Kids now a days wouldn’t know how to play this game. No BS weapon upgrade, dumb dances or any super HD. Games now a days worry too much about graphics and achievements and other things. This was fun to just jump in and play. Everyone equal, only skill.
I remember watching dudes fv#*ing backflip the Apache. Over and over. AODgunmetal. Angels of death. Dude was on another level. I ran 120mm and support. Those were the best days of gaming until battlegrounds

As far as i remenber no... The official server closed years ago however i belive the was costune dnas servers that allowed you to play it but i dont know if they are still active.... There is a facebook group that still plays ps2 online and there is also a website but cant remenber the name
+Mediawatcher well... i can tell youre new to the online console generation. xbox and ps2 both had online. xbox launched XBL in 2003. and ps2 in 2001 (japan) i believe ps2 slims launched online in 2003 worldwide. you could also carry your xbox original account to x360. and over to XB1. not sure about ps2
mm just plug in your ethernet cable on your ps2, creare a network configuration(theres the option to make one when you try multiplayer), and thats it, but you need to create an account for bf2, google bf2 account creation there an ign link, and it has the tutorial

You dont need xlink kai for this game just ethernet xlink only for games that online servers shut down i played this game in 2015 alot ppl were still playing

leonel videla 1 si es battlefield 2 pero no el original es el bf2 spin off modern combat que solo salio para xbox ps2 y 360, la partida si es online y si la ps2 no tiene wifi y nunca tubo por eso se tenia que conectar via ethernet para jugar y si tenias la ps2 fat necesitavas el network adapter original...actualmente creo todos los server cerraron oero aun se pueden jugar alginos via xlink kai y dnas mosificadas saludos
Man, this game was awful. Still, I suffered through it for pretty much a year. And then I got Call of Duty 3 (on PS2...) which looked, played, and tasted better than this junk. That said, I wish they'd bring Punkbuster back on the modern Battlefields.
