almost every pedal review is just a variation on the same thing; twiddle some knobs, often at random, play some blues licks, "comment, like and subscribe!" This review really stands out and I hope you start getting the popularity and exposure you deserve. Good stuff man
Excellent review! I see you have an AMT Stutterfly Delay on your board. I have two and I just love them. Many killer delays sounds and so many useable features in a small enclosure.
The dirt on the side made me think it was an open box or return.. then when you opened it up and there was a battery inside, I think it really may have been used. As far as the sort of unrefined metal finish.. I absolutely love it!
My 1977 Small Stone has that volume drop. EH was unable to solve this in 40 years?? I had to implement a little buffered amp inside the pedal, with a volume knob. It sounded great that way :) The old version has enough room inside to do this kind of things...
@@christopherrusch It was done by my electric man, I have no idea about electronics...sorry... And I've never had issues with the footswitch by the way...

The patch cable tester was interesting. What's your verdict on the EBS flat patch cables now, Max? The EBS didn't do too well 7:55. I really wanted to use flat cables, either EBS or Warwick, for my pedalboard because they are so low profile and space-saving. Those solid metal patch connectors did well, probably because they are 100% shielded.
Well, i'm still using them whenever there's no space for connectors. EBS are not that bad really :) I think where you use them plays a great role as well. If there's a bad cable before the preamp or distortion, this will affect the sound dramatically. I have an idea to get like 20-30 cables, more or less everything what's available now and test them. just need to find a store that would be up for that, maybe JustMusic
Max Solo Music - Thanks Max. Keep up the great work... all that detail with looking at the circuit board, bypass resistance, click/pop level when you activate the pedal, frequency analysis, level meter... that's all stuff that nobody else does!
I got the nano and noticed a volume boost. Played for a while and turned it off. When I went to play again there was a massive volume drop! Any ideas why this happened? I'm going to have return it I'm afraid.
Hi. There's a link to a PDF file with test results in the description to my video on 79 patch cables. Any cable from the 'safe to use' part of the document will do!

Thanks. I'm seriously thinking about making a video on that topic. Maybe after Musikmesse, that's gonna be a right place to get cables from different manufacturers
Just recently bought a small stone as I have wanted one for ages. Annoyingly it makes loads of noise when it's on while the guitar isn't being played. It's like a white noise with the phaser effect, kind of like in this video at 3:45. Anyone got any ideas that might fix this?
This review should be an example for everyone trying to review pedals. Great work!

Nope, it was new. They all come with batteries inside
@@MaxSoloMusic Okay :) I subscribed.. love the very in depth review! BTW, mine doesn't do the noise thing at all when I touch the unit.

Maybe your power supply is killing your pedals

Hey Max, I have the same problem with the patch cables with more than one EHX pedal, can you suggest any good patch cables for them?
Hi. Mooer connectors worked good for me so far. As for cables, I can not really recommend anything yet. At least until I test more cables :)
Have fun with it! Hopefully there are some.. Please let me know!

Is there a way to control the volume going down and (specially) up so much with the effect on? Another pedal, a mod?
Some mod could probably fix this

Hahahaha
That's a good one
At low settings its almost a reverb right?

Mmm, a better designed pedal maybe?
@@MaxSoloMusic Lol thanks for the input XD, btw great video man.
Bro, that’s totally normal with phasers, even the digital plugin versions have that issue

Yep. Written for this song open.spotify.com/track/1JRaLp64yhoOfP0n3hoLHf?si=HVQqLUGgR5KnDzFDcz77rg
9:27 you hardly tested your own cable on the small stone for even one second.
