseh and my children went to the same school. Swam at Thames Pool. It’s a crime the Pool has been Tabled for good. Up until Covid I was going to the pool with my great granddaughter. I was a nurse at Parkwood at both the old location on Grand Ave and the Commissioners road location. Miss old south. Live in North London now.
The year I got my driver's license, downtown had the Brunswick, Ridout, Mingles and the Firehall, used to buy 5 or 10 bucks worth of gas in my $1200 car with a $1500 stereo ,lol
Well done, nice backing music, Sadly though I didn't recognize any of those streets. I lived in Westmount, then Old South London in the 70s, I'm guessing this was shot mostly in the East end? ✌

Must have taken a lot of effort to shoot it exactly like the '82 video. Respect.
