If someone does put music in multi-player it will either distract them, give them a cozy experience, or turn them into a boss battle, either way I would suggest it being so as an option, if you want the music just turn it on, if you want immersion turn it off, giving them this control will make them happy.

The only truly game-breaking thing about this game was sending someone a message full of alt-codes from the Gamespy client on your computer. Instantly crashed their PS2. I wish DICE would release a map pack for the current gen games with these maps. What I wouldn't pay to visit BackStab and SpecialOp again...

I’m a tad late (by a decade) but I remember being on the Asian map (can’t remember the name) and getting my first tank kill using C4 on the bridge. It felt amazing. Also the first time I sniped a helicopter pilot was bliss. This game was fantastic!
Oh shit I remember that clan tbh. I was 5-star biawarking if anyone remembers that somehow lol. Not sure if anyone remembers me ripping into people on CTF bridge too far, that was my gamemode/map...
I originally played this on the ps2, then upgraded to pc masterrace. But i feel like this version of bf2 was better than the pc version. Stuffing as much c4 as you possibly could inside/under one of the civilian vehicles and waiting for someone to walk past it was the best.

I got TWO navy crosses on Bridge Too Far capture the flag (30 kills without dying using only kit weapons) I remember starting to get addicted and looking at that medal and laughing because I thought it would be impossible. FUCK I LOVED THIS GAME. I still don't understand why they've never added these maps to the new engines. Backstab and Deadlypass would be awesome for the old school players, but a destructible missilecrisis map would be the fucking tits good lord
This game looks really good actually, back then I was into Socom so much I never tried this, I don’t even think I knew it existed or I thought it was PC only. Obviously this is hitscan, no bullet ballistics yet (that’s what it looks like anyway, aiming directly at a helicopter and hitting it). I wish they’d remaster this for PS4.
I remember planting C4 on the front of the jeeps and driving them into unsuspecting tanks on Bridge Too Far, or taking the Little bird on the map Hidden and flying into the underground submarine pen to drop someone off for the flag capture. Many hours and memories with this game!
That would be called Jeep Stuff in the BFF community. Also I'm making a game to capture the same feeling I had with this game, it's like the saying "if you're going to critic a movie, make another movie", basically saying I'm going to critic on how I feel about this game by making a game that feels the same. But Wait! There's More! The game I'm making is a combination of Skyrim's world size maps (there will be small ones too) and stuff like it, basically a level is a whole segment of how you did in the pass level, saying if you eliminate this officer in the campaign then the next level you won't have him as a threat, but if you don't you'll have to deal with him and his platoon, it's a choose your own adventure like game, and endings will be different depending on how you played like in Undertale, but mostly like CoD, there's a game that one of the main NPCs narrates the story, and he tells your story based on what you do, like executing prisoners or not letting your own army burn people alive by giving them a quick death instead of suffering from fire. It will also be combined with Battlefield (mostly this one), and the Toy Army Men Genre. It's basically if this game had a baby with the Army Men series, so imagine this game, but with small toy soldiers, and in depth lore. And you'll love the multi-player. The majority of vehicles in my game are from this game here, to give a nod to this game because it's that delicious.
I miss this game. It was really good, and I was expecting it to be a stripped down counterpart to the PC version, but it's a completely different experience that's kinda like Bad Company. I was addicted to both this and the PC version for a while.
I loved to play this game after school, was also my first experience in online fps games. The setupping of ps2 to the internet itself was so exciting back then, I had a modem that i first time put into ps2 without any prior knowledge of doing sort of things, and when it actually worked and i got connected online with other players world wide - that really blew my mind as a kid!!

Most ppl don’t even consider these games when they talk about battlefield. This is where it all began for me. Not on Xbox but on Play station. When the days was rugged and glory was gotten out the mud. This was way before online gaming became a thing and monetized. Who knew conquest would be a classic way before it’s time.

