I was recently building a band playlist and happened to cross a Blur selection. I hadn't heard Charmless Man in years (remembering it was really catchy) so I played it. Great track but I then spied these Live performances.... What an amazing delivery ... Young and Lovely was savage too!! First time I ever heard it!! Live performance ... 10/10 Recorded..... 9/10 Rant over !
+Alexandre Silva I Think being on stage in front of a (about) million people like in this video is the most fuckin' rewarding thing in the world, I can see the tears becoming to appear in Damon's eyes. And I swear I saw a smile on Graham's face, it makes me want to cry :'D
I want this to be the theme song when we finally break quarantine and come out, squinting in the sun, and can imagine this many people being this close together again.
No matter what people think of damon albarn, there is no dobt how moved he is during this song. It must be amazing to see standing on stage with thousands enjoying the culmination of an idea and written down via a few words on a page. Always found this song addictive.
1:57 - Knowing how conflicted he has said he was feeling about the negative aspects of success around the time of "The Great Escape", Graham's unapologetic and genuine smile here just melts my heart.
Funny how this image around the end of the video with Graham smiling and dancing and Damon overwhelmed by emotions is the opposite of pretty much every Blur performances ever lol
This is absolutely beautiful. Graham's playing is great. Damon's voice is great. The backing band is great. The audience is great. I wish I could have been British in the '90's.
I was front row for Hyde park 2015 and when they did this song it was just incredible. The whole crowd was screaming the lyrics back and no one wanted it to end. The perfect end to the concert
ill turn 30 in a month.. eventhough my youth is officially gone.. i can look back and know that i grew up on bands like Blur and Radiohead,. and for that i am blessed. : )
What a very emotional performance of a song that has somehow permeated into the national psyche and is, for some unknown and unspoken reason, very personal to us all. What a show.
This is the next century Where the universal's free You can find it anywhere Yes, the future has been sold Every night we're gone And to karaoke songs How we like to sing a long Although the words are wrong It really, really, really could happen Yes, it really, really, really could happen When the days they seem to fall through you, well just let them go No one here is alone, satellites in every home Yes the universal's here, here for everyone Every paper that you read Says tomorrow is your lucky day Well, here's your lucky day It really, really, really could happen Yes, it really, really, really could happen When the days they seem to fall through you, well just let them go Well, it really, really, really could happen Yes, it really, really, really could happen When the days they seem to fall through you, well just let them go Just let them go
brilliant closing song; the testament to all their accomplishments! broke my heart to the bit in 'no distance left to run' documentary when damon was crying with this playing in the background
Was there right near the front, and can hand on heart say it was one of the most incredible things to witness, and feel blessed for having done so. I get goosebumps from just thinking about it. Blur will forever be my favourite band, and performances like this are exactly why
every year on my 4 minutes before my birthday i watch this as the clock strikes midnight cuz I don't have any friends and my family doesn't celebrate with me, that doesn't really bother me. this is my fave song and live performance it always makes me hopeful
I just realized why this song touches millions of people. It's because the chorus allows ourselves to feel HOPE. To be able to feel or believe that yes,"....it really really really could happen" is a priceless gift to give ourselves and each other.
I really don't know what to say. Every time I listen to this song I cry, 'cause it' s just beautiful and deep. It makes me think a lot, it has a special meaning to me and, right now I'm litterally crying and i just wanted you to know that my intention was to share with y'all how i am feeling but i just can't. This is a masterpiece and it must not be forgotten. I love this song and this band more than myself, that's it
This song has moved me deeply since 1995. It is powerful and although I'm not a crying kind of bloke, when Damon and the crowd are singing "Yes, it could really really really could happen..." I tear up. This is a life affirming song. Thank you Blur.
I get very emotional when listening to blur I was and still am a massive fan it was my youth and they are such an accessible bunch no pretentiousness and the older people get it makes me feel sad but grateful I knew who blur were
Usually...I don't like a concert on video....but for the first time....this is absolutely the greatest concert video that I ever saw. I can feel the soul of the concert from this video! ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!
I don't comment that often, but that is one of the greatest live performances ever to be uploaded on TH-cam.
Justin Gerber I agree
I agree :-) I was lucky enough to be there and at the stage front. Fucking awesome
Agreed
Du hast recht!
I was recently building a band playlist and happened to cross a Blur selection. I hadn't heard Charmless Man in years (remembering it was really catchy) so I played it. Great track but I then spied these Live performances....

+Alexandre Silva I always dreaming to have a life like damon albarn haha
samul andrian I dont want his life. I just want those fans.
Right at the end as Damon looks out to the crowd he surely must be thinking, why would we ever want to give this up
He cried
You have no idea. He is lost. And finally gets adoration is destroyed him
I want this to be the theme song when we finally break quarantine and come out, squinting in the sun, and can imagine this many people being this close together again.
Ikr.. i'm crying just to think about it. Freedom?
It really could happen.
Sweetest of ideas!
Noone here is alone.
Yes it really really really could happen.
No matter what people think of damon albarn, there is no dobt how moved he is during this song. It must be amazing to see standing on stage with thousands enjoying the culmination of an idea and written down via a few words on a page. Always found this song addictive.
but what do people think of him? I've not really followed their lives.
Well do we know what people think of him
@@beans5673 its a mystery, no one is either opinionated or unopinionated on him apparently.
This song is about 2022 and the post pandemic New World Order where they know everything and see all we do.
@@misterasterisco5217 Oh to be stupid enough to believe you are enlightened.
every time Damon questions the future of Blur, he just needs to watch this and know it's so worth it

