In 2018 three young writers were fatally run over by a passenger train in London. The father of one of the three boys, Carlos Fresneda, journalist, writer and author of the book “Querido hijo", is the key that lets us delve into a subject as delicate as it is rapturous, tackled in a unique way in this audiovisual report.
The specific case of the writers Kbag, Lover and Trip allows us to reflect on everything that surrounds this kind of tragic event, a phenomenon that is inevitably frequent in illegal graffiti. Analyzing the sense of risk in graffiti, the mourning processes of loved ones or the social response to these events, are some of the objectives of In the Name of the Son. This production aims to motivate a deep reflection on graffiti, art, death and life, both for writers and for people outside the culture.
In addition to the invaluable testimony of Carlos Fresneda, in this short documentary we also have the statements of Isabel Carrasco, mother of Trip, Stone, writer and friend of Trip; Snoe, writer and father of a son; and Temp32, former graffiti writer who was with the three young men shortly before the tragic accident.

First time I saw a media post on a writer who was hit by a train in 09 I was surprised at the comments, so much hate for someone who just paints. RIP✊

most people don't get that it's just paint. i've seen and heard so many comments under newspaper articles when a writer got busted like "make'em clean the wall with their own toothbrush", "chop of them hands" or "put'em in a hard labor camp" - in the eyes of most people we're hardcore criminals. It'll never change, conservative society gets and always will get offended by paint. They'll never get it and after years I'm done with explaining to people who don't understand, I do my thing and I give a fuck about the rest. R.I.P to those three writers and all the best for their families.

You are right. World would be filled with artists if parents wouldn' t refuse to have such a child. Wild art doesn' t pay for anything, it just eats up a workers mind and a students time. We are the refused misfit children that still got a sense for their environment, even if we have been told that exactly that is not necessary to live in this Babylon. These parents up in the video must have a stable background, or that kid wouldn' t have been that pro.

Im a low profile writer and trains just make me sad, trackside too, my gf took her life 16 months ago on the tracks everytime my mates cross the track over and not thru the tunnel I start shivering very hard and i get frozen, R I P to my guy

Hola Carlos e Isabel, me parece algo maravilloso, el video este tipo de cosas hacen que sigan con nosotros de una forma diferente , pero real , no tenemos su presencia física, pero tenemos todo lo que hemos podido compartir con ellos y eso si que es único e intransferible es algo nuestro y que seguirá eternamente con nosotros, como dices no hay fases de duelo, el duelo es constante unas veces viene de una forma y otras de otra, pero sigue estando ahí, a veces te angustia y otras te colma de felicidad , creo que este tipo de cosas hace reencontrarnos día a día con ellos, yo hablo todos los días con ella, unas veces con mejor humor otras reprochando el porque ( y no hay un porque ) y otras pidiéndole opinión y de una forma u otra siempre tengo respuesta.

My cousin was actually pushed onto the tracks in 08 while his crew was having a fight with another crew & died as a result. The comments & things said to this very day are still sickening considering it wasn’t even an accident

Some of the photos on this vid are really old. I'm 47, and I remember seeing some of them almost 30 years ago, in graffiti mags, when I was buying them. By the way, that TARZAN whole car, at 3:00, that was that painted by RATE/ZOMBIE, or PRIME?