Haha this game was epic, I remember trolling a guy by planting c4 on his heli when he flew off i blew him up. He then spammed me friend request and then spammed me messages and it overloaded my ps2 and it turned off haha i was laughing this guy was pissed off.
lmao i used to pilot helis in backstap at each lvl start, and when it was full, id fly over the second one and jump out lmao, I would laugh for hours, and I remember being taught all glitches like i was in training, I killed like 800 ppl a game, God i miss this game

Loved this game on my ps2, i was a beta tester for Sony in the UK so i got all the modem, headset and games etc. for free (Socom anyone?) but this, as far as multiplayer goes was the dogs bollocks! ah, fond memories of packing a jeep full of sticky C4 and pelting towards a group of enemies, just to jump out and let it roll towards them...BOOM! I loved this game, I remember I use to plant c4 or bomb's onto a helicopter to troll then blown them up when teammates took them. I got my karma thou, one day I did it to some guy and he spammed me with friend request. At the time I was like 12 so I didnt think much of it, i added him and he was able to spam my inbox to the point it overloaded my ps2 and it shutdown
I use to be so good at this game that I could shoot down the enemy choppers with tanks before they took off and got to the town. The US kinda did have a the advantage at the start.

There's still a way to play this game online through openspy and xlink Kai you can still play with people all around the World so it's still possible to play this game online you just have to use xlink Kai look up videos on how to use xlink Kai on ps2
Had proximity chat and clan games and rankings way back then. No party chat so you heard everyones chat. There was a lot of anarchy but boy was it fun. Nothing like killing somebody while yelling at them.. Nothing. Clans were known. DCR or RAW would come in and you knew who they were.
This game had the best ranking IMO. The system that actually reflected your active skill level. When you saw an FGO in there, you knew they were gonna carry your team. Also first game I remember staying up til 4am playing when I was 11 praying my parents didn't find out lol
Or ditching school. I remember days when I would play whole night, turn of computer, pretend to be asleep at 7am when my parent left for work (I would usually walk to school at 8am), play whole morning, thru midday, till 3PM, when my parent would come home from work. Turn of computer. At that time I was also suppose to come back from school. Then start begging my mum to play a little. Would end up playing whole afternoon. Maybe take 2 hour break inbetween to please my mum. Play till 9PM, when I would have to go to bed, sleep for 2 hours, wait for parents to go to sleep at around 11pm, then continue the next day. :DDD oh lol
hmm the memories.. i played this game a lot.. especially during vacations when being home alone.. such a good game.. too bad at the end servers went empty.. found the game back today after losing it for a while, i might start playing the campaign again i think

This game was amazing. So many hours spent on it. Using the vehicles to get around the map was so new. Also the maps were huge for a PS2 game.

Is that feeling when you realize that 16 year old BF game is 10x better than that GARBAGE BF 2042 that just came out! The Nest was my fav map to play, I rly miss this game ALOT! BF 1942 on PC and this game, what got me hooked on franchise, up until now when 2042 came out. RIP BF you'll never be the same!

I loved this game, I remember I use to plant c4 or bomb's onto a helicopter to troll then blown them up when teammates took them. I got my karma thou, one day I did it to some guy and he spammed me with friend request. At the time I was like 12 so I didnt think much of it, i added him and he was able to spam my inbox to the point it overloaded my ps2 and it shutdown

I use to be so good at this game that I could shoot down the enemy choppers with tanks before they took off and got to the town.
The US kinda did have a the advantage at the start.

There's still a way to play this game online through openspy and xlink Kai you can still play with people all around the World so it's still possible to play this game online you just have to use xlink Kai look up videos on how to use xlink Kai on ps2

how the hell did we not know about this before the ps3 first came out?
Had proximity chat and clan games and rankings way back then. No party chat so you heard everyones chat. There was a lot of anarchy but boy was it fun. Nothing like killing somebody while yelling at them.. Nothing. Clans were known. DCR or RAW would come in and you knew who they were.

This game had the best ranking IMO. The system that actually reflected your active skill level. When you saw an FGO in there, you knew they were gonna carry your team. Also first game I remember staying up til 4am playing when I was 11 praying my parents didn't find out lol
Or ditching school. I remember days when I would play whole night, turn of computer, pretend to be asleep at 7am when my parent left for work (I would usually walk to school at 8am), play whole morning, thru midday, till 3PM, when my parent would come home from work. Turn of computer. At that time I was also suppose to come back from school. Then start begging my mum to play a little. Would end up playing whole afternoon. Maybe take 2 hour break inbetween to please my mum. Play till 9PM, when I would have to go to bed, sleep for 2 hours, wait for parents to go to sleep at around 11pm, then continue the next day. :DDD oh lol

hmm the memories.. i played this game a lot.. especially during vacations when being home alone.. such a good game.. too bad at the end servers went empty.. found the game back today after losing it for a while, i might start playing the campaign again i think
