Bread is generally fine past the expiration date. My cousin used to own a business that delivered bread and she'd give us bread that was expired. Its fine as long as you store it properly away from the sun unless its made in store(it goes bad quicker).

If you have a nice Dollar Tree or Dollar store by your house you can find so many nice items. The DT by me sells Brownberry bread, Thomas's English muffins and bagels when the grocery stores want $3.99! Everything is fresh too, it's just overstock from the big stores.
I’m impressed that you can make a four course meal with dollar store items. I must say the shepherd’s pie is a bit yucky looking. The tuna sandwich had too much mayonnaise in it. Overall it’s a really great way to show people how to cook a meal for a family on a tight budget.

Not really, I've been in tough times and had to survive cooking cheap meals and shopping at dollar stores. It isn't the best quality, but it does the job with some proper cooking and seasoning.
They have a lot of good frozen foods too. Mixed veggies, onion and peppers, asparagus, ect. And they have eggs in the refrigerator section if you like eggs in your fried rice.