01:58 Mr. Graham Coxon - what a lovely smile!!!
His genuine smile made me really happy!
Not a song, but an Anthem.
This is why Blur is one of my favourite bands of all time. I would do anything to be there
My God, this is the final celebration. The epitaph of an entire era. A generation passing over. Very touching.
Britain has been making the best music for the last 60 years. -A Canadian.
I love how at the end Damon just stands there and listens to thousands of people sing his lyrics back to him. So inspiring and moving. Epic song.
Oh my god my tears... i came here from the corona era.. seeing this people together chanting in a crowd is like a dream to us right now
damon having an existential crisis while graham has the time of his life
Out of the two, I'm damon 🤣🤦♀️
its like their country house top of the pops performance but with the roles switched

in what way has this song "permeated into the national psyche"? - it's barely known outside the Blur fan base
the british gas advert...
best blur song hands down....
Absolutely.
The universal is an absolute masterpiece. Brilliant performance.
Shivers when he starts getting really pumped at 2:06 and the crowd responds to another level.
That’s frontmanship btw. He led them there.
damon is about to cry yes
1:57 a pure smile...aww
This is glorious! I can`t stop watching it over and over again
It's amazing isn't it?

Likewise perfection
It is a anthem when that horn section goes into that crescendo I start crying I haven't heard anything so beautiful

Great Band, Great Song, Awesome Crowd....not much more to say.
Now that's a man who hasn't lost a single shred of passion for what he does.
At 0:57 for a second he sounded like his younger self, or like he does in the original recording of the song, wigged me right out
My, how the Brits love their bands! This is spellbinding.
Bewitched 😊
brilliant closing song; the testament to all their accomplishments!
broke my heart to the bit in 'no distance left to run' documentary when damon was crying with this playing in the background
+Ardiana x - That was so incredibly moving, but at least he was crying because he was so happy.
Joan Wilcox well, that i'm not sure... the way he was crying sends me a different signal, to be honest, but i guess we'll never know!
The reason I guess that is because it was their reunion gig and he was happy Graham was back. Just guessing.
+Ardiana x think about if it was you in that situation, then you'll understand, he just wanted his old friends back, and his dream came true
La mejor canción para la puta eternidad! "Y cuando los días te caigan encima, solo dejalos ir"
fuck, this song is TIMELESS to me. It never ever gets old.
Was there right near the front, and can hand on heart say it was one of the most incredible things to witness, and feel blessed for having done so. I get goosebumps from just thinking about it.
Blur will forever be my favourite band, and performances like this are exactly why
1:17 it makes me happy when in live performances they go for the high note
2:30 - The security guard is supposed to be watching the audience, but he just can't help watching Blur.
the best and the worst job
I Almost cried watching that end ;-; So Beautiful...
Song of a lifetime...
I'm clear remember 1995. I was 18 years old boy, fool of hopes and so naive. And I liked to listen to this great song. Tnx for my remembrances.
Saw Blur at Wembley a couple of weeks ago, but this performance of the Universal still chokes me up a bit.
Imagine having the talent to write a song like this, then perform it like that. WOW
I really Dont know what to say................I was there that night. possibly one of the greatest concerts of my life.
This is one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen x
every year on my 4 minutes before my birthday i watch this as the clock strikes midnight cuz I don't have any friends and my family doesn't celebrate with me, that doesn't really bother me. this is my fave song and live performance it always makes me hopeful
It's funny that the backing singers are completely overwhelmed by the audience singing.
i couldn't stop to listening blur and I'm grateful for there still is a band like this nowadays
There are loads
This is and will be the most significant song played in the history of British Music.
jesus, im crying...live long blur
One of the greatest live show ever
I was there, I was 7 years old. I wasn’t close to the front, but just being there was the experience of a lifetime. it was beautiful
"I really dont know what to say.." just perfect.. bring back the 90s..
3:21 This guy looks just like Damon Albarn !
When a song, and a crowd, sends a man to tears.
GREATESTS HITS 90'S WONDERFULL
teared up watching this, such a powerful performance, I love Blur so fucking much
I just realized why this song touches millions of people. It's because the chorus allows ourselves to
feel HOPE. To be able to feel or believe that yes,"....it really really really could happen" is a priceless gift to give ourselves and each other.
This is honestly so true, you verbalized it perfectly
Best live performance of any song ever
Bring back the 90's 😢

I guess you're Italian judging by your name so let me say this...
Come biasimarti? È bellissima
Absolutely right. It is a real masterpiece.
This song has moved me deeply since 1995. It is powerful and although I'm not a crying kind of bloke, when Damon and the crowd are singing "Yes, it could really really really could happen..."
I tear up. This is a life affirming song. Thank you Blur.
This is not a song, is more than that. You can feel you'r in heaven for a second through the chorus.
la cara de damon al final sabiendo qué ese momento era único y no se volverá a repetir
I've loved this tune since 96 and have never seen this performance before. It's outstanding. The lads are gods. What a performance!
Such a unique tune. Came from nowhere and is an anthem.
Should be an anthem for the British Empire…
Masterpiece!
This song is the unofficial hymn of Brit-pop. Blur coming back from hiatus was worth it just for this performance;
estoy llorando porque amo la música y el poder que tiene esta presentación, la canción y la banda. te amo blur
I love this era when britpop n alternative rock pumping the world.... the music is so goodd
This is one of my favourite blur songs..it's beautiful..
Makes me so happy and deeply sad at the same time.
The old world that never come back 💔

The crowd was amazing!!

it will forever be my favourite song. i’m crying it’s so amazing.
I could watch and listen this forever until I die.
When the audience sang the chorus in unison,
I shiver.
Anyone in 2020 still enjoying this masterpiece?
