bought this off ebay and just waiting for the delivery. Thank you; your review made me more in-love with it and tremendously happy about my purchase. It goes perfectly with my Asus gaming laptop (NVIDIA 560M with 2G, and 16G memory)...jus loving Asus products....

I love ASUS. My notebook is an ASUS. Your video clearly made me realize ASUS Transformer is the right one for me. Thanks!
I own This tablet and it's hands down top 3 tablets on the market right now. Media runs amazingly well and the sound quality both through speakers and headphones is great. The display is gorgeous; it is glossy, but not as bad as the one on IPAD 2 or some other tablets. Reading ebooks feels very natural, since the processor is pretty fast there is no lag or any freezing. On top of all there is a keyboard dock which makes writing emails and word docs a blast. I strongly recommend this tablet...
I bought this Android tablet in September 2011, simply as a very basic stand-in for a laptop that I couldnt quite stretch myself to budget-wise. 9 months later and this has come to be one of the best purchases of IT equipment that I have ever made. Android OS is not perfect but what is? The overall package has been exceptional in performance, productivity, entertainment and of premium build quality. I dropped this machine 3 times already whilst dashing through airports in Europe and not a pixel
I have a generic crap 7" tablet with low resolution, single core processor, but at least it has a capacitive screen, and I love it. I'm pretty sure the Transformer I ordered is gonna be quite a vast improvement. Thanks for the review. Just a few days before it gets here and the review and comments are making it feel like forever.
OK, I just got mine today, and let me just say that this is the handiest portable gadget ever. What an amazing tool! This baby can do just about anything, and I can only imagine exactly what it'll be capable of with the keyboard component, which I'm getting soon. :D
Good review. In addition to the speed and power of the Transformer, the keyboard dock is what clearly sets it apart from ALL the other tablets. The keyboard dock is THE GAME CHANGER. Why? Because it has a built in battery that effectively doubles the battery life of the Transformer. When you're not using the tablet, just dock it and let the keyboard charge it. The keyboard also allows faster typing when sending out emails or writing notes. This is how I always envisioned a tablet to perform.
thanks for another great review. You review new products much better than some other tech sites like cnet, where they basically just tell you the specs.
it's nice to have a review that says "just buy this one". i'm sick of there being too much information available and never feeling like i've done enough research. but i still too much of a control freak to just go buy something with no research at all.
I couldn't wait to see this video when I saw the unboxing! The biggest attraction for me was the keyboard dock... but in all honesty, I don't know how practical it would be... though it does seem nice. I am looking to get a tablet, and I was almost sure I was gonna get this. But I still think I'm gonna hold out for a quad-processor. There right around the corner, and I'd be kicking myself if I picked this up now. Though it's ridiculously tempting!
Thanks for the great review! I had the Xoom, but had some issues with it to say the least. Considering Asus took the time to at least get the SD and USB working properly I"ll defiantly be giving this one a try.
I'm stunningly surprised that you really like this device! Engadget picked at it for being laggy!!! :O and only gave it 7/10! Oh well. Good to watch multiple reviews.
wow really nice timely review, i'm considering purchasing one of thse once the dust settles a little bit. right now they seem very hard to find due to some combination of low supply or high demand. shame they didnt send you a dock to review too though. i think this tab is going to show that price is king, just read a report on how xoom was an epic sales bomb even compared to other android tabs, and i think the main difference is the 200 dollars in price.
Great video Jon. It's always a pleasure to watch and listen to your reviews. How would you say the Eee Pad Transformer compares to the new Galaxy Tabs (8.9 and 10.1)? Cheers!
After watching this i bought the transformer lol ... i was researching for days for the best tablet. Something I could take notes for school nd this seems to be the right one. was about to get the ipad 2 since i have an iphone but this video change my mind. thanks.
My thoughts exactly, having tried the Xoom, Acer tablet and a few others, this Asus beats them all hands down. I didn't get a chance to try the dock, but I think I may have found my tablet of choice!
Excellent review. Based on your review (And another showing the MINOR cons) I have decided to purchase this tablet for myself. It comes on Wednesday :)
