- We have the C10 back in the shop after barely making it home. We changed the converter in EP 1 and after about 350 miles it started slipping, however every time you turned off the truck and restarted it the transmission worked perfect...for about a mile. We show you how to change out the filter and fluid as well as change the pan gasket.

I LOVE YOUR FAMILY VIDEO . THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS YOU AND YOURS! BACK IN THE OLD DAYS WE USED common sewing thread to tie the gasket to the pan on just about everything I am 83 years old,I needed a little refresher course,so thanks again! i noticed a little mcguiver stuff going on there ,all in all fantastic!! I HAVE NO CUSS DAYS< BUT DOES"NT ALWAYS WORK OUT THAT WAY ! HAHAHA
Thank you! 🇺🇸
Thank you for posting. I am having the same problem with my 700R pan removal/install on my 93 S10. There is one bolt that is extremely difficult to remove/install as it hits the trans mount. Rather than trim the trans pan, I am thinking of trimming the X-member lip in order to make life easier.
could be worse on your back crawling .. I guess . anyways that's what I'm about to do so thanks for teaching me how this is done dad.
an mom
LOL
Shouldn't you run the trans through the gears before checking the fluid at normal operating temperature? Or is that only when you drain torque converter as well.?
I’m doing the same thing to my 83 c10. Did you have to completely remove the transmission mount? I’m having problems getting the pan out because of the mount
Yes you do. I am not a fan of that crossmember at all as I have stated in multiple videos… I think the 700R4 was an afterthought to that chassis.
Yeah Lucas is good stuff
Great video. I’m about to upgrade my transmission pan and also change the fluid in my 700r4. I’m going to install a sensor for my gauge, I have not looked to see myself yet, just curios which side of the pan would you recommend that I install the sensor?
Look inside the trans, I would install it on the side with more room.
@@FamilysGarage I am, I just haven’t gotten around to do that yet?
Changing clogged filter but using fluid that was not filtered.....
