Was treated years ago on my birthday to see Jasper live. Husband came and moaned for the first half. I stood up and said time for you to leave on your own. The 4 in front turned round and applauded me. Love Jasper ps left the hubby miserable man...
Just saw this today, 11.3.2023. Brought back some fantastic memories of true comedians from that era. To stand up for 1.5 hours, smoothly following one after another story/joke. There are not enough superlatives to describe Jasper. I just wish his shows were repeated, on one of my 80 plus Freeview channels, for me to do something, I've not done in a while and that's, laugh so much, it hurts. As there is nothing on nowadays that passes, for humour/comedy. I love Sara Milligan though. It's just, like what that German shepherd does.
40 years ago when I was 18 me and my then girlfriend used to babysit for the couple across the road. They had jaspers album "the stun". Every time we were there i would play it, sometimes more than once, and I never got bored with it. Looking back it must have driven my girlfriend insane.
I have listened to Jasper, since he first appeared on the comedy circuit, he has consistantly made me laugh out loud at annecdotes old and new, absolutely hilarious, i am still laughing, brilliant.
Used to watch Jasper with me late dad. Always used to make us laugh so much. Watching this brings back some memories. Wish dad was here to enjoy it with me today. Thanks Jasper for all the laughs!!!
My late dad loved Jasper, and I was privileged to stay up late as a kid and watch him on television, ive since seen him live twice, and was in stitches…..👍🇮🇲
Absolutely awesome, could you imagine the detectives 🕵♂ on TV, one show I would personally make time for. Thank you for sharing memories, have a wonderful day take care 🕊
I watched all his TV shows, but that was years ago. I really had forgotten just how funny he is, but this has reminded me. According to a friend of mine, who partnered Jasper during a charity event, then sat and had a few drinks with him, Jasper is also a top bloke.
I played a round of golf with Jasper at a Manchester Airport event. He was totally concentrated during the round on his golf, but still found time to give the rest of us helpful advice. After the golf he totally entertained us in the locker room and at the table at dinner. A true gentleman and the funniest and most generous comedian we ever encountered.
Absolutely loved Jasper's Christmas Cracker back in the mid-90s. I saw so many great acts that I would never otherwise have seen, all strung together with Jasper's wit (which back then was fresh!).
His joke about the pilot kicking the tyres of the plane reminded me of when we went overseas. My husband had a motor bike with an electric starter. When the plane was starting up, it sounded exactly like my husband's motor bike when he couldn't get it to start. My husband said "There is no way I'm gonna push start this fker".
@@kernowarty He took the mickey out of Geordies here too and has a group of them as friends. You know what they did when they heard the bit about them - they laughed because they are adults. If you can't laugh at yourself, you can't laugh.
Real live stand up had swearing but it was just censored on TV. Right back to Victorian times comedy had swearing, sex and profanity but the BBC was run by prudes who normalised censorship
Jasper has a very rare gift. Where what he doesn't say, is just as funny. Just a look, is enough to get me in stitches. Eric Morecambe could do that as well.
Still remember from back in the day Jasper's joke's about a Reliant Robin doing 70 mph & the Woolley cassette of " Go to our dad for your chop's" absolutely a classic Comedian loved his TV show & his music, rib's always ached as now from laughing so much, keep it up Jasper, a legend in your own lifetime
About forty years ago, a friend of mine relayed the Durex joke to me. I've never seen Jasper himself tell it, but I recall it well. I've only watched about nine minutes of this video, but i will watch the whole thing tonight. Btw, that joke nearly got me in trouble with a teacher when i quoted it in class.
And it's bullshit, by the way. In Australia, we call sticky tape, sticky tape. It may be branded as Durex, but we never, ever, ever refer to it as such. But, I'm letting truth get in the way of jasper's routine.
@@Klaudiusian Now I'm confused. The person who told me the joke was a notoriously unreliable source of information. But he had relayed the joke accurately, so I'm slightly disappointed that the one time he told the truth he was just repeating s lie!
i forgot how funny jasper was im 35 mins in and need a kip as im 61 have had 2 strokes have poor circulation had 8 steants in my heart a 3 way heart bypass and copd but i will be coming back to this video if i remember lol

These were the days when comedy was funny, with no swearing and snide remarks about other people. Brilliant.

I must be watching something else

This brought back childhood memories . One of my first memories of Xmas is getting a Jasper Carrot LP for Xmas aged 8 .
A great comedian. Very funny.
“Oi! Carrott! They’ve got no cowing Bovril!”

I grew up with Jasper , loved him . Still do :)
I grew up watching his TV show, Canned Carrott. Good times
As a child of the 70's, he's one of my early memories on the telly.
I wish he was still performing....as the current crop are crap....
Bloody HILARIOUS 😂 couldn't stop crying with laughter
I remember back in the day when I watched the detectives my favourite one was the police dog one 🤣
My favourite is the FA Cup Final episode where that escaped prisoner holds them hostage but then they all watch the game anyway.

Love jasper's act. I played golf with Rob in the 1980s he wasn't performing but a nice guy as was his manager x