@SuperGigaman I agree, and just because it doesnt have a mail or calendar app doesnt make it a bad tablet, just wait for the first update and it will be the best tablet with its true multitasking, and its beautiful camera, etc.
I find it stupid that the highest rated comments always happen to point out the most irrelevant thing about the video and generally points out the worst part of the video no matter how good it is... Real mature guys.
I am watching this video on my 3 y/o ASUS Eee pad (Tf101). Only problem in this 3 years is, that in last half a year to year it has began to lag a lot and luncher become unstable...but other than that it is still faster than Samsung galaxy note (10 inch version+2014 edition)...best buy ever...
Hey guys, This is NOT a netbook, but better in my opinion. You're not branded with Verizon's logo etc and you're not paying a monthly subscription. The transformer also comes with a Microsoft Office- LIKE setup called polaris, which is very convenient because it crosses that boundary between tablet and laptop, making this effective for school users. (More questions I see) Emulators? A: YES. Android is wide open to rocking Contra on your tablet, and street fighter after a big test.
I got this device based on this review, so far I have zero complaints but it is my 1st pad so nothing to compare it to... but it dose everything I want and imo is well worth it. Also have the keyboard thing and imo it is awesome, not sure why he doesn't like it, then again, this is my 1st pad, so I am still clinging to laptop functionality maybe.
I want this thing so much! It's awesome! I'd be so stuck between between the iPad in this. As far as functionality and power, I'd go with this, but I really like all the drive and the community behind the iPad for jailbreaking. So, yup, that'd be my only issue.
Nice review! I really like the idea of having virtually a laptop and a tablet. I don't want an iPad cause I have an iPod touch 4 already and they seem too similar.
very interesting, love the idea of the keyboard dock @jon4lakers any news of a car dock for this? still waiting to see what the nexus tablet is gonna be like but i'm definatly gonna give this one a serious look based on your review
I'm getting this one in December. My only gripe is the name. When I first heard about it, I honestly thought it was a knock-off of the iPad. "Eee Pad." lol I don't like the name, but I've heard nothing but good things about this device. It won't be that 'new' anymore come December, but I'm still looking forward to owning it. 7:28 You naughty boiee. Actin' all innocent with your friendly voice and stuff...only to casually drop the C-word.
Good review! Question though! I have an Asus laptop and I have a lot of documents I need and use, will I be able to put them on a USB and simply put them on the Eee Pad? And I'm assuming I'll be able to do everything that I do on the laptop on the Eee Pad? Thank you for the review! And please reply! :D
@Walkop2011 All good points. I don't even notice the 3mm. My "old man" just bought the Asus Transformer (that's why we came here to watch the review) He decided not to buy the keyboard. He has a bluetooth keyboard he bought for $10. He said he just use that. Personally I don't need 16 hours of a battery the keyboard gives. Nice but I'd never need. Still he decided on the Xformer & I can't wait to go over there and help him dissect it! Should be fun.
You know what would be really freaken cool, if Asus or someone could make a loader to use linux or windows on this so if you needed to use some basic desktop apps real quick you could, or a preferable route, something that works like parallels on macbook , I know this is the point of a tablet but hey there's never to much to have right ? Regardless I am buying this ASAP though and deff meets my standards in every way especially price ! I CAN'T FREAKEN WAIT !!
@ZackTM21 I'm a huge Apple fan, and i gotta say because of Apple restrictions on the ipad, the ipad for me really seems like a overgrown ipod touch. The android os really gives the freedom of watever you want to do, and this tablet is awesome combining the android os at that price. I got mine for $385
I'm quite sad atm as our Eee pad is currently back at the store being repaired, I was using it to browse the web one day and then closed the screen after a while, then when I went to use it again it just kept booting and when turned off /on again would not go any farther than the asus boot screen! So we took it back and the store who booked it in for a repair with minimal fuss, only had it a few weeks and it's been great so far, I just hope they can repair it quickly!!!
@stevnx2 Did they actually have them in stock at a store? Just curious at the local BB's are clueless about the product and the online store sold out very quick.
@md2k6 iPad 2 comes with word processing standard, while the Eee Pad Transformer does not. In terms of app variety, both the App Store and Android Market have extremely varied libraries. The App Store has around 500,000 apps, while the Android Market has about 200,000.

