Thats a whole different controller than the dcs. I have a dcs12000 . My controller got so hot that the plastic started melting there where you plug the powercord in. So got to mail them with some pictures. 😉😉 but I do love the pump. Strong and quiet.
Thanx K-reef. I like it so far. The dcs has that whine when starting up but was quiet. This one is dead silent. That controller is cool. I'm waiting to see is the power usage goes up when it gets dirty.
Dave! Thanks so much for this video. I literally had this pulled up in another tab ready to buy. I too will be running from a basement to upstairs so ill head over to the channel you suggested.
Thanks for the video. How did you attache the white PVC to the pump? Did you use PVC solvent and primer or just use a press fit. I'l be using it inline, not submerged, so leaks would be bad for me.
@@Davelembo I actually checked today. Even with the sun hitting it, I'm not feeling it getting hot at all. Just because something comes from China doesn't mean it has to be inferior quality. I'm hoping these new pumps from Jebao don't break down right after the warranty goes out. (lol) I like these pumps with the new controller and they also have a wireless option. The aqualink T1 gives them controllability from your phone.

Hey. I want to buy that pump, too. But I have a water rise height of 3 meters and the total length of the return pipeline is 5 meters. Do you think she sprats?
Says it has a head hieght of 18 feet [about 6 meters] and vertical hieght is all you count so you should be good. Look at Laminar Flows Channel. He is pumping up a floor so you should be good
Your connection for the output slips in the provided pump adapter is for standard USA 3/4 inch PVC? I had a pump come in with all metric PVC sizes, what a pain to deal with
I love all my Jebao equipment. We run three DCS 7000s in the XL 425 system, one is the return pump and it runs at only 60% to get the flow I need. (The other two pump water upstairs from the RODI and saltwater tubs in the basement and both are set at only 70% so I don’t get jets of water into the sump or top-off reservoir.) We were just talking about pulling the return pump for maintenance and I think I’ll do that soon. That controller is huge compared to the DCS controllers! Does it turn back on at full strength every time now? Or just the first time you used it? Great video Dave. Refugium is looking like it’s the business, full of the green stuff. 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanx Reefgrrl. Yea it was messy behind that propeller. The controller powers up where you left it. It shows "P" power until you hit the up or down button, then it goes to "F" and shows the % of flow. I like it. Lots of power
Nice review Dave. After seeing the internals of the Jabao It looks almost identical to my Reef Octopus pump but at a fraction of the price. If my return ever fails I'm definitely going with a Jabao.
I’m using the 5000 it’s great so far and have been using jeabo for years without any problems I think you can’t go wrong as long as you have a spare on hand how could you.
Hi ! Does it work well today? Did you have a problem with her? I want to buy one of this same model but I saw few opinions about its quality after a few months of use. Thanks
Hey Dave, Im looking into replacing my 2 dolphin 4800 pumps with two Jebao 20000s. Can the pumps be run inline instead of submerged? All the videos I see are smaller pumps inside the sump. The humming from two big a/c pumps is pretty distracting, I just wanna turn the volume down on my system. Are you still satisfied with performance and reliability?
Hi I read reviews and i watch video for this pump but I did not understand if the flow could be reduced less of 65%, for example the DCP-6500 have max flow about 1710 gph, i ask if possible to adjust the flow at 50%(855gph), 40% (680gph) or less. I asked the vendor and he propose me an additional controller ( for see other info is AQLink T1). This component is necessary or no to adjust del flow rate less 65%. thanks
I can turn down the flow to any percentage of flow I want. I'm not sure that 50% flow is actually exactly 50% of the gallons per hour, but it can be tuned very low. Thanx for watching. Hope that helps
thanks for y answ if i buy it, is the first dc pump for me then i had doubts about the flow rate. I read the manual and there are 71 settings for speed (F30 to F100) but a crafty vendor tell me the flow are adjustable from 65% on top, this is different from the one written in the operative manual that i found, I think he wanted to sell me also the additional controller, but that is used to recreate tides, etc.
It is called micro bubble scrubbing. Using a wood airstone and catching the smallest bubbles, send them into the return pump and let them circulate throughout the tank. It helps to oxygenate the water, help corals remove waste and lifts detritus over the overflow so it can be processed in the sump. I run it a few hours at night to help with pH drop
Dave! You ever use any of the jebao nano pumps? I have seen they had a few! How loud do those pumps normally get for you? How do you like the ato? Also found another way for funding if you don't get the 200/300 subs you need!
Thanx for stopping bye Alex. I haven't used the jebao nano pumps. I think CJ's stopped working after a short time. I have a PP8 on my big tank and it works great. You can hear it pulsing when you are right next to it. I doubt I'll get the subs and not real important, just that I worked up $90 and I'm sure I'll never see it. Disappointing is all.
As soon as I started watching I was like... there's no way he's tearing apart that brand new pump. And then you said you would tear down the old one. It was like you were reading my mind lol
Great review Dave! How are you liking it a month in? These jebao Sine Wave pumps interest me..really considering picking up the 20000 model for a backup in case my main return ever fails

Hey Dave I have the DCP 18000. That pimp is a beast. Very quiet too. The new sine wave tech is on point. You will enjoy that pump.
Thanx Preecint. So far it looks like it can handle everything I need and then some
Hey brother I have a same pump but 15000 ..the problem is the water go down fast...it evaporates fast...is normal..o have a problem..??

Dave! Thanks so much for this video. I literally had this pulled up in another tab ready to buy. I too will be running from a basement to upstairs so ill head over to the channel you suggested.
You're welcome Kevin. Laminar Flow has a larger unit but he is moving a lot of water thru a manifold and up one floor also
Dam Dave, that pump can run your system and a 7 person spa!!! Nice video bud.
LOL. It really moved some water on high. Thanx Diver

Unions are a must in aquariums of size. Currently running Jebao pumps. The controllers are what should be a standard.
Love your product reviews dave you always do a fantastic job ..... I have this pump and it’s AMAZING 😉
Thanx Psychedelic Babe. This thing really moves some water
Dave's Nano Tanks I have the 2000 and my tank is only 130 litre so it shifts mine very well 🤗
Found this on your vids. I have the DCP-5000. I also had to re-tune when I first installed it. I have it plumbed externally.
Interesting. Watch the heat when running external

When you Decreasing the power , can you measure the Voltage consumption? i mean the wattages are decreasing also?
Yes, the controller shows the watts being used👍
Is redirecting the water to the fuge for the "self cleaning" function??
No, that guy gets mad when you say that lol. This is #selfstirringfuge function. Thanx Austin

how do you clean it....how to open it to clean it???
I take apart the old one @ 6:40 and the new one is the same. Thanx for watching
Whats the difference between Sine Wave DCP and DCS? Which one is better? Thanks
The short answer is = DCP has bigger, better controller but both are great pumps.
hey dave!! whta is that piece u used for the small pump for connect pvc?

Really nice review and explained in a way that anyone can understand thanks David will tuning in to the next video
Thanx Fin. I like it simple too.
Any updates on this pump?
Still going strong a year later. I would buy it again

Good to hear..and definitely a good idea to upsize the return piping with that increased flow
hi what happens when you have a power cut, will it ramp back up to full watts 65 if its set at 40%
It will stay at the setting you had it at👍
wats the latest version of pumps from Jebao Jecod DCP or DCT OR DCS
I'm not sure. I thought this DCP was the latest.
slide the bottom off the pump & pull the back cover off , check the wire to make sure its not stripped My dcp10000 needed to be replaced
