  • The iconic British brand MG is now officially in Malaysia. Morris Garages, which is what its name stands for, has been around for over a hundred years and has carved a name for itself as a purveyor of some really fun cars.
Unfortunately though, just like many other iconic British brands (like Lotus), MG is not the same as what it used to be, and now exists as a brand only. MG was bought by a Chinese company in 2005, and the rest is history.
Today though, it creates some awesome electric cars, and that is what we want to talk to you about today. MG has done astonishingly well in Thailand, and here's what MG will offer for the Malaysian market.
MG has given an estimated price for the Malaysian market:
    MG4 Standard from RM104,000
    MG4 Lux from RM129,000
MG4 Lux Extended Range from RM 149,000
    MG4 XPOWER from RM159,000

Even the biggest English premier league club is not owned by the English but by Americans & Arabs, so what’s the big deal if MG is owned by the Chinese. Capitalism Wei.

The legroom and headroom for the MG ZS EV(SUV) is much better than the MG4. Not only is it more spacious, there is a sense of premium luxury feel for a price of less than RM129K. The presenter needs to be more technically informed rather than looking at his device and explain basic details like engine, seating comfort, handling, tires, etc.

Relax, it's a first impression. We will delve into the details once we get the car for a proper full on review. But thank you for the feedback and for your comment.

Where is MG ZEEKR 001? It is inferior comparing to what I saw in China. Little by little I'm feeling offended by these Chinese EV brands entering Malaysia with low and inferior model. Not sure it is our government "not smart" policy or some local consultant advising the Chinese company to bring in mid range lukewarm model. BYD came in first with Atto 3 (Yuan Plus) and until today only have 3 models (Han, Tang, Seagull, Song, Qin are not in Malaysia market) and they lost to Tesla almost immediately. Neta also brought in the inferior model of Neta V (Of course it is different situation as GWM appointed a terrible master dealer. OR probably they lookdown on Malaysia market
These Chinese EV brand won't be successful if they don't open their branch or Malaysia office here directly. They will definitely fail with master dealer..
Hope that Aito, Aion, Nio, Li or any other good Chinese EV brand will open branch here directly and our government stop using useless policy to retard the growth for EV. I'm driving a

@@PistonMalaysia Chery used to appoint dwaler in Malaysia and they failed. Now that there are managing it directly. Wasn't this what I'm saying? 2ndly your choice of word "MOST" are only able to name 2 out of many brands and these 2 are not EV except Ora which carry by GWM and Neta is a brand only produce EV? Therefore would MG or any other brand which may be landing in Malaysia via appointing dealer do well?

@@kongming2005 Actually, what is your point? The fact is, GWM and Chery are both officially available here and they didn't appoint local distributors. Where else Neta operates via a local distributor. And what is wrong with using the word most? Nitpicking much?
