      Sure? You got an ego there mate. You can't handle the fact that you're shit at snooker so you pretend that pool is a crap game to make yourself feel superior - when you'd be shit at pool too.

      @@johnp515 When they are able to play both we call them 'snooker players'. Rare exceptions like Chris Melling who had a snooker tour card and decided to switch focus to pool. Why would anyone on the snooker tour not just play snooker when the money is better than pool? Maybe some will choose Chinese 8-ball instead since the money is comparable.

    Mark Williams can easily be a world champion in pool in addition to his world champion in snooker. His 'shot maker' ability can get him there. Interesting

    • @dhirajpallin2572
      @dhirajpallin2572 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      He hasn't been doing as good as Tom Ford or Mark Selby in pool. I think English 8-ball is more about choosing ideal patterns, rather than shot making. I think he could be good at Chinese 8-ball, but he'd have to drastically improve his break first.

    • @2colossery
      @2colossery 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Snooker players tend to be more up to speed in english 8 ball, which is more like snooker in terms of the ball physics and dimensions. They struggle much more in 9 ball and american cue sports (just look at what happened when Judd Trump was demolished in US open).
      But all in all, it's different sports, even though the fundamentals of shot making is the same, there are still a lot of things separating, and neither snooker players or pool players can jump between disciplines and perform on the highest level without practice and intentional effort.

    • @dhirajpallin2572
      @dhirajpallin2572 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@2colossery I find Chinese 8 Ball interesting since it has facets of all the other cue sports combined. Also did you know Ultimate Pool has started bar box tournaments in the US, with 7 ft american cut tables and american balls. Very interesting. Check out the Louisiana Open on TH-cam. Yeah I think it's especially difficult for the players who use constant side on the cue ball to switch to a different ball size, because the side simply responds differently. Snooker players rely on more center ball, so they can in theory switch ball size and just try to minimise their use of side. Not so easy in 9-ball where you really need the side for position. I think that's why Judd missed many of his shots, trying to play them with a lot of side. It's funny when you watch Gary Wilson playing 9-ball. He's really good at it for a snooker player, but for some reason he keeps missing easy 9--balls. I'm starting to wonder if the stripes on the ball are throwing his vision off somehow since it looks different to the first 8 balls.

    Pot 8 balls in a 3 foot x 6 foot table and pool players think they are great. Snooker players pot 36 balls in sequence over a 6 foot x 12 ft table. You can fit 4 pool tables on a snooker table.

    • @CD-pj1qf
      @CD-pj1qf 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Think the standard size is 7ft in comp but yeah I think it’s obvious snooker is harder … I think the patterns that pool players know are the thing that give them an advantage at the very very top level of the game ..

    01:26 Professional Snooker player plays a slight swerve to deviate thr ball about 2mm, and the commentary team say " he's bending it, incredible, what a shot that is!!"... and that, ladies is gentleman why it's best to put the commentary on mute when watching Ultimate Pool!!

    • @heyySandmann
      @heyySandmann 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +15

      It's not only the swerve, it's the pacing in combination with the short range swerve to hold position for the black ball. Slow swerves on a short shot are not easy. You don't play pool if you can't see why its a nice shot. Best shot ever? No, but a great shot none the less.
      Ultimate pool only uses pro's or ex-pros for their commentary. I wish that was the standard for all sports. Ultimate pool has some of the best commentary and frequently has players in the tournament in the commentary box while they are not playing their matches (such as Chiss Melling, Declan Brennan, Mick Hill, etc).

    Fairly entertaining, but not a good look for pool when you can win a frame by sheer luck.If I played 100 snooker frames against Mark Williams, I would lose 100. If I played 100 pool frames against whoever the top pool guy is, I'd probably win 10
