Brilliant wee documentary on Scotland's mighty snooker legend Stephen Hendry. He ruled the whole world of snooker all through the 90's and was pretty much untouchable during that whole decade. Hendry was snooker king of the 90's and O'Sullivan the snooker king of most of the 'naughties' and '10's', and both of them are the kings of the modern game. Stephen took the game into a new era whereby attacking play became the norm for most players and hence helped make the sport mainstream and more popular than ever.

Hendry dominated like no other in his prime while Ronnie has had the longevity of still being the top man late into his career..

Spot on mate. The modern game would not be the same without Hendry’s influence. The attacking arc into the reds was a game changer.

Hendry's was far more dominant in his time at the top but Ronnie has the longevity. Id say Ronnie has the small edge in the goat debate due to his ability with his left hand.

So much to see and say here.
The fact that Hendry got to where he got to, with such an entourage that he started out with in the 87/88 season - a legend.
Fearless and aggressive as a teenager, with incredible skills to back it all up - a real one-off...
And he's doing so well with his channel and now on the WST pod. He has the clout to get the best, and we are all the richer because of that. A new legend!
Hendry cannot have the longevity of Ronnie - so he'll always have to be in second place on the GOAT list. But Hendry was a proper beast! A hot incandescent bulb in Hendry, against a series of iterations to make good long-life bulbs in Ronnie! But bulb-tech is so good now, that Ronnie is having a legend of a season! Ronnie 23/24 has been epic thus far... 👍

Hendry's killer instinct in the mid 90s unmatched by anyone who ever played the game. That "eye of the tiger" and lack of sentimentality was incredible. People don't realize, Jimmy White was his favorite player growing up. People may say Ronnie has more flair or speed, but Hendry revolutionized the game. He literally invented the side spin off the blue into the pack that every pro uses. In my mind, peak Hendry beats peak O'Sullivan because Hendry had no mental weakness, where as Ronnie might get emotional. Also, he never, ever turned down a pot. That's what elevates him above Steve Davis in my mind. Joe Davis... I don't know lol. Different era. There are 4 players on the Mt. Rushmore of snooker... Joe Davis, Steve Davis, Stephen Hendry, Ronnie O'Sullivan. You can pick any as the best, but nobody else comes close to those 4.

Ronnie is great but Stephen Hendry deserves all the credit he gets!

I don't see how fraud fits into a description of The Wonder Boy?
I agree standards in snooker improved with the arrival of Hendry, also how the game was played!
Their was a lot more safety play before Hendry arrived on the scene, and trying to play safe against Hendry always seemed like a delay of the inevitable because he was so aggressive, all he needed was a sliver of a chance and he played to stay on the table and finish up.
Snooker as a game is centuries old and yet the first 147 was only in recent years so the fact that he has so many might suggest his ability.
In your own words, he got to so many finals and because he only beat Ronnie O'Sullivan a couple of times, he is a fraud?
Can't wait to watch Wayne Anthony Holmes at the next crucible, by the sound of it, you'll be a match for James Watana, Jimmy White and Hendry or any other frauds posing as people with talent.
Unless you beat the best more times than you lose and have more 147's, you are a complete fraud???
Please make it make sense 🤣
A peak Hendry at his best at 21 could hold his own against a peak O'Sullivan imo, it would be be a great game to see

I'd call him a pioneer faster than a fraud that's all.
His style of aggressive long shot and finish everything became the stencil or template of how snooker players changed on his arrival abandoning defensive safety play in favor of sustained and pressured attack play which was a lot more entertaining to watch.
Ronnie is lethal for sure but I still think prime Hendry would be the one guy who could put it up to him!
Like a peak Prime Pele 1958-1970 vs a peak prime Ronaldo from Brazil 1996-1997 or Messi vs Maradona at their best ever high water mark of ability?
The Milky Bar Kid's nineties game was top notch!
Some of the shots he played were off the wall unbelievable, can't really call him a fraud.
I remember watching those games and he was that good, maybe still is on the right day?

Can only beat what's in front of you and i can't imagine anyone on here beating him. Why all the negative comments about a legend of the game. He's never said he's the best.
