Wow I just check that video out and you can actually see how genuine she is toward ice-cream and so real and so sophisticated. I'm not even going to question if her ice-cream is good or not. When you did something with love and passion, it's going to be great! Love her character too!!
its not worth ma dude, for some reason the ice cream dsnt taste the same as in the store. They probably use a cheaper recipe for distribution and maybe to force you to come the shop. If you wanna buy online u should probably go for another brand
You're missing out! It's the best chain store on the market in the US. When you get a chance, try Brown Butter Almond Brittle first. Seems to be a top seller. Also if you go to a store instead of buying it in the grocery store, you get to sample everything... and it tastes better too I feel like.
In a way, it is an ad. A lot of people are ok paying more for good quality, locally and ethically sourced and that'll be one of her major market segments.
They have two of her ice cream shops where I live they ate both 40 minutes away from me on each side. OMG they are worth the drive though. It's amazing ice cream and she has the best ice cream cones. She deserves all the recognition that her products get.
I think they are $12 if you buy them online (and you have to buy at least 3 pints) to compensate for the likely more expensive way they have to package the pints to stay cold during shipping. If you buy them at Whole Foods or elsewhere in person, they are a little less (like $9). Right now, WF is selling these for even less than that for Prime members, under 6 bucks. I do agree with you though! *runs out to WF to buy Jeni's Ice Cream*
Haaaaa, Hello, North Market lover for most of my life!! Also, here's an adventure, Go to The Brown Bag Deli in German Village and have an awesome sandwich and soup, then walk right next door to Jeni's and have a scoop! (Lemon yogurt and bramble berry crisp together, AWESOME!)
She does not need to scale up! In the age of perpetual growth, Jeni’s Ice Cream stands tall and part from the rest because she keeps her ice scream within that “PERSONAL” experience in terms of vendor relationships, sourcing and production. Certain things need to remain as is. The moment she compromise principles which made her ice scream such a success is when Jeni’s ice cream will stop being Jeni’s. We have too many shitty ice creams. Just look at the grocery isle.
Been buying Jeni’s since 2001!! Columbus Ohio, my aunt lived in New Albany and when these became available to buy online let me just say I bought a small deep freezer! Slowly, since I’m in Ohio I noticed first small, boutique type grocers carrying a small selection then the past couple years WHAM-O, it’s EVERYWHERE 🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻 So genuinely happy for her success, this is an amazing product and her passion has persevered and we all benefit from it.
Toy Dubz isn’t it awesome!! I’m so proud of her, I don’t think (personally) that quality has suffered!! She’s still making an incredible product and I’ve got tons of respect for the craft 🙏🏻
Jeni’s is simply the best ice cream experience out there. She was told that she could be whatever she wanted to be but she took it a step further. She made ice cream better than everyone else and that’s what truly sets her apart. I ❤️ Jeni’s 🍦!!
Love her stuff, but the quality has taken a hit since she started to mass produce her product. Her stuff is still well beyond most brands, but Salt&Straw is the current top notch ice cream out there right now.
The flavors have definitely gotten more conventional as their market expanded. Now, they'll usually have only one really weird one, just to maintain their reputation for being "daring", but that weird one is usually not available, and all the rest of the flavors are typical fruit/ caramel/ cake type flavors.
Literally the first time in my life experiencing “idc what it cost, I’ll pay for it” ...almost a life changing experience...what other elite quality items have I missed because of the price?
Jeni's was my favorite until i tried Millie Joslyns ice-cream at Pickerel in Providence RI two years ago. Ice-cream has never been the same since that day.
Stumbled upon this brand in a grocery store. The packing sold me and so did the flavor offerings. It’s definitely pricy, but it’s so delicious and worth every penny.
Honestly the success of Jeni’s couldn’t happen to a better person. Her and her husband are wonderful people and they care about taste and the quantity of the ice cream. Yes, 12 dollars for a pint is pricey but so worth it!
Hello jeni i am Corinne from France Why dont we have your ice cream in France? it looks so good and the mix of flavours is really clever and unbelievable
That's totally awesome to see a female entrepreneur. Tons of small and large business owners who are female in South Florida. Not a shock to me, still very nice to see.
Jeni's ice cream came across my radar about a month ago when I was driving across the country. I stopped at an outdoor shopping area in Columbus Ohio on the way back to Massachusetts and there was a huge line outside her shop (or one of her shops). Long line = great ice cream, so had to try! Wildberry lavender was outstanding and worth the wait. Since then I have bought some at Whole Foods, though the flavors have been limited and I've thought about getting some shipped to me. It wasn't until this video that I realized I watched her taste ice creams on epicurious!
i'm telling you. if you havent tried jeni's ice cream.... you are truly missing out. this is one of the only ice creams i'll eat (besides mexican or pakistan/iranian) it is SO GOOD.
I'd don't get Jeni's ice cream all the time, it's pricy. But oh goodness is it worth it when I do! The SO often gets me the Rose when I'm sick from the chronic illness flares and having trouble eating. The tartness and lightness is perfect for nausea, and the bright, sweet flavors perk me up when I'm struggling to eat. So wonderful! For sure worth it from time to time as a treat!
Brown butter and almond brittle is the best ice cream i've ever had. The Brambleberry Crisp is a close second. I cant wait to try the Wildberry Lavender
Jeni's right -- the flavour of ice cream really does reflect one's personality! I for one love the combination of bitter lemon with sour cherries, topped off with those brittle, nutty and fragile flakes. Has an acidic aftertaste too.
Oh my goodness,am I the only person who’s never heard of Jeni’s Ice Cream? I’ve been making my own Ice Cream for too many years. I have to try and find it. It sounds delicious.
Ice cream is such a saturated market no wonder I never heard of this brand and I grew up in the north east. Really glad she is able to sell so much ice cream.
I love supermoon ! And her chocolate ice creams are just soooo goood. Well worth the money! Luckily there is a shop near my house that I can just uber a pint or two, if you haven't tried it you're missing out
Wait, that's the ice cream expert in the Epicurious video!
Came to the comments section to look for this comment!!!

