As a Canadian I would tend to agree that America needs to sort this out, but with a child who needs insulin I would do anything so she wouldn’t need to ration. I would go to another country to get affordable meds. Besides the Americans are paying out of pocket at the Canadian pharmacy where as, most Canadians are getting their insulin (or other meds) covered by pharmacare. Only real concern is if the med supply runs out due to non-Canadians buying up all the meds.
Having to spend most of your short adult life in DKA every day is just horrible just because you can’t get access to meds to keep you alive . America should be ashamed of itself
In the United Kingdom, we have the national health service NHS for short and out of our pay every month money goes to the NHS,everyone in the United Kingdom pays towards this. So in essence, the national health service is free to everyone at the point of use. This means if you pay £100 towards insulin for example you’re covered if you pay £10 towards insulin you’re covered it doesn’t matter the amount you pay in tax you’ll still get exactly what you need because it’s free at the point of use because everybody in the United Kingdom pays for it so these are cannot afford it get what they need fact .I have more insulin in my fridge and I know what to do with, and if I should lose it all tomorrow, I can simply go back to the hospital and get another load for free insulin again simply because other peoples pay taxes for it if not my own taxes somebody else’s taxes will pay for it,so everyone is covered in the Uk fact. It’s not even an issue because we have the national health service here in the United Kingdom, it doesn’t matter if you earn £10 an hour as a road sweeper or if you’re a university professor everyone contributes a small amount towards the NHS, which means regardless of the cost you are covered and if you don’t earn anything and you’re not paying taxes you still get what you need because it’s covered by other peoples taxes so whether you’re in work or out of work earning money or not you will still get the healthcare you need regardless of the cost because it’s paid for every British citizen so everyone is covered in the United Kingdom. Thanks for our national health service which is free at the point of use use. However it’s devastating to see that Americans are dying because of something like diabetes. It’s shocking. So basically the whole country pays taxes here in the UK so these are cannot afford it they are covered and these that can afford it are also covered. So in essence, the NHS covers everyone it’s free. I believe it’s the same in Canada as well, but in America you have a serious issue and sadly there are going to be more people dying and that is just disgusting. Absolutely an abomination by anybody standard America might be a great country in many aspects, but when it comes to healthcare it’s a third world structure in America, if you’re wealthy you’re fine if you don’t have cash issues you’re good but if you’re an ordinary person with little or no income you’re screwed in the United States health wise so very sad and wrong thank God I live in the United Kingdom. If I was in America, I will probably be dead! So basically to sum it up regardless of your financial status. If you need medication is in the United Kingdom you get them regardless of whether you’re working or not it’s completely free and you will get what you need fact sad to see that this is not the case in the United States.😮😮😮😮
Me personally I could not afford an EpiPen for two years the only one I received was it expired one from a doctors office not to mention that several years ago I became ill with an intestinal infection the anabiotic I needed was $600 per dose or I should say per cycle I needed to cycles the hospital would not admit me it was the only way that the insurance would pay for it but yet I could not get anybody to admit me to the hospital I was so sick I was in pain and vomiting all the timeI lost so much weight finally after around 3 to 4 weeks after I have been diagnosed I got to the point that I was so sick I begged him pleaded with my friends and their families eventually I was able to get one cycle dose of medication.
Another thing that really makes me sad I am legally blind my glasses cost around $700 a pair my vision radically changed I finally was able to get the state to purchase a new pair of glasses for me but the problem is my redness or damaged and I have to wear sunglasses most of the time they would only purchase me one pair of glasses they then had a problem because my prescription is so strong it literally could not fit in the glasses and had it to be made out of a special material that’s what makes him so expensive they came back and said they would find my glasses but not sunglasses some minor so old that they give me headachesAnd do not allow me to use my full version that I do have I want to pair of sunglasses but none of them are covered and it’ll be a while before I have a chance to save up that kind of money five to $700 is a lot for somebody who doesn’t have any kind of savings

I'm the guy from the video with the missing teeth. I've never done meth or any other drug like that a day in my life. I've never even puffed a cigarette! This is all damage from Gastroparesis causing me to throw up. Not everyone in a trailer in TN is on meth...

