First time playing The Walking Dead Telltale
The Walking Dead is a fantastic show lead by Rick Grimes. Now it's time for Badd Medicine to dive into The Walking Dead games. The zombie apocalypse in the state of Georgia. Most of the characters are original to the game, which centers on convicted criminal Lee Everett who becomes a protective figure to a young girl, Clementine, and must help her find her parents.

Clem’s an old soul. Even before she saw all the stuff she’s seen, she was a smart and observant kid (hiding in her treehouse, using her walkie-talkie, bringing Lee the hammer, etc.)
I don't really think she's an old soul. Just very smart kid for her age. Most kids wouldn't have gotten that far. Could have plenty to do with how she's was raised but sometimes that how some kids are born. @@skyofthelivingdead

2:52:50 there is a special episode this season called 400 days that you should still play. Some people skip it that's why I bring it up
Fun fact btw there are 5 different outcomes to the end of the episode, you can go with everyone like you guys did (which is rare so congrats) or each one of those characters can make their own decisions on whether or not to come with you (Christa/Omid won’t go with you if you hide the bite, Kenny won’t go if you didn’t side with him on enough major decisions throughout the series, Ben will go if you tell him to) or alternatively you can go all by yourself which is a cool aspect

I've always felt bad for Ben. It's easy to forget that he is a kid. And he clearly felt like shit for what happened to Duck and Katjaa. He obviously didn't intend for anyone to get hurt.
Same, always felt people are way too harsh on him and you can tell Telltale wanted people to hate him. Yes, he's incompetent but he's also still just a kid and carrying a ton of survivor's guilt. Was relieved when Oak pulled him up.
@@SailorMars768 Me too, that was my favorite thing Oak has done this whole playthrough. Most people would drop Ben just for edgy appeal. Oak made great choices this episode. I agree though, I feel like it's so easy to forget he's a kid because of how young Clementine is in comparison, but he's still a high schooler, and I'm sure many of us did dumb stuff in high school, mistakes are even more drastic in a zombie apocalypse.

@@greedythegoon8607 I always felt like his death was missing something in episode 4 and it's way better in episode 5 when he actually talks back to Kenny and just before we get a character development for season 2 he dies he could have been a great season 2 character
Everyone's reaction to Oak saying No to Clementine was hilarious but he's right, she would sympathise with Ben claiming "he's nice, he is my friend, we don't leave friends behind", even though Ben clearly did not feel the same about her since he left her to die and Chuck had to save her thus sacrificing his life. Shoulda stayed on business and dropped Ben though.
Ben did feel the same for Clem, but Ben's just not really built for the apocalyptic life. He's friends with her, but he's also a coward. Regardless I'm glad they saved Ben. Episode 5 is better with all of the characters
It’s not even that Ben didn’t care for her, he’s just flighty. When your survival instincts (fight/flight/fawn/freeze) kick in, nothing else matters but self-preservation and its different for everyone. It’s just the body’s natural reaction to a threat and morals don’t really apply in that moment, as much as it sucks to hear that.

Ah damn, I was hoping you'd let Kenny take out the kid, as horrible as that sounds lol.
I feel like the purpose of it being there is for Kenny to get some closure. If you tell
him to do it you get to understand a bit more of what he's thinking as well.
Lee: "You can do it."
Kenny: "I couldn't even help my own boy."
Lee: "That was your own flesh and blood, no father could've done that. But you can
help this boy. Do what's right for him, send him on his way"
Game then states "You helped Kenny." and he goes ahead with it.
I agree I beleive allowing him to do it also allows Kenny to grow beyond the moment with Duck and Katya.
Wow somehow I've never seen this or thought about it in this way. Thanks, that explains why so many people didn't kill the boy according to the stats.
If I hadn't read this comment, I probably never would have just done it in a new playthrough I'm doing right now, and it was a beautiful scene of someone trying to help someone he cares about.
actually, in the game mechanics, it improves your relationship with kenny if you make lee shoot the boy. also, considering that it's possible that it hasn't even been a day since kenny lost duck, it seems kinda cruel

In my first playthrough, I respected his choice of suicide and it haunted me so much I replayed the episode right after just to save him. I'm so sorry Ben. 😭

1:15 not a rumor, Chandler Riggs (Carl) got fucked over big time by the AMC production staff. He was told he was going to be kept on the show; even bought a house near the filming locations and transferred colleges to stay on the show. Carl was killed off immediately after.
Most people believe it was a budgetary move by AMC, as Chandler had just turned 18 at the time, so child actor laws and wages didn’t apply to him anymore.
In an attempt to not see the "next time on the walking dead" preview, you guys missed another "community choices" thing on the next screen. On top of that, the game was released and marketed with you seeing them in mind so it's not *spoilers* per se. Don't lose the game's content just to "protect" the playthrough, guys.

Glad you guys get to play each episode a week apart, as it was painful for those of us that originally played it when it was released back in 2012 to wait a agonizing TWO months between each episode. (The fifth episode was a less grueling One month wait)

In regards to ben: we saw that the motor inn was constantly being hounded by the bandits, and lee even said something along the lines of "luckily the bandits haven't attacked for weeks", which means they stopped cause of the supplies they were getting. It is not Ben's fault that they attacked, he delayed them from doing so. Plus you have the fact that when lee was doing his investigating he left the gate open, allowing the bandits to walk in. You also have the fact that the bandits were willing to negotiate a new arrangement and then Lilly shot them with her rifle. So no Ben is not at fault for what happen to Katja and Duck

Playing through these games with ". . ." answers only and trying to get through combat without acting is one of the more unique ways to experience them.
Certain sequences become pretty interesting with complete inaction! There's definitely a lot of replayability!
i’ve watched this game multiple times and played through it myself twice, and i still have this awful sense of dread at the end of this episode, just like when i played the first time! it really holds up against the test of time. so glad you guys are having fun!

at 24:00 . i thought the same thing my first playthrough,thought the boot option would be brutal. but on my second go around i chose the boot and its actually the most peaceful. Lee gently puts his foot on his temple and slowly crushes it.
I really do recommend playing some other Telltale games, even with them being harder to buy, with like all of them not available to buy. I recommend playing the Batmat games and Wolf Among Us. The Batman games tell their own story and i think are great, and Wolf Among Us, takes the tales of fairytales and does it's own kind of story, kind of. Its based off a comic book series and there is a planned season 2 sometime in the future
I hope you guys do the rest of the games.They are all good.

The three main writers for this season didn't work on the future seasons and its obvious but i hope you guys do the other seasons and spin offs.

It's subtle and I always missed it for whatever reason for the last 10+ years playing this game, but you lose the tool you get from the train during the confrontation with Molly after she disarms you, and due to the following conversation, you never get the chance to grab it before being forced into the sewers.
Lee and clementine’s music is soooo good. I forget how good it is.
Guys, the previews for the next episode are not spoilers. If I recall, the show does the same thing. No reason to skip it.

Yes!!!! Ive been waiting for you guys to reach here, i stopped right here in my playthrough back in 2015. But family issues drove me away from games for a sec, but never went back to this game. So seeing these group of gentlemen playing this makes my year!!! I hope you guys will love the game and to what comes after!!

Maybe it’s because I had actual responsibilities or because girls tend to mature faster mentally, but I wasn’t as stupid as him at 17-18.
The infantilizing of older teenagers like they’re 5 years old is so strange to me. It just creates useless adults later on.

Love this series! Hope you guys get the chance to check out another great game afterwards called Life is Strange. I don't know if its your style but I think the story is really interesting and it takes you on a emotional rollercoaster.
