I love Melange and Geographica! You really are operating in that mode for this one, and it's great! (I don't think about the tracing so much, but I like geographical rambling and history.)

I love this kind of videos, but your voice and the way that you move your hands are simply amazing! Thank you for that ❤️

I love looking thru atlases! I don’t have many but when I find one I like to check it out. It’s always fun to see how borders change😊

Great video! Estonian and Finnish do not come from Proto-European, they are in the Finnic branch of the Finno-Ugric language family and therefore are not Indo-European, though I think each may have loanwords from languages like Russian and Swedish due to contact over the centuries. Off to sleep now! 😴

Estonian and Finnish are still pretty similar languages but not as similar as like let's say the Scandinavian languages. As a Finn I many times can understand the general idea of a text in Estonian and many of the Estonian vocabulary is same as old Finnish that is not that much in use anymore. So the shared linguistic history is still definitely there. That being said, I still struggle to understand spoken Estonian since their cadence is very different from Finnish. The western dialects in Finland sound the most similar to Estonian, but my roots are in Helsinki as well as the eastern Finland so no help there😃I don't know how Estonians feel about understanding Finnish. We have many Estonians working in Finland and they seem to be learning the language pretty effortlessly!