this is actually one of the best tablets/laptops ever. i love it!
I bought this Android tablet in September 2011, simply as a very basic stand-in for a laptop that I couldnt quite stretch myself to budget-wise. 9 months later and this has come to be one of the best purchases of IT equipment that I have ever made.

I subscribed to your channel in 2011 because of this video
Mohamad Azmouz kkjj
I really like the cuts of the rest of the tablet while you talk. It beats staring at a stationary tablet while you talk.
Mine is being shipped today, I was on the fence but this video made me actually buy it
@Mirarenai Trying some new editing.
thanks for another great review. You review new products much better than some other tech sites like cnet, where they basically just tell you the specs.
you u bring back the old technobuffulo intro to your videos.. its much nicer than the new one
it's nice to have a review that says "just buy this one". i'm sick of there being too much information available and never feeling like i've done enough research. but i still too much of a control freak to just go buy something with no research at all.

i just ordered this at best buy. i cant wait for it to come. nice review.
Oh wow.. I was not expecting that kind of review from Asus. Very, very good
I got mine and I had no idea what I was getting but I am in love with it sweeet sweeet sweeet
Thanks for the great review! I had the Xoom, but had some issues with it to say the least. Considering Asus took the time to at least get the SD and USB working properly I"ll defiantly be giving this one a try.
So excited!!! Getting it for my b-day in a month.
I'm stunningly surprised that you really like this device!
Engadget picked at it for being laggy!!! :O and only gave it 7/10!
Oh well. Good to watch multiple reviews.
i just bought this amazing tablet because of your review! cant wait to get it !!!
Fantastic review, such depth and kept it interesting throughout. Nice job!

12 minutes is much better and very appreciated

Just got mine last night, can't wait to use it. Gonna pick up the keyboard dock!
Thanks for being concise and talking about what matters. Good review.
Based on just your review, I am seriously considering purchasing this instead of a low scale laptop for the last year of high school
I just bought a refurbed one for 330 and can't wait to get it!
got mine for Christmas i absolutely love it
@AchilesX thanks, puts my mind at ease, i'm definitly gonna go with the Asus Transformer, as soon as i find a buyer for my laptop.
I just won a Transformer. My first tablet. Thanks for the great review @jon4lakers I hope they are forthcoming with ice cream sandwich.
the transformer is an amazing tablet. just bought one the other day. This video was very helpful.
@SuperGigaman I agree, and just because it doesnt have a mail or calendar app doesnt make it a bad tablet, just wait for the first update and it will be the best tablet with its true multitasking, and its beautiful camera, etc.
Great Review Jon! I just wish I could order this right now... All retailers are already out of stock. :(
I find it stupid that the highest rated comments always happen to point out the most irrelevant thing about the video and generally points out the worst part of the video no matter how good it is... Real mature guys.
I have one word about your review... "Awesome"