Same with chocolate girls.
Yes!!!!!
Yep. You’re right! She really is serious about ice-cream!
Just an FYI, Jeni's pints in stores are not $12, more like $7-9. Totally worth it for the biscuit and peach jam flavor. totally awesome.
Erik V I worked there. They are $12 in my store
Even $7 is expensive for a PINT!
It's $12 in WA state
Bro in La at the stores are like 12bucks but honestly worth it! You can tell the difference
That’s my fave. Literally eating it now.
If she didn’t express this passion I wouldn’t even consider a $12 pint. As it is I’m on board.
its not worth ma dude, for some reason the ice cream dsnt taste the same as in the store. They probably use a cheaper recipe for distribution and maybe to force you to come the shop. If you wanna buy online u should probably go for another brand
Bruce Angel it’s cheaper in grocery stores, i got it for $5 a pint once
I’m confused because it’s that price when you buy a pint from their store location too
Seriously not worth it. It's kind of bland even though she had all these "foodie" flavors
Bruce Angel it’s cheaper at Whole Foods, in Silver Springs, MD it’s about $8.99 a pint. Yes, it’s pricy.
I never knew what Jenis was until now
Same

@@amdl270 woah thank you so much to tell us😊
Same! The reason why there's videos like this.
I appreciate the fact that they actually asked her some important questions, like about the price and the farming, good to see it's not just an ad
In a way, it is an ad. A lot of people are ok paying more for good quality, locally and ethically sourced and that'll be one of her major market segments.

Honestly maybe the pints are worth $12 considering their employing small growers in the US and abroad
Harrison Levin Not considering the business practices, the roasted strawberry buttermilk is worth the $12.
Good quality is worth it!!

No ice cream is worth 12$
Bradley Poole Have you had this ice cream? I love supporting this hometown business. I’ll pay $12 a pint.
Wow I can’t believe I’m seeing Jeni’s ice cream on CNBC. I’ve been going to the north market all my life and always get Jeni’s ice cream.
Omg I also go to the North Market it is great! Do you like destination donut?
Jenoay -Tf2 omg YESSSSS the North Market is literally the best and Jeni’s and destination donut are probably my two favorites!

Best ice cream I've ever had! Gooey Butter Cake is to DIIIIIIIIIE for
i know righhtttttttttt?
I get it every time! can't go wrong!
Yes!!!!!
Yes!!!! I had it for the first time last weekend. OMG! Ice cream heaven!!!
YES
I've tried many ice cream shops across major cities in the US and Jeni's ranks #1 for me.
She does not need to scale up! In the age of perpetual growth, Jeni’s Ice Cream stands tall and part from the rest because she keeps her ice scream within that “PERSONAL” experience in terms of vendor relationships, sourcing and production. She already did scale up, they outsourced production to a third party
That's why a lot of French ice-cream/ chocolate/ bakery shops refuse to expand beyond France, some even beyond Paris.
To sell over $40 million I think she’s already scaled up
I hope Kraft and Nestle stay away.
She is that ice cream lady from epicurious!
Literally why I clicked. Didn't even read the title.

my favorite icecream place ever. Thank you for making your dreams come to life, Jeni!
Love her stuff, but the quality has taken a hit since she started to mass produce her product. Her stuff is still well beyond most brands, but Salt&Straw is the current top notch ice cream out there right now.
I agree, I think shes changed the recipe. I've gotten several kinds and to me, the flavors taste artificial
@@kkfatmonkey24 probably happened when they outsourced production to a third party after Jeni's huge listeria problem at their own facility.
Humphrey Slocombe!!
I used to walk by Salt and Straw all the time when I lived in Portland and I never actually got anything and I will hate myself forever

Jeni’s ice cream is a Columbus company. Every flavor is a BANGER.

I usually pay $7 for a pint. I would happily pay double that. It's like there's drugs in this stuff. The lemon and blueberry parfait is absurdly good.
Jenni’s Brown Butter Almond Brittle ice cream is amazing!!!!
Love Jeni's ice cream. It is on the pricier side, but I love the way that the business is run, so I'm willing to support it.
Stumbled upon this brand in a grocery store. The packing sold me and so did the flavor offerings. It’s definitely pricy, but it’s so delicious and worth every penny.
After I tried it today it made Ben and Jerries feel like I was eating water.
I saw her at Epicurious to guess which ice cream is more expensive (because she's an expert)
Every time I would buy a pint at a local market, they asked, “Is it really worth it?”. Absolutely! I love this ice cream!
If y’all haven’t tried brambleberry crisp, then what are you doing
Have you had it with a scoop of her lemon yogurt?? Omg!!! 😍😂
What does it taste like? I’m a little wary in trying new things but curios :o
Gooey Butter Cake is the best hands down! Love this brand!
It is worth every penny . TREAT YOURSELF. The passion 100% comes through
You know what it's better that her ice cream is a lil bit more expensive, it makes us consume it in a more thoughtful way
She's from that Epicurious ice-cream expert video!
This video keeps popping up on my feeds, I finally gave in
Great story, and I love what her grandma said, it was so true, women can do anything they want today!

Can they elaborate rather than just gloss over the fact that she had an ice cream business for 4 years before jeni’s?
How does TH-cam know what videos I wouldn't search for but I would ultimately watch?
