I love that they used a lot of music from season 1! The opening song was the same and the conversation with Christina at the end in the bar was all things they have said to each other in other contexts too 🥲it may not add value to the plot but it was so fun to feel a little bit of that early season energy again!
It was pointless... but it also absolutely wasn't. Among other things like being hilarious for all the little changes between characters & relationships, If/Then shows us where some of the characters were pre-Grey's. It's easy to see the Shepherds exactly how they were behaving to one another at the start of the series; Miranda (Mandy!) was very quiet & soft spoken to start with, she eventually became the Bailey we all know, just it didn't need her being fired by Ellis. Hunt still has crippling & dangerous levels of PTSD, there's still a connection between Callie & Arizona. Everything coming full circle at Joe's bar with Mer & Cristina then 'McDreary' in the end? It seems some things are just meant to be in any Grey's universe!
12:00 This episode makes me feel like in an alternative universe, George did get fired after season 3 instead of hanging around for two more seasons. 22:23 Meredith's line about her mother wanting everyone to be small doesn't make sense. Since Ellis is the best in her field, what other people do doesn't matter to her because she's the best. Ellis most likely wants others to rise to her level which is impossible.
@@MrPassion4truth see I always saw that as Ellis not wanting to be challenged by anyone, allowing her to continue to win all those awards and such. Especially when she had Bailey fired in this episode, taking her surgery from her to show off “my own technique I invented” and then instead of listening to her about something incredibly important, she made it all about her being “humiliated.” Not even caring about when Meredith came to her crying, it’s all about her and her image
All the throwbacks to old stuff that actually happened on the show were so perfect. ❤

The weirdest but funniest episode of the series!
This episode was wild. I like the subtle connections to the real world like the girl in the bar one.
