To my understanding, it's about how much value you get out of it, right? 10% for a 1.3x damage boost in some situations can cause you to lose out on longevity of a pokemon that would be worth more sticking around. However, self-ko moves like Healing Wish or a boom can generate a lot of value by either ko-ing a pokemon or fully healing a valuable partner
@@ironoat also, the cost is not just your HP. For life orb is your item slot and healing wish is one move slot. The opportunity cost of the latter is much lower.
you think we can get a video on 'cores'? such as fire-water-grass, or steel-dragon-fairy skarm-bliss, heat-ferro-zap, pex-landot-amoon etc maybe a video on defensive and offensive cores over the years? I always felt like cores make up the missing piece of 'why is 'x' mon so strong?' since a lot of mons in common cores see disproportionately higher use then looking at the mon in isolation would suggest.
Healing Wish looks like one of those "High Risk High Reward" options at first glance, but anyone who runs it effectively knows exactly what they want to use it for and when. Also I like the idea of using "Gridiron" and "Association" in situations where one Football could be confused for the other.
Back in late DPP early BW, ubers and some fringe OU players had constantly been trying to figure out a new subarchetype called Quick Stall. It never materialized fully, but it also wasn't well explored to begin with. Any chance we see an examination in why it never shook out?
I have not watched the video yet, but I am eager to see how my favorite surprise move (alongside Final Gambit) is used in a metagame I haven't played since it was current gen
I spell it "favourite" etc. as an American because I played a British spelling and grammar PC game a lot as a kid and was conditioned to spelling a lot of words that way as a result lmao. Sorry! Dx
BKC: “killing youself by 10% in competitive mons isn’t good”
Also BKC “killing youself all at once however….?”
Based and explosion-pilled
yes, and?

You only click Healing wish or boom when it's optimal to do so. You will loose hp with life ord no matter how suboptimal it would be atm.
That example of Giratina Draco killing the Rayquaza is amazing because the idea of 3 of your own Pokémon fainting during the same turn feels insane
Where does that happen
@@whynot9421 At the end of a gen 4 battle in the video, around the 10 minute mark I think
It’s funny since gen 4 got rid of 4 pokemon on one side fainting in one turn in doubles.
Why does healing wish cause your pokemon to die? Are they stupid?
Cresselia and Latias: I may be stupid
Begone aslume! Man isn’t welcome here
Jirachi needs to be locked up in the mental asylum
Is there a lore reason for Healing Wish healing?
Yeah exactly! They make full revives like come on
You and jimothy got me into competitive Pokemon, am i good? No. But you two are my favorite pokemon creators! Good content as always
you should check out Blunder too, he has a great tournament vid that just went up

That drill joke had no right being that funny
That Fc vs Finchnator moment was so goofy😭
This made clearing snow a lot more enjoyable, thanks Kevin!
The neighbors were using Drill Run
This is the fastest turnover I've ever witnessed from you saying "I need to make a video about topic" into making a video about topic. Bravo.
never forget about healing wishes powers
I should have known you’d be here lol hi weedle
I always forget its power in gen8. Idfk how it works anymore
Weedleeeeeee ❤

Me over a decade ago being called a scrub for using healing wish hearing this now :,V

ohh that rings a bell, though i really cannot remember the details of it
The absolute madman went ahead and did it

Sounded like a magneton was about to attack you in the beginning
Blud lost 4 Pokemon in 2 turns. RIP.
Oh my God, he actually did it. The ramble topic is real!
He asked and he delivered
*BKC says something about healing wish in DPP*
"(...). Man i should make a video about that."
As promised.
video idea: what if stealth rock did 6.25% instead of 12.5%?
Charizard: I may be UU
@@GoTELuckyCharmsCharizard can't talk

I hope we get a DPP OU moveset guide for every pokemon :)
Love the drilling in the background
Losing four pokemon in two turns to one Draco Meteor is quite a sequence.
this thought turned to a video so quick

You are most certainly verbose. And that's a good thing.
Also, drilling is always fun
