It's so nice to watch these videos back again. I was only 14 back then watching with my brothers and Mum and Dad. I like Stephen hendry back then and he was my favourite snooker player and I still like him now bless him. My favourite player now though is Ronnie obviously! Thanks for posting this video. Best wishes 👍
@worldsnookertour Could you upload climax of the 1995 Grand Prix final, the first official match between Stephen Hendry and John Higgins? I would be grateful.
I'd forgotten that they didn't used to have the score on the screen all the time, only at various junctures. Same with football, I can recall when the clock wasn't shown in the box during live matches.
2:10 Was that an intentional pot on the red by Stephen Hendry?? Wow, great pot!!! He later got the yips and his form arguably declined...I doubt that he could do those types of pots in his later career like in the noughties.
Imagine someone doesn't know Dennis Taylor.. He definitely looks like we can beat him in snooker.. the way he wears the spectacle. Ask him to play for money.. When the game starts, gulp the saliva..😂😂😂
@Wayne Anthony Holmes What got you so hot and bothered? You're in love or something? Haha..All I said was Hendry made it fashionable. In the late 80s when I was just 3 years younger than him snooker experience a boom where I came from.

36 years ago today. God I'm old.
Hendry loved winning titles on the final yellow.
Stephen hendry change the dynamics of playing snooker
Legend begin
GOAT
lol
I can’t see anyone beating Hendry’s record of youngest ever world champion at 21 years old! Incredible feat.
Si came close last year but losing after being 14-5 up in the semi final against Brecel missed his chance
Can see how different his cue action was then. I thought it looked better without the pause.

He was that good at 18 and 2 years later he wins the world championship.
Legend.
WTF. The glasses of Dennis Taylor is astronomical

I love it how he just sits there at 8:37 with a face of.. ffs I'll be 7 times world champion what's the fuss about me winning the Grand Prix..
on his way
Le premier ranking d'une longue série....
£60k is about £165k today, that was rather good for the Grand Prix.
Dang, this comment section is saltier than the Atlantic Ocean...
60 bags was a lot of money back then
Rothmans...those were the days

Give it 6 years, & his fellow 7 time world champion takes that record... Like most of the others ROS has taken....
Sad comment

Ian Doyle took 50,000 of this prize money. Stephen was allowed to keep 10,000.
Absolutely the second best ever
why didn't he pot the last black ball?
it's optional if you don't need it to win the frame
🙏
Before Hendry, snooker was for old fat guys. Hendry, with his youthful looks and mullet, made it fashionable.
@Wayne Anthony Holmes So, Jimmy White was shit too, right?

Ah. A non native English speaker. Makes sense now.
Really? Alex Higgins was 22 when he became world champion. Steve Davis was 23.
Must have missed when Steve Davis was fat
