Can a Comb binding machine use 4:1 coils?

- In my search for a cheaper alternative to a coil binding machine I decided to try a regular coil in comb punched paper!

When you punch the holes, you could try punching them a 2nd time but move the paper up (like 1 or 2 mm) to make the holes slightly wider to fit the coils. 🤔
Thank you for sharing this. I got a comb binding machine used off of marketplace a few years ago. I was looking at getting a coil binding machine… but then I thought I could get the spiral coils and just use that instead of the combs! I like to open the book up and flip the book open to that one page! I’m going to give it a whirl! Thanks.

The comb has same pitch to 2:1 punch holes, so you can use those too if I am not mistaken.
It depends on the comb and if it's 21 or 19 holes but in general yes 😊

It worked okay! Not perfect by any means but usable.

You can twist them by hand! It's really easy to go 😊

It held up okay! It doesn't turn as great as coil the right size but I still used the book okay. I hope that helps!
