Same here!!😅 this year is my 10th year natural and it’s been a fun and beautiful process. I’ve grown my hair out, dye it, cut it intentionally and accidentally (thanks to faux loc take-downs 🙄) and have grown it all back. Now that I’m a mom, I don’t have the time to make my wash days a wine/Netflix day, so I need a faster process. My baby won’t even let me blow dry in peace 😂😂
OMGOSH, this is my SECOND stint as a natural. I’ve been looking at a Brazilian blowout or this. My sister actually floated this idea because she’s tired of hers too. Only thing for me though is any type of chemical takes my hair out!
I made 10 years, this past December. I’ve had about 7 different setbacks in that time but I’m almost at waist length. The thing is though, when it comes to my hair, I’m miserable and the thought of styling & detangling it makes me sad. I realize that I have a hatred for my hair due to the effort it requires. I too am ready to texlax!
Wowzers! I never knew how relatable this video would be. So many of us are going through hair maintenance struggles. I think you should do what’s best for you. As long as your hair is healthy 😉 also it’s been 5 months since I texturized my hair and it’s still looks good.
@@adebeautybox Thank you so much for understanding. I’ve been somewhat struggling with taking the leap, because it feels like some sort of natural hair betrayal but f that! I want to be happy with my hair & not feel like it’s my least favorite chore.
People always say that you should love your hair but I do not love my 4c hair. It is difficult to maintain, and that is the reality. I cannot just wash and slap a conditioner, brush right thorough and leave like type 3 hair. People like to behave as if the effort it takes to maintain type 1 hair is the same as type 4 c hair, and it's not. That is why we rock wigs with looser textures, due to ease of maintenance
Love your video❤ I think the reason it turned out more of a relaxer than texturizer is because you applied it to the roots first and other vids I’ve seen they always do the roots last because they process or straighten the fastest because of heat from your scalp. And also you didn’t apply as much to the ends which is why they still have a good curl, but overall if it’s more manageable for you 👏🏽it looks great!!

I applaud the naturally gifted braiders and stylists...but thats not my calling. Having 5 natural heads to work with is EXHAUSTING. If we dont opt for locs then this might be the way i have to go.

I think with a texturizer you are trying to loosen the curl pattern . A texturizer has the same chemicals as a perm. I think it turned out like a perm for two reasons. 1. You applied just like a perm, all over. 2. The time you let it stay on. 3. Combing through. To make it manageable it should not be on your whole head. Like for instance I’m natural now. I cut my hair short and started using curly hair products. I’m about to use perm, but only to loosen the pattern on my edges and on my frizz areas only. It will only remain for maybe 5-7 minutes because I don’t want it straightened. Just more manageable. My hair is very thick. I would classify it as 4C. Also one side of my hair in the front is thick than the other. I’ve also seen texturizer like sparingly on hair throughout. So, for instance, if you grabbed a small grouped strands and lightly put the perm on just a small group downwards. Same for the rest.
thank you for this tutorial. can you do another step by step one because I'm considering doing it at home..and I've never applied a chemical like this in my hair before on my own

It does look more manageable...and it does kinda remind me of a relaxer on virgin hair, the only difference is it doesn't go over all the hair including the ends...but it looks good
It reminds u of a relaxer 😂. That's because it IS a relaxer. They are the same. Same chemical.. does the same thing. The name only differs due to how the company wants to market the product. Results (straight..bone straight..loose curly.. ) has everything to do with how its applied, smoothed, and how long its left on. Meaning if u smooth it n straight then BOOM yr hair will be straight.. if u just gently loosen the coil then you'll have the texturized look if loose curls or a wave. ❤❤hope this helps someone. P.S. Relaxers were never meant to get hair BONE STRAIGHT but to RELAX the coils/curls. (It's so sad the ppl r learning from folk that don't know themselves. Nice to find your channel and happy holidays. I decided to do a keratin treatment. I still consider myself 'natural' since it didn't get rid of my coils, just made them a little less tight and my cuticles more soft/smooth. I have been wearing my same braidout/bantuknot-out styles, just so much quicker to do. I used Answr keratin treatment and it didn't even burn my scalp any. Did you consider an at home keratin vs the texture release? Did you want a looser coil than you can get with the non-formaldehyde keratin products?
I did a little research on Keratin treatment. I wanted my roots in the front to be straight and lay better with my sewin leave out. Thanks so much for stopping by and Happy Holidays.