Emulators? A: YES. Android is wide open to rocking Contra on your tablet, and street fighter after a big test.
Thanks for this review. I am on my way to the store. The live wallpaper is also cool. Is it with asus or have you downloaded that one? Thansk again
I love it. With under keratoses dock, I believe you can get about 17 hours variety life total. That's amazing.
I got this device based on this review, so far I have zero complaints but it is my 1st pad so nothing to compare it to... but it dose everything I want and imo is well worth it. Also have the keyboard thing and imo it is awesome, not sure why he doesn't like it, then again, this is my 1st pad, so I am still clinging to laptop functionality maybe.
man i love your reviews make my choices more easy!
great review. been waiting for a good android tablet.
Amazing vids, do you buy all these and keep them or just to review?
im getting this !
i have the money and this is totally worth it.
better than the Ipad 2
After trawling through TH-cam for the last hour I can catagorically say this is the best Eee Pad Transformer review by far. Thanks!
did you buy that jon?
Amazing both as a tablet and as a netbook. I recommend it.
*convinced* finally I know which Tablet I want to buy!!!
I don't want an iPad cause I have an iPod touch 4 already and they seem too similar.
very interesting, love the idea of the keyboard dock

im watcthing this with my asus eee pad transfomer and i just got it yesterday .. awesome tab!!!!!!
hi...i saw the video. does the keyboard comes along with this tablet when i purchase it??? anyways, nice overview
I got one for Christmas and it is amazing!
The tablet + keyboard combo is the answer for some people looking for a netbook.
Nice review Jon!
I'm very impressed and hope to buy one soon.
Does techno buffalo make reviews on more than just tablets.
Do you think that the Eee Pad Transformer would be good for a Freshman in college next year to take notes and other easy tasks?
@Walkop2011 All good points. I don't even notice the 3mm. My "old man" just bought the Asus Transformer (that's why we came here to watch the review) He decided not to buy the keyboard. He has a bluetooth keyboard he bought for $10. He said he just use that. Personally I don't need 16 hours of a battery the keyboard gives. Nice but I'd never need. Still he decided on the Xformer & I can't wait to go over there and help him dissect it! Should be fun.
That's a slick looking background!
Best tablet in the market atm. in any aspect. the built quality is amazing and is up to par with Ipad.
Great review John
Bought it, best tablet ever.
I hope to buy this dis weekend if they get them back in stock soon
5:10 my favorite youtuber
This is the first android tablet that has impressed me.
Would you say this is a good tablet to buy for a college student to carry around to classes and also browse the internet and do social networking in?
I love the thought of android 3.0, but they really need to work on animation speeds
Got one yesterday...im in love. Have to buy keyboard seperately though but Im ok without it.
Great review, Jon. :)

The Official King of Tablets!
my friend got one and it's really awesome, i considering getting one to myself.
This is my favorite tablet on the Citadel.
@ZackTM21 I'm a huge Apple fan, and i gotta say because of Apple restrictions on the ipad, the ipad for me really seems like a overgrown ipod touch. Can you print directly from this device onto a printer on a home network?
Asus Eee Transformer... SOLD!! If it's good enough for John @ TechnoBuffalo it's good enough for me!! :)
Using one of the USB ports, could you hook up an external hard drive?
Also, does the keyboard come with the tablet out of the box?
I'm an iPad user but this is the first android tablet I would actually buy
What about OUTPUT access? I love everything about this, but my main "quest" for a tablet to have is an HDMI capability to connect to larger monitors.
this is the best tablet!i'm gettin' this for xmas
@stevnx2 Did they actually have them in stock at a store? Just curious at the local BB's are clueless about the product and the online store sold out very quick.
great review :)
what is the price of that one??
Jon what do you think about the asus eee pad transformer
What do you think of the Samsung 10.1" tablet? Not worth the extra $100? I'm still trying to choose one..
@md2k6 iPad 2 comes with word processing standard, while the Eee Pad Transformer does not.
In terms of app variety, both the App Store and Android Market have extremely varied libraries. The App Store has around 500,000 apps, while the Android Market has about 200,000.
as expected from ASUS..it's so awesome, a tablet and a laptop.
CANT WAIT FOR MINE TO BE DELIVERED!!! ARRRGGHH!
In terms of note taking and app variety, which tablet fairs better? The ipad 2 or Transformer?