Inshulin.
moonlitdream1 Drives me crazy
I want to say I noticed the food in his house was nothing but carbs regular sugar if I drink a regular soda like he had in his fridge my sugar would be 400 I’m really really shocked that he has the food that he does being a type one he shouldn’t be anywhere near regular soda cuppa noodles any of that stuff that’s poison to regular diabetics I’m kind of shocked
You're shocked about his diet choices? Oh man if you only knew.
Idk if you noticed, but he lives in a double wide. With the cost of his medicines, maybe noodles is all he can afford to eat. Not just that, he prolly has the sodas for when he does go low.
@@brendanjmattox7669I agree. Noodles are what $1.00? he swimming in debt and probably cannot afford proper meals. Pop is probably cheaper than juice for his lows. Most people are clueless Type 1 needs fast sugar for lows or can go into diabetic coma. Type 2 your pancreas is semi functioning unlike type 1 who needs insulin AND sugar.
Yeah you need to be even more cautious about your health/lifestyle choices when you have any type of “autoimmune disease”. That’s prolly why he losing teeth like he is tbh
He is in DKA mostly all the time poor guy, horrible way to die! Coming from a T1D
Nice video, I have purchased NightRider from Ambrosia few months back and it works amazingly with Libre. The feature I love the most it always gives me alarms whenever my glucose goes down.
This is absolutely horrible, considering America is in many ways such a rich country.
Can’t stand how she says “inshulin” hahahaha
Does anyone hear the narrator pronounce Inchalin?
They don't even have to do that there is a thriving black market for it where they would pay literally Pennies on the dollar 4 name brand non-expired properly stored insulin epipens test strips you name it. Everybody tries to be cheap these days but I wouldn't be cheap when it came to my life
I feel for these people, however coming into Canada is not a solution. We Canadians are paying to keep it low for Canadians, not Americans.
Jason Pryde - I agree
🙄
@Mars vote appropriately.
Yep.
I’m on this ration, currently feeling lost, I think the only solution is to be done…
I’ve had to ration mine but not nothing like he has to I’m a type two so I can get by with not rushing it but number one he needs to get off those noodles those are shooting his sugar up really bad I had gastroparesis myself and it’s terrible mine was actually caused by A diabetic drug once I got off the drug I was better there is a cheaper form of insulin that you can get it Walmart over the counter I believe not as good but it still works and it is quite cheap the problem I have is I’m visually impaired so I can’t drive it so I stock up at the end of the year and I try to ration it out I even re-use my needles but you’re not supposed to but you can do it for a short time
Oh my god!!! I live in Sweden and i get my isulin for free
This is sick
My dog is diabetic.he uses lantus too
That guy has no money to buy insurance yet somehow can afford a Mac book and can afford to keep having kids...
Clown you are
I wonder if this guy from tuffs is on the take?
Did they metion the meth they buy with the insulin monies
Meth and Insulin are NOT related.
I'm the guy from the video with the missing teeth. I've never done meth or any other drug like that a day in my life. I've never even puffed a cigarette! This is all damage from Gastroparesis causing me to throw up. Not everyone in a trailer in TN is on meth...
Stomach acid is very damaging to the teeth. Anyone who has had any condition where they have had repetitive vomiting, especially over an extended period of time, is likely to experience dental problems as a result.
Diabetics should do some research on soursop leave.
Thank you. I've heard about soursop.
it does nothing.
......or better still, broccoli nd it's sprouts.
🥺🥺
Last time I checked it was spelt INSULIN, now INSHOELIN.
Last time I checked it was spelt 'not', not 'now'.
While insulin is obviously vital, these people should improve their diet, cut out soda completely for a start.
Stupid comment. You cannot rid yourself of type 1 diabetes with lifestyle changes.
@@Grimz__ Really!!!!!!! What a surprise, you must be a doctor! Of course what will actually happen if you continually have high blood sugars (exacerbated by sugar rich drinks and processed foods), is face serious complications such as limb loss and death, whereas somebody with limited access to medication could lessen the effects by carefully controlling their diet.
Guess how i KNOW this?
You absolute dolt. Do some research.
Soda can be critical for people on insulin. He probably cannot afford juice for dangerous blood sugar lows. People don’t understand if the body cannot regulate its blood sugar levels, it will lead to deadly lows and highs. If you need insulin to bring the levels down, you need sugar /carbs to bring it back up. It’s a constant and draining balancing act
Got to learn how to make insulin. It can't be that difficult.
There is a group in San Francisco who designing an "open source" insulin. Still means it has to be manufactured, but it won't be encumbered by patents.
@@nicolek4076 there has to be a way. Imagine what 7.4 million diabetics in America could do if they clubbed together to make insulin. Even 10 dollars a month each would be a factory that could spend 70 million a month on the stuff they need. There are no patents on insulin anymore.
It's actually a very difficult process involving injecting genes to encode insulin proteins in E. coli and growing it. Those "biohackers' are a joke, never have produced a batch of usable insulin and never will.
Hello thak you like you
just don't get diabetes #Prevention
slade tuner it’s probably just a joke but if not, you can be born where your body doesn’t produce insulin
Your an idiot
Slade Turner DISGUSTING comment!!!! Educate yourself on T1D, before you highlight your ignorance!!! UK T1D diagnosed aged 54 Height 5’5” 9 stone and very active and healthy diet for most of my life. AND?…..
okay my apologies
Type 1 diabetes isn’t like type 2 which is self-inflicted by diet and lifestyle. Type one is a autoimmune disease where your pancreas doesn’t work you can be born with it or develop it randomly through no-fault of your own. It’s very sad
High deductible plans. Thank you 44.

@@BRAVENEWORDERFILMS roger that.

It's because he had been sick so often for so long the acid rots your teeth
Apply "Self Analysis" auditing (in a book by L Ron Hubbard) - this might help lessen Diabetes.
No, it wont because that is BS. And for those that are reading this and dont know. L Ron Bastard is the same person that started the cult Scientology.
L Ron Hubbatd was a science fiction writer who started the cult of Scientology. Hardly an expert on anything you should follow.
No! that's DiaNETICS you fool!
You are a scientologist I assume?
You can’t “lessen” type 1 diabetes.
What did people do before Insulin was manufactured????
They ate keto/carnivore and stayed alive; moreover, type one thrived eating carnivore.
Someone let this kid know?
Please!
They died
They died a horrible death that involved either slowly starving to death, or having their organs gradually fail. They didn't live past childhood.
Do some research before touting an easy cure.
Type 1s generally didn't last past 30 before insulin.
@@blackswan1983 well said! I didn't know this thanks for the lesson!

Including many with diabetes.
Do intermittent fasting instead.
And you think this is a good idea for diabetics? Why?
@@blackswan1983 For Type 2, yes. Type 1 it won't really help much.

Stop taking the insulin change your diet eat healthy workout.

I'm being personal because I'm type 1 Diabetic and you literally have no idea what your talking about and it's an insult to read such bollocks. Insulin lantus is less than 7 dollars a pen in india. I am lucky to live in india being a american. I have round the clock cheap tedting and medications
