Although I’m not diabetic, but my brother was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes when he was 21 years old. He didn’t take care of himself and sadly passed away at age 40. My older brother was recently diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes and he’s not taking care of himself either. I really wish he would take this disease very seriously. I see him headed in the same direction as our brother who passed. I’m here because I want to learn as much as I can about Diabetes. Thank you so much for having this channel. It’s extremely helpful! Stay well.

Thank you for this video. This has been a concern of mind for my teen daughter. She’s had T1D for 4yrs and is really good about being on top of her diabetes. But I can tell when it starts to be overwhelming and make sure I’m always available to help when she needs it. Hoping she has as great a spouse as you do.

I grew up with a Dad who was type 1 and was the guinea pig for the 1st insulin pump. He is still in a research program 30+ years later. Here I am, at 40 years old and my husband was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes 2 years ago. It was so hard for me...knowing and seeing everything my Dad went through, yet SO blessed to have some education on it all. Thanks for your inspiration and encouragement! As a spouse, it's a totally different ballgame!

Lol. I love this. My husband usually won’t try any hanky panky if I’m under 120. I usually plummet quickly. However if I’m in the 130s-140s he’ll give me gummies and I know what that means. 😂😂😂😂 if I’m above 190 he’s like yay it’s time to party! If I’m like no he’s like well you’re high. I’m trying to help you out here! 🤨

I have type 1, too! I've only been diagnosed since May 2020, so I'm still adjusting, and I was off to a rough start because I am a kid and I had DKA. My A1C was 18.7, the doctors were shocked I wasn't in a coma. I'm shocked because I was in the early stages and already had really high A1C. When I arrived at the hospital, my blood sugar was a whopping 780 and I was 68 lbs. Not fun, but I survived it. Good to know that you educated us like this!

in the light and fun video, there was a moment of real pain. Im a solo father to a T1D son, my father was T1D and i lost him, my grandfather was T1D, he had a good innings but it took him as well. for 8 years now, i have never had a full nights sleep. i wake up 2-3 times a night to see if my son is still alive/ breathing. i hate mornings as the first thing is to see if my son survived the night! and this is with dexcom. i saw the same in your wife. take note!!!

Thank u!! Thanks u!!! You are such an adorable couple!!! Please include Lisa in more videos, she has a perspective that we don't hear from spouses of T1D's very often. I'm a surgical type one (which technically is a type 3C but no one knows what that is. Basically I'm the same as a Type one only that I don't have digestive enzymes, so my endo refers to me as a surgical type 1. ) I had my pancreatectomy at age 52 (on my bday!! of all days!!) so we were freaking out at the beginning. My husband follows me too and although many of my D friends say that would never do that. That would create the "diabetes Police in a spouse!! I disagree. I feel like he's got my back especially when we're apart due to work or traveling. And I know it eases his mind to know where I'm at instead of not knowing. Like you and Lisa, we communicate all the time even after 35 years. I know he has my back and I have his as well!! Thank you so much for your videos!!! I learn something with each video I watch!! And I'll say it again...I for one would LOVE LOVE LOVE to see Lisa again. She's too damn cute not to hear from and I hope she gives us more insight as to the issues with being the spouse of a PWD!! Thank you again!! U both ROCK!!!!!!

HAHA!!! I really do LOVE your vlogs!! I just recently found you so I've been binge watching. I know Isaid Lisa is cute but you're very handsome as well, don't mean to embarras u!! HAHA!!

After surgery for a smashed collarbone a few weeks ago, my wife had to ring the nurses at 3AM to tell them I was going low (there was no way I would have woken up with the drugs they put me on). We’d anticipated this, but the nurses were quite shocked to get that call :-)
Great episode. In bed, rolling on my site etc has never been an issue, but sometimes it can hurt her....always use the clip on cover...
I do avoid rolling on my Dex though...theyre expensive...

I've been recently diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. I feel that my wife is stressed and tired of hearing about it. I don't want her to feel bad so I'm no longer going to speak with her about it. I've definitely heard that before with our clients. Happy to have a chat if you need some tips, though I'd recommend starting with a training that I did that can help to control blood sugars so that you won't HAVE to stress about it (and neither will she). Here: diabetesinaction.com

    U 2 r so cute!!
Care to share your star signs?
Also Matt what does FTF stand for??
I also know I will cheat & eat say an apple fritter which is sugar death.
I prepare for the results knowing my blood sugar wasn't really low...
I kind of also eat things I shouldn't or whatever I want, but I keep an extra watch on my blood sugar.
I am dreaming of a cure for this disease.
Know anyone who is close to some answers??
Have U ever considered being someone who participates in a cure for type 1 diabetes??
Anyhow again thanks for sharing such a personal journey with all of us out here.
Please b safe & well regarding the CV-19 also!!
    I wish more couples were like U 2 R!!
